Border Town Pizza serves excellent pizza. The crust was perfectly crisp with just the right amount of char, the tomato sauce tasted fresh, and the toppings were well balanced without being overloaded. If I had one minor suggestion, it would be to go just a touch lighter on the cheese. We also ordered the house salad, and the lettuce was exceptionally fresh and crisp. Our only real disappointment was the beer selection. The draft list is extremely limited, and while they do offer a few canned beers, the selection is very narrow. If I could make one suggestion to the owner, it would be to expand the canned beer offerings. We'd love to see a wider variety of styles, including a good pilsner and, for those of us who enjoy them, a barrel-aged stout. The pizza alone is absolutely worth the visit. read more

We had organized a caterer (award winning chef from Bellingham) for a baby shower/party. 2 hours before the event he canceled out. We called Bordertown Pizza. We were in the process of moving and there was a day (a Monday maybe?) where everything in the area was closed but NOT Border Town Pizza! Pizza is not something we eat on the regular but we have had it a few times lately and Border Town is the best we have found! I can't recall the name of the one we order but I think it involved garlic and maybe chicken? It was delicious!! Unlike other places, the crust was perfection!! We called in our order and we were greeted warmly when we walked in! The restaurant is large inside and appears to have a salad bar? We will have to go back for more. Thanks Border Town!! Inedible. Had to call to see if they actually had my order after waiting for over an hour. No conformation. Meatballs dry, sauce cooked to nothng w/burnt edges. Apple strudel big slab of dough "stuffed with 1/8" covering of canned apple goo. Bread sticks "dripping in garlic and butter" another slab of dough not cooked through that was butter/garlic free. $40 into the garbage. Also tried the lasagne a couple of months ago. Excellent pizza, definitely in my top 10. Really enjoy the ambiance and local feel, no tourist trap stuff here, thankfully! Pizza was full of flavor, extremely enjoyable. Have only had pizza so far and will definitely be back. Couple minor things, personal preference, could've used a bit more sauce and I'm not a fan of the crust yet flavor overcame that and sure others like the crust more. The pizza is GREAT! Hand tossed and fresh ingredients. It's a very nice comforting food when on resort for a few days. We took it back to resort for kid and added the meatball sandwich and wings. All were great. Next time may have kid come with us and eat in the shop where it's hot out of the oven Plenty of parking and plenty of seating. Prices very reasonable. read more

I was impressed! Walked by (with no intent to order) and no tables were occupied but like to support local businesses...placed a take out order for a Large Suprema. Good crust, nice spread of fresh toppings and the sausage gave it a kick which was wonderful. Too often a pizza like this either has too much or too little....was a very good balance. My family and I love this place. We order every Friday night. Pizza is as Italian as it gets here. Service is amazing and top notch. They opened a half hour earlier than usual to make my son his own pizza to share with his friends at school. Completely different level of customer service!! My son was thrilled. my parents owned 4 Italian restaurants in Vancouver, and the ambiance is improving for a sit down restaurant. I did give him some tips on how to make it more authentic and want people to sit, eat and drink and feel like they are in a little place in Italy. read more

My friend and I had the pleasure of visiting Border Town pizza for the first time. Laura (the owner) was just wonderful and our pizza was FANTASTIC! My friend and I are vegans, so we ordered it without cheese, and Laura said they're going to start using vegan cheese soon! Even without the cheese, the pizza was exquisite! Last time. We have ordered delivery way too many times to accept cold, chewy, sub par pizza, but we kept hoping it would get better. Wanted to support local pizza but we are done. Cant't even get our house number correct no matter how many times we tell them to correct. Just paid $40 for a medium pizza that was, as said, dry, chewy, cold, and although we paid extra for toppings including mozzarella, it was like eating cardboard. read more

This is my favorite pizza place in town. It has great pizza and smells divine whenever you go in. The service is always friendly and accomodating. I like the lunchtime pizza and salad combo. If you go in early, they will often ask what kind of pizza you prefer on the buffet, which they don't have to do, but sure is kind. And they have great parking either in front of the restaurant or in the side lot. read more

Called to order Hawaiian and received their Hula (Hawaiian w/bacon) ~15 minutes later. Restaurant was empty when I arrived but the pizza was ready and hot. Laura is the heart and soul behind Border Town Pizza. She has single-handedly delivered the most amazing, authentic Italian-American dishes to her beloved community in Blaine. Pizza is her absolute passion, working in this niche industry for almost 20 years. As a matter of fact, her very first job was in a pizza shop in Fairhaven! There is definitely at least one back room, but the main dining room is a bright, airy space that has access to a patio where may even be some live music playing. The tables are gorgeous - all live edge, which might create a bit of an issue if you have short arms and are used to stealing bites across the table, but they are absolutely beautiful and a nice nod to the area. The wine list is extensive and a bit overwhelming, but the service is happy, friendly, and very knowledgeable. In fact, I love when servers don't know, admit it, and find the answer for you - it's humble and shows they really care at getting you what you want. We got the orange wine, which is a new favorite of mine. It's like a rose for reds. Rose:White::Orange:Red. More savory, still light, and best chilled. We had the beet hummus app, which is definitely best eaten with your hands. It's light and delicious. We had the miso black cod, a personal favorite, and the lasagna for dinner and while both were good, the accoutrements with the cod were the true standout. Amazing and I could probably eat two of them. As the restaurant operates on a seasonal menu, we had a strawberry rhubarb cobbler for dessert. I know there is Sunday Brunch, and I can't wait to try it. It's not the cheapest, but it's one of the nicer restaurants in Whatcom, and is definitely worth your pennies. Everything about it makes for a truly nice experience, and we'll definitely be back.

The pie, ordered plain, NY style, without a disgusting, big chewy wad of cheese, and well done. Well done being having the edges and bottom a tad charred. The sauce was good, and the amount of cheese was appropriate, but the "crispy" (their term) was not quite there. The edge crust was dark brown but had no charring, and the bottom was in the same condition. The crust was thicker than I care for, but they are machine-made and understandable in a production line operation. You can't have a speedy pizza that's hand-thrown. The parking lot had only two open spots when I got there, and only one other customer, so I assume that the rest of the cars were employees or delivery drivers. The parking itself is a bit awkward, in that there is a paved bicycle path on the roadside, with a curb on the inside of the path, which limits the room available for maneuvering. Not a friendly situation for a large pickup or some such. Also, when pulling in, if you ignore the inside curb of the bike path, you might run into it and do something to your front end.

They were some of the best things I've ever put in my mouth--ever! Perfectly cooked, huge and moist and so flavorful. Their cocktail menu is great with lots of choices--we loved our drinks. Simple, classic, and done well. Husband said the sauce is a smidge more tangy than he would like but it's a dang good slice. But the true star discovery? You can buy a pint of their homemade ranch dressing. Yes. A pint. It's $9 and lasts about a week in the fridge and honestly... it might ruin all other ranch for you. There is nothing worse than bad ranch with good pizza, and this stuff is legit homemade and dangerously good. Some people might think buying a pint of ranch with pizza is a little unhinged. Signage outside had "bar" clearly displayed, which is also something I don't expect. Music playing seems Indian though not sure. Those aside am fairly impressed with the overall setup. When sat down they gave me a water and didn't ask for any drinks. When pizza was brought had to ask them for a soda, they gave me a fountain soda, which was flat. Take service was almost non existent, had to go to counter and ask for a box as well as pay, there was zero checking in. To their credit in a way I was only person there. Pizza on the other hand is pretty good. It lacks a little flavor from what I like, and flavor is a bit off, can't explain why, but it has all the necessary components in the right amounts. Plenty of cheese, sauce, pepperoni, and almost enough sausage, the flavor just doesn't pop. Crust is nothing special yet it's OK. While it's not a mind blowing experience will likely be back, most likely for takeout, and will stay away from their fountain soda. Really would prefer to give a lower rating but I think they could do a lot better so erred on the higher side, for now.

He said the order would be ready in 10 minutes, so we rushed over there. Unfortunately, it was a full 30 minutes from when he said that until when my order was actually ready (he did apologize for the wait). Note there is a sign that states the menu prices shown are for cash; credit card orders are charged 4% more. This is increasingly common, sometimes without advance warning. We shared two of my favorite dishes, Bhindi Masala and Bengan Bhurta (aka Baingan Bharta). Note that each entree comes with a very large serving of basmati rice. I also got an order of Tandoori Roti for each of us, which was perhaps a bit too much with all that rice. The Tandoori Roti was very well cooked, and tasty (we requested it without butter on top, as many places add it). The rice was also good. The Bengan Bhurta / Baingan Bharta (Eggplant Bharta) was too oily for me, and had too much smoke flavor. I have had it similarly prepared, but I prefer less smoky and less oily. Also, sometimes there are some nice, bigger pieces of Eggplant included, but not here (which is more common, I admit). The Bhindi Masala had a good flavor but, unfortunately, was visibly burned. There was nothing that resembled Okra remaining. It was also pretty oily, but not as much as the Eggplant Bharta. This should not have been served, IMO. 2.5*, but I rounded up to 3*, because it's great to have an Indian restaurant in Lynden. And also, they were very nice, and maybe a second try would be better.
