I'll start by saying I'm from NY...only to say I've had a lot of pizza in my life and have a subconscious habit to compare every slice to one another. This pizza (Square Pepperoni Dream w/ hot honey (add on)) was maybe the best pizza I've ever had. The medium was four big slices with a crisp delicate crust like no other, a mix of crunchy and slightly soft quality pepperoni, stretchy mozzarella cheese, and a perfect red sauce that wasn't acidic. The server (sorry, girl, didn't get your name) was helpful and honest about the build your own (gets pricey if you customize substitute). The ambience is very cool with great beer options. Located in downtown Bellingham by my hotel (Hotel Leo). Even has EV chargers in the lot. Hoping to return to Bellingham just to try more pizzas. read more

This might be some of the best pizza I've had in Washington, and I say that as someone from the East Coast who takes pizza very seriously. While there are a few great slices in Seattle, Fiamma is easily in my top three pizzas in Washington. We've stopped here twice now after biking up in Bellingham (shoutout to Transition Bikes Outpost), and it's the perfect post-ride stop. Grab a brew, order a pizza, and relax. First off, the service has been great both times. Everyone is kind, friendly, and efficient. It's been busy each time we visited, but pizzas still came out in about 15-20 minutes, which feels completely reasonable for a quality pizza spot. The second time we ordered takeout and it was ready in about 10 minutes, which was awesome. One thing I really appreciate is that you can order a medium pizza with two different halves. That's perfect when you're trying a new place and want to sample more than one style. We tried a few different things: * The Rossa pizza (small to-go) - This was my personal favorite. As an East Coast girl, I'm always searching for a good tomato pie and this scratched that itch. I ordered a small, took some home, and honestly... it was amazing cold the next day. If you know, you know. Next time I might ask for a little less garlic and extra sauce, but overall it was fantastic. * POTATO GORGONZOLA & FENNEL SAUSAGE - I'm a sucker for potatoes on pizza. This one leaned a little sweeter than I expected, but still really interesting and worth trying. The rosemary on it was top notch. * Cheesy SQ Pie - My husband ordered this. It wasn't his absolute favorite style, but it was still a really solid rendition of deep dish and definitely worth trying if you like that style. * "Big Kid" cheese pizza - You really can't go wrong here. Simple, classic, and done well. Husband said the sauce is a smidge more tangy than he would like but it's a dang good slice. But the true star discovery? You can buy a pint of their homemade ranch dressing. Yes. A pint. It's $9 and lasts about a week in the fridge and honestly... it might ruin all other ranch for you. There is nothing worse than bad ranch with good pizza, and this stuff is legit homemade and dangerously good. Some people might think buying a pint of ranch with pizza is a little unhinged. I personally think it's a brilliant life decision. All in all, Fiamma has become a must-stop whenever we're in Bellingham. Half of the pizza was excellent (the Sofia - The FIAMMA favorite. Tomato sauce, mozzarella blend, prosciutto, red onions, fresh rosemary and freshly cracked black pepper) . The other half -- the Charred Tomato White Pie (Herbed white sauce, mozzarella blend, chèvre, charred grape tomatoes and roasted garlic) was just super soggy - not good. Maybe I should have not ordered a 50/50???? At least they tried to make it right by crediting me some $ for the pizza I didn't like too much after I complained it was inedible. We picked this out well before our weekend trip to Bellingham. Not only was the service great the pizza as well as the salad(yes the salad) was what we were both looking for. We got here right as they opened. The greeter/server was very nice and inviting. The place was very clean and open. It took us a while to scan through the menu(so much PIZZA!). We finally picked out a few. My wife ordered the lunch special(a salads and small pizza for less than $20), she picked the Forester as her pizza. I was thrown off by asparagus but let me tell you, It was DELICIOUS. Also not to take anything away from the salad, because it was probably one of the best salads either of us had. Both the sides of ranch and sun dried tomato dressing were fresh and tasty. We ordered a square pizza that was not to my wife's liking, but I thought it was great. The crust looked thick, but it was all cheesy on the inside. But very filling. I myself ordered the PPJ add sausage(a medium). Well they messed up and brought out a small. The server apologized and said they would make an additional small to accommodate the size differential. It was fine with me! After finished the small the server came back with a medium version, and promptly said we're all over the place today. I felt like it was my birthday! In the end they decided to just charge me for the small and include the medium. Either way I was absolutely satisfied with everything. Both my wife and I were. I can begin to describe why the salad itself was so good, but so was each of the pizzas we ordered. We left full(very) and happy and pizza to enjoy later. I don't like to leave negative reviews. great pizza but.. after being put on hold for 15 minutes we called back and she tried to hold again. we understand we are in business. when we picked up food we asked for 2 beers to go and after staring at the beer fridge we said we will take anything. we paid 75.44 and sat down to have one piece. the same person came by I asked if we could have some napkins and ok to sit in a two top table there we lots available. Very very good pizza. The exterior crust was crispy and the interior was airy, we got a square pizza with Mushroom, white sauce, and asparagus, it was delicious. Came here for dinner and it wasn't worth the price or the wait (40 minutes on a Tuesday evening). We got the Fiona pizza with no olives and a small raclette mac and cheese. However, the pizza was only just okay. I wish we were given more toppings near the edges of the pizza (it was plain cheese and sauce for an inch around). The crust was also WAY too big. The dough was a little tough for my soft mouth. For nearly $40 I was expecting so much more. I'd rather go to a fast-food pizza chain. Service was great and friendly. There was a hiccup with their texting system though--I didn't get a text when our table was ready and nobody called our names while we were sitting in the waiting area. Fair warning that the artichoke dip is significant in size, almost equating to a whole pizza. The vegetarian and hot honey pepperoni were tasty as well, both at the restaurant and when heated up as lunch leftovers the following week. Unique to this place is also their bottomless rosemary lemonade, and our waitress was kind enough to bring us a whole pitcher once we had gone through our first glass. They also have a good selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well. The 1 star deduction is for the slightly higher cost (~$23 for a medium pizza), and the longer wait for food, both being completely understandable. I have been trying to find a "wood-fired" pizza joint for a while. There are none where I live, so I've been on the lookout for one relatively close by. I found one in Langley, WA but they are a To Go only restaurant. I understand why a restaurant would opt for that during these times of Covid, but I prefer to dine in. So I kept looking and I finally found one in Bellingham, La Fiamma Wood Fire Pizza. I found out they open at 11am so I timed my arrival to be around Noon. I arrived around 12:15 to a mostly empty restaurant! There were only 3 tables (out of about 20) that were occupied inside and 2 or 3 more that were occupied outside. The host asked if I wanted an I side table or an outside one. I chose to dine inside. After looking at the menu I ordered the Brooklyn Bridge pizza. It has pepperoni, sausage, red bell peppers, mushrooms, and olives with a few more ingredients that I forget. For my drink I decided to inquire about the Rotating Cider offering and was told it was Spicy Pear. I was intrigued but wasn't sure if I would like it, so I asked if I could have a sample. The server said sure! And brought a shot glass filled with the cider (about 1.5 ounces). I was impressed with the taste and ordered the Spicy Pear cider. The pizza was served about ten minutes later and was absolutely delicious! My only complaint is I have to travel an hour, one way, to enjoy this wonderful pizza. Ah well, it's a nice reason to go for a motorcycle ride! In case anyone is wondering, this is a family-friendly restaurant.
