We ordered the Yellow Daal Tadka from the vegetarian selection for pickup. Placed the order through Yelp and it was ready within 20 minutes. This dish was super good and we totally enjoyed it. Would definitely come back to try other items in menu. The restaurant is super clean and the staff appears to be friendly. My one and only issue was that I've ordered from other similar restaurants and will usually get a piece of naan with the meal. With the rising cost of restaurant food this should be a freebie. This place right here is down right amazing. The food and flavor is delicious and you can taste and notice the authenticity of the ingredients. Very well managed and operated. I had the intention of dining with my mother, we were having our drinks and I got a call, I had to leave earlier than expected. I asked if my order could be made "to-go" instead. This was my second time here and I'll say this with no hesitation- I WILL NEVER BE BACK. The first time here was great - I ordered a spicy tikka masala - spicy and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. However a week later on my second visit back I ordered the same thing and got the worst food poisoning I've had in my life. I was down for 4 days with salmonella. I had a fever, chills, stomach cramps, diarrhea from my meal here. Not sure what's going on in the back and whether it was due to bad chicken or cross contamination but I won't ever have to find out. Samosas are flaky and yummy. Mango chicken was also great. The cucumber potato salad is refreshing. But, my favorite thing is their tomato soup. So tangy, sweet, salty, just really satisfying. We've noticed a pattern that Himalayan influenced Indian restaurants are better somehow and couldn't pass up trying this place. The food was so good! A bit too spicy for some of the dishes, but so packed with flavor. The garlic naan is probably one of the best I've ever had, same with the chicken tandoori. The vegetable rice is crazy good... especially if you appreciate cardamom. Our least favorite was the lamb choila; we do not recommend this one. Service needs some work. Now this is exactly what our city needed! Yum yum! Delicious flavors in every bite. Came inside was greeted right away to be seated. Every table was taken so was lucky to snag up the last one. Place was very orderly and clean. Little one ordered the tomato soup $5.99 and gave it a big thumbs up. I went with the coconut shrimp $19.99 and chilli Naan $3.99. Food took a little longer but I promise it's worth the wait you can tell there is some heart and sound going into this. You can order your spice level too! This place is so new I'm not sure if this review will actually be meaningful. I tend not to be the first to review places because any given establishment can easily invalidate my potentially positive review by simply switching out of "Grand Opening" mode. I'm going out on a limb this time though because my second-day-open experience was not only high quality, it was down right excellent. Being that it was their second day open, we walked in to an clean and pleasant dining area but was completely empty so I can't give an accurate estimate of how the service would be on a busy evening. With that being said, the service was perfectly on point. All of the staff were attentive and friendly with plenty or check-ins and water top-offs. The food was spectacularly tasty. Most of the time I would not try an unknown dish from an unknown place my first time visiting but rolled the dice this time and was pleasantly surprised. We tried the Karahi Chicken and the Baingan Chicken, both dishes that we never had elsewhere so I can't really say how good they are comparatively. I can say, however, that both were outstandingly fragrant and they did not skimp on the meat unlike other (mantrahhhhuuuunnamed) Indian restaurants in the area. There's only one downside and that's whether or not Himalayan Taste can maintain status quo. Will they retract their standards as their client base grows or will they continue to excel and deliver quality Indian food and service? Only time will tell so I'll leave a follow up review in the next coming weeks when it does. read more

Their phones don't work. I tried calling 4x before driving 20 mins to their location. I am 9 months pregnant and have a 1 year old and really did not want to make this drive prior to ordering, but I read reviews saying how great this food is and I know my usual Indian spots in this area are all mediocre. (I had to make specifications to ensure they can make the food vegan, so I couldn't order on their website and needed to speak to a person to order.) I drove the 20 mins to get there. They took my order and told me 25 mins. I sat in my car 25 mins then came inside and waited another 20 mins. So it took 45 mins for them to prepare my food, not 25 mins like they estimated. Not ideal with my 1-year old with me. It would have been great if they had answered the phone, taken my order, and given an accurate wait time. I was frustrated and hungry and eager to get home to eat. They can't make their garlic naan vegan; roti is the only bread option for vegans. Which is fine, I was looking forward to trying the roti. I asked a bunch of questions confirming what can and cannot be made vegan. I was very clear that my order needed to be made vegan. I ordered the Chana masala (made vegan by not using dairy), got the vegetable biryani, roti, and vegetable samosas. They didn't give me the roti. No bread for me. The samosas were incredible. The vegetable biryani is the best I've ever tasted. Just absolutely amazing flavors. Even the side of basmati rice that came with the Chana masala was beyond delicious. This is definitely the best Indian food anywhere around this area. By far. Their flavors are insanely good. They also gave me what looks like is a side of raita, when we specified everything was to be vegan. Considering them not answering phones, the inaccuracy of the wait time estimate, I would give 3 star. Even had the food flavoring been "good", 3 star. I was so upset, so disappointing. But this flavoring is incredible, so I bumped it up to 5 stars. The chefs in the back obviously know what they're doing. They missed my roti, gave me a tub of yogurt stuff when I told them to only give me vegan items, but I am very satisfied because the food has astounding flavor. This place is delicious. read more

I hate to post this because I love their food and want to support local businesses - but Himalyan Taste has a problem with consistency. I've found it's a problem with most places, but usually the variability is not enough to make me stop coming. It might be one dish out of three that is not as flavorful or overcooked, but not that serious. It's generally still good. But then I had one order bad enough that I only ate a little of everything (I always get takeout). The Tandoori Chicken was oddly pale looking and had no taste. The Saag Paneer was soggy and tasteless. The Butter chicken was bland and the chicken tasted old. I can only describe everything as tasting stale. It was the first time I just threw everything out. It was like they had a chef whose first time was cooking Indian food. I have been patronizing this place regularly, but I stopped coming for months. Then I couldn't hold back any longer and decided to give it another try. Everything was back to being good. So I have mixed feelings about coming here - they have the best Indian food in the area, but it's rather expensive especially when you might have to throw everything out. read more

The place is clean, it has all the Indian delights you could ever think up. We ordered a hodge podge and our dishes appeared at our table when they were ready: fresh, hot and delicious.
