This is my second time here after meeting Papa Robb himself at Barbee Farms. I have since tried 5 flavors of their ice cream and loved them all. The key lime is to die for! I have been bringing friends and family here since my first visit and I fully intend to make this my go-to ice cream spot. Everyone here is super nice. Golly, on a sweltering hot August day, there are few places in Concord, NC that I'd rather be, more than here at Papa Robb's. It was my first foray here, but it's quite the neighborhood hubbub, and for good reason! With play sets, plenty of parking and cool treats.... The vibe is family friendly and super cool. The artwork and tiki masks make you feel like you're at an Island Paradise. Oh and the ice cream is top notch. My mother raved about her butter pecan, and it's been awhile since I had a hot fudge sundae. I didn't like the nuts, but service was great and I enjoyed supporting this hometown staple. Ice tasted terrible and was mostly melted. As it is the only thing they serve it is clearly a joke and unprofessional. Owner yelled at me, as if I melted the ice before serving it to myself. Cute little place along poplar tent rd. They have ice cream and icees. I got the small, which was 2 scoops of ice cream. You can choose 2 different flavors, so I got brownie batter and coffee. It was really tasty and I loved the two flavors together! The place has a nice big parking lot and a lot of seating. I love that they have a little playground for kids. I went by Papa Robs for a little afternoon delight (the wholesome family kind). They were having a fundraiser for SMACK which is one of the many ways Papa Rob gives back to local groups and organizations in the area; 15% of all sales between 4 to 9pm go to the Summer Musical Arts Camp for Kids! I've been here a couple times with my daughter and she likes it alot! On our most recent visit yesterday evening my daughter played in the playground that they have. She loves the tire swing and the gymnastic bar thing (clearly I don't know what it's called) . A few things I like about this place is the amount of seating that's available. Just a ton of benches for you to sit at. Also there's some greenery where I saw some folks playing with a volleyball so that was dope. I gotta mention the ice cream right?! I ordered a cookies and cream ice cream for myself and my daughter got the watermelon bomb pop which fell apart after she chose to eat from the bottom first . She ate a good portion of it tho but it was a learning moment for her so she'll be prepared for the next time. I was surprised by how late they're open so I don't have to rush right after work to try to get there. We'll be here all spring and summer for sure! read more

I'm a huge fan of banana splits (with wet walnuts and other customizable options) so they didn't disappoint. Now I will say, I found it surprising that they didn't provide any in/outdoor seating. Disclaimer: this is not shaved ice! I made the mistake of not coming here until now because i thought all they served was shaved ice. They call it "paradise ice"-tough to describe, but a mixture of ice cream and a popsicle with a creamy texture. I came here after a Saturday morning run and got the paradise ice. It was a very refreshing treat after the run. I didn't want a lot of dairy and it was super light. I got two scoops of Orange Creamsicle which was delicious and plenty for only $3. They have ice cream, slushes, and milkshakes as well. This is a family friendly place for families, especially with younger children. They have a lot of seating area with plenty of play area for children. There is also a separate area which can be reserved for parties. I won't sleep on Papa Robb's again. read more

Came here when our first choice was unexpectedly closed. Super glad we did! I enjoyed two scoops of ice cream (cookie dough and lemon) and my fiancé tried the watermelon paradise ice. The only downside was they don't allow pets, so we ended up getting it and sitting in the car to enjoy it. I LOVED their lemon and that will probably be my go-to anytime we go back. Yes, we will be going back. I also liked the creamy texture and big flavor of my fiance's paradise ice and would be interested in trying more flavors of it. We love coming to Papa Robb's! The ice cream is from the Mooresville creamery and it is so so good! The staff is always very friendly and with the price you can't beat it! The playground is the real selling point for kids though. We love to come and get ice cream and then let the kids play on the play set until they're tired.
