I've never been to an ice cream place before which a better vibe than this. Even outside there's a gazebo and some little mall rides for the kids like it's a carnival and when you walk inside, it's decorated very retro like with a bunch of little knick knacks around the place. They have a lot of different and interesting flavors to try but I got a cup of the chocoholic. Their ice cream is very good quality and they give a lot of ice cream in a small cup which is super worth it! She was the only one working and they even have a buzzer to push if you don't see anyone behind the counter. It's clean and simple as it should be since it's about the ice cream and not much else. It's great for the family with plenty of outdoor seating - tables with umbrellas- a deck with ample seating and park benches here there and everywhere. It offers rides and a few other attractions for the little ones. My chocolate raspberry was rich and delish in a old fashioned chocolate dipped cone. SEASONAL PLANT SALE: Buyer beware! There are no prices on most plants. Signs posted with smallest pots $1.97 however, was charged $5-6 for each small plant. Ridiculously overpriced and wasn't anything special (vinca and lantana). Won't ever shop here again. Long line waiting so didn't feel like haggling -- $41 for what should have been $24. I asked for a chocolate and vanilla sold serve cone in a chocolate nut cone. The kid who prepared it apparently just poured a to of chocolate syrup over the vanilla ice cream. I took a bite and syrup dripped Everywhere All over me. I had to dump the syrup and ice cream in the garbage and tried to eat just the cone and it was not fresh at all. Step back in time at this Main Street Cornelius icon. Carolina Cones has been here for decades and for good reason: it's everyone's favorite locally owned scoop shop! Two counters with red soda shop stools, colorful vintage booths, and outdoor umbrella tables provide plenty of seating. Your favorites are here: cookie dough, mint chocolate chip, and butter pecan just to name a few. But they also serve up hot mini doughnuts, shakes, sundaes, soft serve, boats, and even Starbucks coffee. The prices are so reasonable. About $4 for a generous double scoop in a sugar cone. They even have an adjacent garden center with seasonal plants that are different than Lowes or Home Depot. I always come here for spring flowers. Sweet Little Ice Cream Shop. They have ice cream boats outta this world. Big enough to share with at least 2-3 people. Unless you have a vice for ice cream and then well... you might just eat it all. The ice cream here is smooth and creamy. Made fresh, although I am not sure that is made in shop. My favorite is the peanut butter pretzel. I typically always go for a chocolate flavor but this combination of peanut butter and pretzel is the perfect sweet and salty. So delicious. The sweet and salty caramel is good too. And I have yet to try it but they have fun flavors like superhero vanilla and play dough. Perfect, fun names for the kiddos. It's about $3 for a small serving but a small serving is plenty. They will even give you two flavors in a small. They have a train track that ride along the top of the place and my son always loves this. They have toy and candy machines a plenty and I believe they are all only $0.25 so my son thinks he is going crazy getting all these cute little new toys when all I give him is a dollar. Out front they have a gazebo that you can sit in. There is also a carousel but it is broken - but with enough human strength you can push it yourself. Awesome little ice cream shop located in vicinity to Curry's college. They offer sundaes, milkshakes, cones, soda floats, soft serve, and boats (my personal fav). There are four types of boats: Brownie, Oreo, Reese's, and Banana (shoutout CP3, LBJ, Melo, D. Wade). The brownie boat is the star here and it comes with three brownies warmed up and laid as the base. Then you can pick three flavors for your triple scoop. My three power picks are: Peanut Butter Cup (obligatory), Cookie Dough, and Cookie Monster which coincidentally all three of these flavors share tubs right next to one another on the far right hand side of the display case. That's what I call trifecta trip scoop action. Carolina Cones knows what they're doing. The ice cream is thumbs up good here. This entire boat load only costs $7.50. Granted it is down the street from a college campus. I'll rock the boat all day. Top off the scoops with some whip cream, chocolate fudge, and cherries and you got yourself a perfect NC summer time treat.
