A local favorite, a little bit off the beaten path, but worse looking for it. Very friendly and timely service, really good food, and a great menu that everybody will find something on that they like. If you're vegan, that last comment may be inaccurate ;-). You gotta try the milkshakes, this reminds me of what I was used to growing up at some of the great family restaurants in the 1970s. Outstanding! The interior of the restaurant is decorated with an eclectic Western theme and your eyes will never get tired of looking for all the details. Our granddaughter loved it! And so did the grandparents and my dad. We'll be back.

It turned out as we expected, but we optimistically hoped for more…read more I had the prime rib, which I had been craving. It was okay, but not something I'd order again. The horse radish was pretty generic and didn't have any "punch" to it. The Caesar salad lettuce was a bit wilted and too much dressing. The loaded baked potato was okay. My son enjoyed his clam chowder. The pot pie was rather small for $20! It was not enjoyed. Unfortunately, a frozen Marie Calendars is better. Two people ordered this and didn't eat them all. Salad bar is pretty underwhelming. The star here is the peanut butter chocolate shake! Yum! Service was attentive and friendly. Parking: Quite a few spots that go all the way around the building, but was a bit full on a Friday night.

This year, my "26 in 26" goal is to visit new-to-me local businesses (or re-visit ones I haven't…read morebeen to in awhile). Judging from the fact my og review of Overflow's Lynden location is almost 10 years old (!), I'd say it's more than time for a refresh. A lot has changed since my 2016 declaration that "beer and Lynden" are not often two words you associate with each other. Lynden now has a few hoppy outposts, including a second Overflow location on the west side. Guess I'll add that one to my list, too! This particular Sunday, we were looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a quiet beer and play a game of cribbage. I was excited to see Overflow was open (back in "the day" most Lynden businesses were closed on Sundays). We grabbed a couple of pints (just $5 ea!) and sat down for our game. The service was friendly, the place was uncrowded, and it was hard not to order a second pint before the long drive home to the Ham. Overflow, congrats on 10 years in Lynden! It's great to see you're still thriving, still serving up some great beer choices, and still supporting clean water initiatives. Cheers!

Imagine a quiet night out with the love of your life... You…read morefind a parking space within a few steps of the front door of the best kept secret in Whatcom county. The hostess greats you at the door with smiling eyes and kind words. She welcomes you into a beautiful quiet dining area and introduces you to the owner of the fine dining establishment. As you look at your wife you see her heart is filled with joy in just the few moments it took to walk to your seat. The hostess ask you right away "what would you like to drink this evening?" and takes your drink order with a smile. As she returns with you beverages she gracefully asks if you've had time to decide what you'd like for dinner. When the main course arrives and you've taken your first two bites you realize...the culinary professionals have absolutely captured the tastefulness of the Pacific Northwests cuisine. Your tastebuds dance with joy as wonder burst of flavors erupt on palate. You once again turn your attention to your wife as she explains "This is exactly what I needed." The hostess returns to your table and asks "How is everything tasting tonight." You explain to her that "words cannot explain how wonderful it all is." The hostess light and delightful conversation almost makes it feel like you're her only responsibility for the night, even though the restaurant is bustling with energy and wonderfully light music. In the back you see the owner working diligently to help the staff and make this evening the best it could be for all. Thank you Bourbons. You have really outdone yourselves again. Brian and Marci

Abby was our waitress and had some wonderful recommendations! We had the pesto bites and I tried the espresso martini and it was delicious! The service was pretty, and the vibe was excellent! Well done guys... we will be back!

The outdoor patio is sprawling with space! Tons of outdoor seating and quite a bit inside as well (for the rainy days I suppose!) Although every time I have visited (sunny days!) there were people sitting inside and I am not sure why anyone would choose to sit inside on a beautiful day!! I digress. The annoying thing about the patio, the music was on what felt like, volume level 7 out of 10. It was blaring. I could not hear my friend speaking to me across the table. While I totally dug the music selection, it was way too loud to have a conversation. The speakers are on like every other post so there was no getting away from it. At one point I did ask them if they could turn it down a few notches. (I apologized and said "with risk of sounding like a Karen or an old lady, but it is so loud and I cannot hear across the table). She laughed said no problem and she could turn it down a little. (Funny inside it was like on volume level 4, but outside it was blasting!) The beer is decent, also about 3.5/5. For me the star of the show is the location and the view. The food truck out front the last time we went (January 2026) was Indian fare. It was honestly terrible. Looked like cat food (how fitting). Probably had a total of 3 pieces of chicken in my tikka masala. I would recommend avoiding that truck entirely. It was a thumbs down for all 4 people in our group.
