We had a great meal at Himalayan Taste in Temecula. The vegetable momos were delicious and disappeared in record time. They were easily one of the highlights of the meal. The lamb seekh kebab was flavorful and tasty, although I found it a little on the dry side. Next time I'll probably try the lamb boti kebab or one of the many other tandoori options on the menu, which all looked excellent. The garlic naan was perfect--fresh, flavorful, and a great complement to everything else we ordered. We're from San Francisco and when we visit Temecula, Himalayan Taste Temecula is always on our list of restaurants to eat at. I discovered the tomato soup last year. Learned about this delicious bowl of steaming hot and tasty mouthwatering soup from another yelp review. The review was from a mother that said her son loved the tomato soup. Kid? Tomatoes? Hmmmmm, doesn't equate to me, but it must be good if a child likes it. It is sooooooo frickin' delicious. It can be 90 degrees outside and I will still order this hot bowl of yumminess. There's a lot of great things always said about this place. Some say it's a hidden gem. I frequent the Sprouts and Esporta that share the plaza, so it's never been so hidden to me. This was the first time I considered giving it a try. I don't come across many bad Indian spots and here was no different. The ambience inside is nice and I had some time so I dined in. Lots of tables for groups or even solo diners. I was helped quickly and served in a timely manner. From the lentil soup to the main course, everything was satisfying. My samosas were big and filling. I also liked how it was made with white meat chicken breast. Saag Paneer was alright. It was more on the bland side, it wasn't as flavorful as other Saag Paneers I've had from other places. Garlic Naan was delicious!! It had bits and pieces of fresh garlic and chopped cilantro which gave it a really scrumptious taste!! My favorite is chicken tikka masala with a side of garlic naan. Many dishes can pack a punch with spice so be mindful if you are spice shy. I enjoy the white rice as it is seasoned with what I believe to be cloves, star anise, and other spices. The rice has a nice aroma and is different than plain white rice. Every time I order take out I receive a serving of sweet coconut rice pudding that I don't order so I am assuming it is standard practice for the restaurant to include it. Ordered butter Himalayan mixed appetizer, chicken curry, and lamb tikka masala. Although we had to wait for a while, all the dishes came out together and real hot. Both curries were thick and very tasty. Blends very well with the light flaky basmati rice. The mixed appetizers especially the veggie samosa tasted very well.
