Am a fan of Indian food, it being mixed with what I consider traditional pizzerias is a slight affront to what I expect. Signage outside had "bar" clearly displayed, which is also something I don't expect. Music playing seems Indian though not sure. Those aside am fairly impressed with the overall setup. When sat down they gave me a water and didn't ask for any drinks. When pizza was brought had to ask them for a soda, they gave me a fountain soda, which was flat. Take service was almost non existent, had to go to counter and ask for a box as well as pay, there was zero checking in. To their credit in a way I was only person there. Pizza on the other hand is pretty good. It lacks a little flavor from what I like, and flavor is a bit off, can't explain why, but it has all the necessary components in the right amounts. Plenty of cheese, sauce, pepperoni, and almost enough sausage, the flavor just doesn't pop. Crust is nothing special yet it's OK. While it's not a mind blowing experience will likely be back, most likely for takeout, and will stay away from their fountain soda. Really would prefer to give a lower rating but I think they could do a lot better so erred on the higher side, for now.

He said the order would be ready in 10 minutes, so we rushed over there. Unfortunately, it was a full 30 minutes from when he said that until when my order was actually ready (he did apologize for the wait). Note there is a sign that states the menu prices shown are for cash; credit card orders are charged 4% more. This is increasingly common, sometimes without advance warning. We shared two of my favorite dishes, Bhindi Masala and Bengan Bhurta (aka Baingan Bharta). Note that each entree comes with a very large serving of basmati rice. I also got an order of Tandoori Roti for each of us, which was perhaps a bit too much with all that rice. The Tandoori Roti was very well cooked, and tasty (we requested it without butter on top, as many places add it). The rice was also good. The Bengan Bhurta / Baingan Bharta (Eggplant Bharta) was too oily for me, and had too much smoke flavor. I have had it similarly prepared, but I prefer less smoky and less oily. Also, sometimes there are some nice, bigger pieces of Eggplant included, but not here (which is more common, I admit). The Bhindi Masala had a good flavor but, unfortunately, was visibly burned. There was nothing that resembled Okra remaining. It was also pretty oily, but not as much as the Eggplant Bharta. This should not have been served, IMO. 2.5*, but I rounded up to 3*, because it's great to have an Indian restaurant in Lynden. And also, they were very nice, and maybe a second try would be better.

District is a fave of mine in Mount Vernon, so I was eager to see if this Lynden location lived up to their og brewery. First, because you were probably wondering, YES they have the ahhhhmazing, thick-crust wood-fired pizza that District is known for. They also have the full District tap list, along with guest taps, plus cider, wine, and some NA options, too. The service was pretty friendly, too, and if you're a DB "frequent flyer" yes, your points transfer between locations. If you're looking for District beer, District pizza, District salads, and epic District wings, they've got you covered. Now, for the part that really didn't work for me: the atmosphere. It was really more like a family-friendly sports bar than chill brewery vibe. This surprised me, as (at least last time I was there!) the MV location doesn't have giant flatscreens in every room blaring the big game loudly over the sound of your pizza. I mean, if I was looking to watch a game this would be a great place to go. But I wasn't. And being as it was a quiet Sunday afternoon with literally nobody else in the place...the loud games really detracted from the whole experience. Speaking of sports, if you're a follower of local HS sports you'll love the north county-centric sports memorabilia around the restaurant! From cheerleader uniforms to football helmets, it was really eclectic and cool to see so many local youth sports stars being remembered in such a fun way. But it was still darn loud in there. Judging from the fact my og review of Overflow's Lynden location is almost 10 years old (!), I'd say it's more than time for a refresh. A lot has changed since my 2016 declaration that "beer and Lynden" are not often two words you associate with each other. Lynden now has a few hoppy outposts, including a second Overflow location on the west side. Guess I'll add that one to my list, too! This particular Sunday, we were looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a quiet beer and play a game of cribbage. I was excited to see Overflow was open (back in "the day" most Lynden businesses were closed on Sundays). We grabbed a couple of pints (just $5 ea!) and sat down for our game. The service was friendly, the place was uncrowded, and it was hard not to order a second pint before the long drive home to the Ham. Overflow, congrats on 10 years in Lynden! When I arrived, I stood there for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me, and then had to wait another 20 minutes for the food to actually be ready. There were many other customers waiting on pickup orders as well, so it clearly wasn't just a one-time issue. The waitress seemed rushed and rude, and it looked like they only had one person trying to handle a very busy holiday rush. I understand holidays are hectic, but that's exactly why people order ahead and plan in advance. Delays like this end up affecting people's time with their families and add unnecessary stress to what should be a special day. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the experience either. After the long wait and poor service, the food itself was underwhelming and not nearly worth the hassle. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, frustrating, and disappointing.
