    Date night!
    Jennifer J.

D'Anna's is a true Bellingham staple that I've visited again and again over the years. And they've stayed pretty much the same that entire time - from their delish Italian food to their friendly service, their great reputation among locals is well-deserved. Lately, D'Anna's has become a tried-and-true favorite for date night. We love to go on a weeknight, when they're less busy, and bring our own bottle of wine (they charge a very fair $20 corkage fee), then just enjoy our dinners. My favorite is their ravioli and their amazing homemade meatballs. Recently I tried their pasta dish featuring mushrooms with a vodka cream sauce and it was over-the-top delish. They also have HUGE portions here; always enough to take home for the next day's lunch. And their service is consistently fast and friendly. Okay, now I'm officially craving pasta again!

Amazing house made pasta! I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and it was amazing. It's the first time I've had nuts in a pasta and the combo was delicious. My husband got the Spicy Scampi and loved it, it was not very spicy. My bro and sis tried the ravioli sampler and the lasagne. Everything was so good. The portion on the lasagne was huge. Our cocktails and desserts were also top notch! The service was very friendly and good and the restaurant is classy and cute!

Absolutely fantastic meal with over the top service and food that was from scratch and to savor. You walk in and are immediately hit by the aroma of cooking garlic and herbs. The kitchen is exposed to the dining area so you get to sneak peak at all of the tasty options coming off the line. The gluten free pasta is made in house and is a blend of beetroot and rice flower. It's absolutely fantastic. It has a tinge of sweetness but unlike most gf pasta is a nice delicate al dente tender. The marinara sauce is rich and flavorful without being heavy. Absolutely delectable meal and can't recommend more for a from scratch italian style experience.

Wonderful find while in Bellingham. Cute little Italian restaurant that was SO delicious. I ordered the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti in oil and it was delicious and I took home leftovers that were even better reheated. Our server was great. I really liked you got your own individual salad and bread also, the meal and the paintings on the wall for sale by local artists and great staff and food made for the perfect anniversary dinner! Off street metered parking right out front on a Monday night no problem.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. My husband will drive 40 minutes to pick up food from here and bring it back home to me every time I want it, IT'S THAT GOOD. He is also gluten free, so normally I get gf so he can have my leftovers, but the other night I got normal pasta..I honestly think the gluten free was even better!!! Our go to is the shitake vodka chicken pasta. They used to have bruscellone and maybe one day I'll stumble across it again. I have reservations on March 14th and am bringing all my friends for my birthday to show them this amazing little spot!

My companion and I arrived during Happy Hour and these two selections are on that menu, so we had them again--and I guess the utility of this review is to say that these selections continue to be consistently delicious and that this is a wonderful place. We also shared an Afogato--vanilla gelato with decaf espresso poured over! Perfect, quite light after our meal and beautiful enough to paint as a watercolor. This is one of our easy go-to's when looking to dine out. We were happily helped by friendly bartenders, Nicole and Sie, who made great recommendations and great drinks for us. I especially loved the Mario Cicotti cocktail (an interesting variant of an Old Fashioned--including tobacco bitters and charred orange peel!--very interesting). And we enjoyed the beautiful, warm Montepulciano Nicole recommended. And they concocted a surprise drink for my dessert--I can't recall what it was--but it was lovely and came with a bunch of hearts! Consistently wonderful place in all ways, with lots of heart itself. In my opinion, what's not to love?

Makes my family want to come back because unlike the rest of Bellingham this place is accessibility friendly. The patio doors didn't really need to be opened where bugs could come in. They had really good AC so it seemed odd all the doors were open. ‍ Now for the food. The bread was good the olive oil was high quality with fresh garlic. The salad was really good. However I got the prawn arancini & unfortunately I don't recommend it. The flavors were fine but it was the oiliest food I've ever had since I was a child. It was like the old school pizzas that you could ring the oil out of. I took it home & made a bowl of rice added lemon peel & lemon juice some basil & black pepper & it was 100% better. But at the restaurant they don't have that. I do plan on coming back to try other stuff because I honestly think it's going to be a fav place. The ambience is hard to judge cause there were only 3 tables when I went in. I didn't use the restroom so I have idea. Parking is fairly easy. My guy has some physical challenges. With hardly a word, Victoria set about hoisting (heavy) chairs to ensure his comfort. It would have been easy to send us to that particular table where the chairs were, but the original one she chose for us had lovely greenery (Ginko Biloba tree!) and pleasant ambience, so she truly went above and beyond. Meg materialized next, and we started peppering her with questions. She confessed she was new--and she was determined to help us and gave us wonderful advice, as did Asher who was helpful to us in a special way as well. When we ordered the linguine al limone, he apologized that they had served the last helping. As we were reconsidering our options, he jetted to the kitchen and returned. "If you don't mind waiting thirty minutes..." he said. We did and, as it turned out, he knew this would be of some cost to him as he was delayed being able to clock out which he had been eager to do. He also did us a second special kindness. So we could have eaten porridge with sticks in it--the staff made our evening! And fortunately, we had much, much better than porridge and sticks! We, though only two, sampled a huge number of dishes--each five stars and beyond: Italian deviled eggs; stuffed mushrooms with pesto and a lovely, flavorful arugula salad; the aforementioned linguine al limone which was to die for; margherita flatbread which was to my liking--not too much of anything, but perfect amount for maximal flavor; Italian roasted shrimp in olive oil and seasonings that was so delicious that I asked for a spoon to get it all; and, lovely olive oil cake. My understanding is that Chef Aeyre was on. The staff clearly loved and praised her. We were so fortunately to be the lucky recipients of her talents. The wines were lovely; the atmosphere too. Upon their arrival, our notions of pizza were shattered. These were big slices of cake! (Website says Roman-style--we've been to Rome, but these exquisite things were very different.) Totally yummy. As was the warm chocolate chip cookie--divine. (Funny story: I didn't have my readers on. I thought the price was $25. "That's quite a cookie!" I thought, imagining one as large as a pizza--which, incidentally, would have been more expensive than their full pizzas! I looked over the Happy Hour menu, planning a future return. The cookie on the HH menu was only $2. A savings, I excitedly told our bartenders, Miyuki and Montana, of $23!!! No, they told me: 50 cents. I hadn't been able to see the dot.) And speaking of our barkeeps, I am so glad we sat up at the bar. They were wholly delightful and friendly. We very much enjoyed chatting with them. | Fiamma Pizza in Bellingham, WA…read more I've officially been here twice now and I can confidently say... I'm in love. This might be some of the best pizza I've had in Washington, and I say that as someone from the East Coast who takes pizza very seriously. While there are a few great slices in Seattle, Fiamma is easily in my top three pizzas in Washington. We've stopped here twice now after biking up in Bellingham (shoutout to Transition Bikes Outpost), and it's the perfect post-ride stop. Grab a brew, order a pizza, and relax. First off, the service has been great both times. Everyone is kind, friendly, and efficient. It's been busy each time we visited, but pizzas still came out in about 15-20 minutes, which feels completely reasonable for a quality pizza spot. The second time we ordered takeout and it was ready in about 10 minutes, which was awesome. One thing I really appreciate is that you can order a medium pizza with two different halves. That's perfect when you're trying a new place and want to sample more than one style. We tried a few different things: * The Rossa pizza (small to-go) - This was my personal favorite. As an East Coast girl, I'm always searching for a good tomato pie and this scratched that itch. I ordered a small, took some home, and honestly... it was amazing cold the next day. If you know, you know. Next time I might ask for a little less garlic and extra sauce, but overall it was fantastic. * POTATO GORGONZOLA & FENNEL SAUSAGE - I'm a sucker for potatoes on pizza. This one leaned a little sweeter than I expected, but still really interesting and worth trying. The rosemary on it was top notch. * Cheesy SQ Pie - My husband ordered this. It wasn't his absolute favorite style, but it was still a really solid rendition of deep dish and definitely worth trying if you like that style. * "Big Kid" cheese pizza - You really can't go wrong here. Simple, classic, and done well. Husband said the sauce is a smidge more tangy than he would like but it's a dang good slice. But the true star discovery? You can buy a pint of their homemade ranch dressing. Yes. A pint. It's $9 and lasts about a week in the fridge and honestly... it might ruin all other ranch for you. There is nothing worse than bad ranch with good pizza, and this stuff is legit homemade and dangerously good. Some people might think buying a pint of ranch with pizza is a little unhinged. I personally think it's a brilliant life decision. All in all, Fiamma has become a must-stop whenever we're in Bellingham. Great pizza, great service, quick turnaround, and the kind of place you start craving the second you leave. 10/10 will be coming here again!

Half of the pizza was excellent (the Sofia - The FIAMMA favorite. Tomato sauce, mozzarella blend, prosciutto, red onions, fresh rosemary and freshly cracked black pepper) . The other half -- the Charred Tomato White Pie (Herbed white sauce, mozzarella blend, chèvre, charred grape tomatoes and roasted garlic) was just super soggy - not good. Maybe I should have not ordered a 50/50???? At least they tried to make it right by crediting me some $ for the pizza I didn't like too much after I complained it was inedible. I'm also not a huge fan of dogs in restaurants -- that's just me. I might come back again to give them another shot someday, who knows.

I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! These were so delicious I ordered two more batches to have at home. Lovely espresso martini to end it all.

Stopped by Bellingham to grab a quick lunch after hiking to Fragrance Lake. As a cat lover this…read morerestaurant really had me at the name already lol. I was happy to see steamed clams on the menu. I grew up eating fresh steamed seafood for dinner, so battered fried seafood that is more common here hasn't really grown on me yet. To me fried seafood is a fancy version of chicken nuggets. I loved the clams, so light but bland. The sauce is full of umami flavor, drizzled with some fresh lemon juice, it was like a summery beachy afternoon in a bowl. I could easily dip a loaf of toast with it if I had one. The clams were fresh and meaty, nothing to complain about with this dish. My partner had the grilled cheese, and he said it was mid. He's vegetarian, and I don't like cheese, so I didn't bother to try any of his meal to do my own fact check. The staff were friendly too. Overall, this is a nice place to grab lunch when visiting Bellingham.
