I give a three because the food was excellent, and the drink was nice. I did not have a good experience with the waiter who made it very difficult for me to understand the happy hour and said there was no written menu of happy hour for me to look at. He seemed extremely impatient and just wanted me to order the special. read more

Wow! We have been here several times over the years and forget about it because it's in a strip mall but once you go inside, you immediately forget that! So there is a crazy parking lot but the location is great, food is great, service super!! Large and comfortable booths. Super private bar in the very back (with its on enclosure). We are going to try and come more regularly as we love this place and it's always been a great experience! read more

Good food and service. Nice family restaurant. Busy, so a good indicator. Several good daily specials. I recommend these. Portions are large so split or take some home. read more

I was super excited to grab food out tonight and found this strip mall establishment in lynden I ordered the super nachos with beef to go.. comes with the basic fixins got home and was extremely pissed it was a pile of the worst hamburger grease on chips I've ever had... half cup of grease in the bottom of the to-go box I ate a few bites and have been in agony ever since hey good tip for your restaurant if you're listening don't use sub par ingredients that are old and on their way out they make us sick i won't feed the other 3/4 of a meal I have here to my dogs nor recommend this to anyone read more

Great family restaurant. Food is good. People are friendly. Always a great place to eat.

Happy hour Margaritas are only $2.99 and they're delicious! The chips and salsa they serve you is also pretty good. I didn't get any meals to try as this was a quick stop. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. I will be returning to try some of their entrees. read more

Not a bad option for Mexican Food in Lynden. We liked our enchiladas, and they were reasonably priced. Looking forward to going back for one of their happy hour sales! read more

El Ranchito - Cheese enchiladas - Mexican Near Me - Lynden, Washington

Enjoyed a beef fajita plate for 2 at $25. The beef fajita was more American-style beef as opposed to perhaps the more traditional carne asada. However, it was still tasty, and the onions nice and crispy. Even for a big eater, there was still plenty to split between 2. read more

This sucked. The food was beyond disgusting. We waited only 7 minutes for our food to come out. The plates were boiling hot to the touch. I had ordered a expresso burrito, it came out with a strange green sauce all around it and it had a weird stretchy film on it. It had chicken and rice in it, which both tasted like they came out of the can. My boyfriend ordered a chicken enchilada, and it was a sad excuse for an enchilada. It was wet, and also tasted like it came out of a can. I took one bite of it and almost puked, i had no idea how my boyfriend was able to eat at least 3/4ths of it. He mustve been forcing himself too to make the waiter feel better about himself. Both of our food looked like it had been eaten by someone else and then puked up onto our plates. Tasted like it too. When we were ready to pay, the waiter brought out two tiny dessert which consisted of a tortilla chip and a spoonful of mango ice cream or something of that sort. It also had whipped cream on it. Assuming the waiter gave it to us because he could see we did not enjoy the food. This sucked ass. Don't go here. If you want good Mexican, go to Cancun its just down the road. Don't sacrifice your time and money on this. read more

Large table... I ordered carne asada tacos. Several others ordered carne asada entrees with beans and rice. Their meat looked like jerky, cooked hard, curled up and over done. My carne asada tacos were not marinated, no salsa verde, onions, jalapenos or sliced radishes. The carne asada tacos I had were the same dried out meat only chopped up. Not marinated or seasoned, plain overdone meat on a tortilla. Friendly service, good pico de gallo and salsa. But you guys should know how to do carne asada it's a no brainer for a Mexican restaurant. Check out YouTube. read more

I like this restaurant well enough. Amazing food that makes my taste buds scream with joy? Not quite, standard Mexican food that is in alignment with most establishments locally. My enchiladas were good, but tasted very much the same as those offered by competitors. Service was great. The hosting and service was provided by one very hard working and attentive employee. With all of the above information, despite the food being much the same as others, I would choose El Ranchito for my next Mexican dining experience. Why? Because El Ranchito isn't trying to present itself as something more than it is. The atmosphere is relaxing. Pleasant music, painted walls, mismatched (not kitchy) dishes, and appropriate social distancing. read more

Best Mexican Food! Me and my family have been coming here for 25+ years! Friendly family atmosphere. They treat us like family! We love them here! read more

Quiet disappointed. Normally the food is good and I get a lot for the price. Ordered the beef fajitas for 2 to go and there was maybe 2 spoonfuls of very hard to chew meat and the rest was raw onions with 1 piece of green pepper. It was disgusting. I'm hoping that it was a one off or that maybe they got a new cook who.is still learning read more

My friend ordered chicken and shrimp fajita, I got beef taco and enchilada. The fajita was delicious and my meal was perfect. Both salsas were eaten up with the cabbage one outstanding. Service was adequate. Female who seated us was appeared to be offended we were there. Waiter seemed anxious to please and checked with us often. Love the atmosphere. read more

I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but I am always full and happy when I leave this restaurant! I ordered the Burrito Cancun and was very satisfied with it. I managed to eat everything except for some of the beans and rice, so there was plenty of food (for me). The staff were constantly checking up on us and brought out 2 extra rounds of chips for our table of 8! I do think some accent lighting would really help out the atmosphere, but other than that, I had a great visit! read more

Don't expect them to be quiet at peak dining hour, couldn't even hear my friend for a conversation. Love the food, their seafood enchiladas are the best. Only place that gives you a free bite of dessert so that's definitely a bonus. Service is rather exceptional for this kind of restaurant. read more

I did a Door Dash order, and ordered a chicken entrée but ended up getting ground beef. It was very greasy like they didn't drain the fat from the meat, and I couldn't finnish it, because it was so bad. Rice was also very bland. read more

I can say that ate the worst enchiladas ever in my life, I'm very disappointed, this is not true Mexican food. The enchiladas together with rice and beans and my wife's chicken flautas had no flavor. At first I thought I had Covid, I tried other food after and I can taste the food. What a waste of my money and time trying this place. read more

Food is so good and tasty, service is very great and everyone that works there are nice people

It was delicious! We had so much fun with our server. He was really funny and super nice! So accommodating of our large party with short waits for our food :) Couldn't have asked for better service and we were even offered complimentary desserts! My dad, especially, wants to come back soon. read more

Perfect bar and food! Surprisingly affordable as well. Muy bueno stop when I had an hour to kill.

Been here a few times, it's just ok. Any type of meat you get is over cooked. Rice isn't anything special. Beans are average. Twice I've ordered a pina colata, twice they have been out of pina colata's. They use canned jalapeños in the pico and canned tomato sauce in the salsa. I wish they would use fresh ingredients. If you want average tasting Mexican food, you'll love this place. The people are really nice. read more

My entire family has been going here for 20+ years. They are the most amazing and welcoming place. It feels like going home. The food is excellent and plentiful! Pollo Con Crema is my personal favorite. Their Pico De Gaio is the bomb!!! They have catered for us and it is just as plentiful and delicious as going into the restaurant. Serviano is simply the best!! I wish I could give it 10 stars!!!! read more

Half way decent food. Very, very slow service. They forgot beans and rice in one dish. Rice very bland. Had to ask for refill on chips

This is owned by a great family that is involved in their community! The food is tasty and their salsa is fantastic!

My family visited here on a Sunday for lunch. The service was okay. The good was nothing special though. No sour cream or guacamole on traditional dishes like carne asada. Etc. Refills on chips and drinks never happened. They made an error on our bill as well. Not a fan. read more

Excellent service, good food, and pick de Gallo. First time dining here. Had the combination platter. My crispy beef taco was crispy, and not soggy-I hate getting a taco that falls apart because the enchilada sauce spread and disrupted my crunch. But, nit here. It was crispy, and delicious. My beef enchilada was good, and not greasy with tons of cheese. Do not like cheesy enchiladas with very little beef, not to worry here, I had plenty of beef and little cheese. Overall my plate was delicious and my partner was happy with his grilled steak-carne asada. We had great, fast service. And, even got a complimentary dessert. We will be back, it was good. read more

Used to be one of the hottest places in town. Every weekend night would be packed with customers. Tables of huge groups, if you were celebrating then you usually went here. Now when I go here it's always very quiet, not many people at all, and the staff seems very complacent. It's the same family since day one and honestly you get the feeling that they are just sick and tired of doing the same thing. They also can be over the top checking on you when it's slow. We were asked 10 times if everything was ok in a 15 minute time frame. It was ridiculous. Food used to be incredible but now seems very rushed with no time being invested in the quality or look of the food. read more

Took my family of 5 here for a Mexican dinner. While "not bad" is how we all described it, I want to list the pros and cons here. And yes, I've had "real" Mexican food enough to know what it is. Service was quick and friendly Salsa had an OK flavor, but it was both watery and chunky and not well-blended All plates were delivered to our table promptly and the food (and plates) were hot. Food was a bit on the bland side, but this may be due to the fact that they are trying to offer "real" Mexican food. There were quite a few gnats flying around during our meal, making it difficult to enjoy or relax. Sadly, I don't think we'll be back. read more

Fast and good food. Pico is the best!! Totally recommend this place. Great service too.

We stopped in after the Lyndon Fair not aware that they were closed for 20 minutes already but we were welcomed in and served as though it were regular hours, with no sense of being rushed. The food was good but the service great, very accommodating and on spot. The family is friendly and in my opinion top notch. There might be better places to eat but this family is one of a kind and make you feel welcomed. read more

First time guest here tonight. Recently moved here from CA, so I'm very familiar with Mexican food. This was REALLY good. I've tried two other places here in Lynden and I think this may be my new favorite. I was a little disappointed that they were out of guacamole, saying the avocados weren't ripe. But they made up for it when the fried ice cream for dessert arrived-delish! read more

Perhaps the best Mexican food I've ever eaten and i've lived in the SouthWest for years. The other reviewers must not know what REAL Mexican food is supposed to taste like. I've been here several times while visiting family in Lynden and have found the service to be delightful. They often have great specials as well. read more

I like that they give you small complimentary dishes - the tortilla chips at the beginning (hey, they didn't have to) and the sweet flour tortillas with chopped strawberries on top at the end. My dish was alright - not absurdly good, not horrendous. I do want to mention that the lettuce appeared to be this cheap, vaguely inedible coleslaw that I thought I could only find on Korean fast food side dishes, in Korea. And the avocados were..definitely not their specialty. I do not have complaints, though, about their shrimp or mushrooms, which is what I had. I give this a so-so. read more
