If you want a place that looks like a Mexican restaurant, this is the place to go. The ambiance was…read moregreat and it felt like the many Mexican restaurants i have back home in Colorado. The staff was friendly and the food came out quick. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end for this restaurant. The flavor of the food was severely lacking. It was noticeable in the salsa that was served with the chips and the 2 entrees I ordered on separate occasions. The consistency of the salsa was way too liquidy, almost as if the salsa was watered down. The flavor was dull as well. The first time I came here I ordered the chinichanga and the second time I ordered chicken enchiladas. Though the chimichanga wasn't bad, it wasn't good either. The chicken enchiladas were also severely lacking in flavor and just bland. Everything needed more flavor. This all wouldn't have been so bad if the prices were reasonable but they were quite high and not worth the value. Between expensive food and dull flavors, I would not reccomend dining here until things change.

A simple "hi, be right with you" is apparently too difficult while she is taping up a bag of chips. Instead, when she deigns to acknowledge you, it is "are you ready?" I was afraid something bad would happen to my food if I didn't tip. I didn't order more even when we were still hungry and I will never return. Times are tough for everyone and we make choices with our dollars. I want my dollars to go to families and businesses who can at least pretend to appreciate their customers. Your food is good, and I'm sure it's hard work, but a little "nice" goes a long, long way. This place reflects really poorly on Stemma, too.

Worth returning, however there are many Mexican places in Bellingham still needs crossing off. Another positive is they take CC.

I visited on a weekday at noon and was the only customer. I was immediately greeted at the counter by a smiling woman. The menu was posted high on the wall and she helped me navigate the choices. I placed my order and chose a table to sit at. My order was delivered quickly, along with two sauces (one green, one red). The food was fresh, but, unfortunately noticeably "average". Nothing bad, but certainly nothing to make my taste buds notice. What I did notice, however, was there were no chips or salsa provided. For the price I paid, I could have gone to a myriad of other Mexican restaurants with table service that provided free chips and salsa. That was a lacking feature that took away from enjoying my Mexican food experience. The people were nice and the place was clean, but I doubt I will return. I wish them well. Adios.
