We ordered and waited unusually long for a simple teriyaki bowl so I figured that it would be fantastic given the wait and the reviews. The combo plate, chicken and beef, with rice and salad. The salad was fresh and good, the house dressing is pretty darn good. Sadly, after the salad it was downhill. I didn't really enjoy the chicken or the beef. They were both a little off putting in their own right. Neither seemed like they were unfresh, but just had an odd taste. With enough soy and sriracha sauce I was able to make it through my lunch, my buddy I came with ate about 1/4 of his chicken and pushed the bowl away and declined to finish his lunch. Food wasn't great, place is a little run down, wait time is long. It's gonna be a one and done for me.

4/5 Asian Gourmet is…read moreone of those casual, cozy spots that's perfect when you're looking for a relaxed lunch. The décor is minimal with just enough Asian touches to give it character. It's a quaint little place that's great for small groups or a quiet meal with someone. We stopped in for the lunch special, which comes with soup, your choice of entrée, and either white or fried rice. I ordered the sesame chicken, while my partner had the beef and broccoli. My sesame chicken was cooked perfectly--tender, flavorful, and not overly crispy or hard like it can sometimes be. It was just right. The only thing that missed the mark for me was the fried rice. The peas and carrots tasted a little cold, which threw off the texture and flavor. Next time I'll probably stick with the white rice like my husband always does. Service was prompt, and we never felt forgotten. A gentleman, who I assume was the owner or manager, stopped by to check on us, and I noticed they greeted customers as they came in, which always leaves a good impression. The atmosphere is quiet, cozy, and comfortable. Even though the restaurant was busy, it wasn't crowded or noisy, making it easy to enjoy a nice lunch and conversation. Overall, it's a solid lunch spot with friendly service and good food. I'd happily come back again. Four stars from me.

However, the flavors were a bit bland. With all the great reviews, I expected a little more. I ordered the $9.95 lunch special with broccoli beef, white rice, and egg drop soup. Overall it was okay, just lacking the flavor I was hoping for. The service, however, was great. The staff was friendly and made the experience pleasant.

I ordered the pan-fried dumplings, wonton soup, and egg drop soup, and all three were tasty and satisfying. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous for the cost. To be honest, I should've went with my first thought and gone elsewhere. As soon as we walked in to the restaurant, you were hit with smell of sewage. The empty tables had pieces of food and crumbs on them and were not cleaned off. Not wanting to look elsewhere, we decided to stay and try the food. I ordered the Yogis Roll. The fish was definitely not fresh. Very fishy smell and taste, I only ate 2 pieces and threw the rest out. My son had the Hawaiian roll and had the same issues as my roll. My daughter ordered the teriyaki chicken with rice and it was good. Everything is prepared in takeout containers and they call out numbers to pick up your orders . The girl who took our order was friendly, but I did not see any other employees. I gave it a try, but I'm sure if I'm ever back in Yuma, I'll find something else.

It was lunch and terribly noisy. We could hardly hear each other over the other tables. Too bad you can't tell the workers to use their inside voices. However, it was fine. We had two servers it seems. The first one was younger, took our order. I can't say she was unfriendly but she definitely wasn't friendly so maybe shy -- wrong job for her. The other server seemed to have a little more on the ball. My pad thai was good. It could have had a bit more moisture but it was good. The egg drop soup is delicious. I'm not sure if we'd return. It just didn't seem like a very friendly place. However, search is on for other thai restaurants in this area.
