Whoever employed the woman at the front counter at Papa Murphy's on Portola made a huge mistake. I walked in and told her. It was my first time ever being in a Papa Murphy's and started asking what my choices were. I told her I had a coupon, and she just looked at me with blank eyes, like I was wasting her time, and to hurry up and just make a decision. Then I asked her about the EBT snap option to pay, and she showed me this sign. saying her machine was down, and then grinned and laughed at the fact that I had to use snap to pay, which was extremely rude. The Papa Murphy online website is not in sync with what the store will make for you. I ordered from the website a Medium 2 Topping pizza. When I got to the store 30 minutes later, they only made a Cheese pizza and they claimed it is what I ordered online...BULL$HIT!!! They said if I wanted to add Pepperoni, it would cost an additional $2. What a SCAM this company is running!!! Their payment machine also doesn't give you the option to chose a custom tip amount. It only has 4 choices for tips: 15% 18% 20% No Tip The quality of their ingredients is also not good. The pepperoni slices are LESS than 1 millimeter thin.....thinner than toilet paper!!! Love this place! I have had the good fortune to know 2 great Papa Murphy's stores. The first one in Fremont closed during the last recession, but the one in Livermore is going strong. These are the nicest people. I never get tired of saying hi to them and thanking them for exceptional service. I appreciate the Tuesday $12.99 any large special, and if I wasn't picking it up on my motorcycle (yes I do, it fits well like a taco in my bag and stays relatively great in place) I would get more. Papa Murphy's has become our pizza of choice in the last couple of years. The reasons: --- Their pizza's are tasty and loaded with ingredients. Our kids like the straight-up cheese pizza, my wife and I experiment with various specials, like the delightful chicken bacon artichoke pizza. We often get a half and half - 1/2 cheese, 1/2 "whatever the grownups want." --- It is inexpensive - we rarely pay more than $10 (with coupon or their various deals). --- The service is fast and friendly - no waiting 45 minutes for a pizza to be delivered. --- they honor coupons without a fuss, including online coupons (we have used the Yelp checkin coupon for free cookie dough on more than one occasion). --- finally, and IMO the reason they're able to deliver on the first few, their "we make it, you bake it" business model. This transfers the choice of how and when to make the pizza to the customer, and we have not had a cold or under/over baked pizza in a long time. What happened to this place? Paid $16 for a large sloppy All Meat pizza with hardly anything on it AND you forgot the bacon. Hardly any sauce. What happened to the cheese? The manager, Jerry, of this Livermore Papa Murphy fleeced us. Did not reimburse us $8.50 in the form of a gift certificate that he said he sent numerous times but did not. i ordered two pizzas on line and should have received 25% off based on email we received from Papa Murphy. I immediately called the store to cancel as the discount was not taken off at check out but was told charge went through and only Jerry could credit our account the 25%. After providing Jerry with email and receipt, Jerry said he couldn't credit our credit card but would send gift certificate. It's unfortunate I.have to write this review but the public should know. I went into papa Murphys to get two pizzas as instructed by the text I received in the morning 8/14/2022. I thought it would be great to do a BOGO and get the 2nd pizza 50% off, (see photo attached) it says to show the coupon to the cashier to honor the promo. So I went in and the cashier/person making the pizzas didn't understand that they had to enter the deal into the computer, she advised me to put in the code into the website, but there is no code, we went back and forth to get a resolution but she sent a photo of the text message to her boss for further instructions but the boss was unhelpful to the employee to give direction to enter the coupon amount into the cash register. I feel that there's a huge disconnect here with the store and the corporation. The cashier said the boss would call me but I wanted a response there and now. I've never given a review or created a Yelp account until today. I ordered 2 pizzas, 1 large Chicken, Bacon, Artichoke and 1 Veggie. The daily special is a large pizza for $12, but I had a coupon for a large Chicken, Bacon and Artichoke for $10 that didn't specify a day. I wanted to use the regular special for the Veggie and the $10 for the CBA. The staff said that wasn't allowed because all larges were $12 on tuesdays. So you're telling me I can come in literally any other day of the week and pay $10, but on this one day I have to pay more because....? The staff gave no explanation. I think that this is a sad choice to get $2 extra dollars on a $20+ order and lose a customer. read more

We have ordered here forever, but I never reviewed them.. For a take and bake this is the best! We love the staff, they are always nice and polite. When the kids were small we'd get a 1/2 and 1/2 with veggie on one side and meat, olives etc on the other. We always get the creamy garlic ranch as it makes the veggies taste decadent. When we have asked for extra artichoke hearts they have always piled them on.. When we asked for things to be left off, they follow the request and it seems that they add other items to make up for it. With COVID they have made pick up really easy and contact free! Pizzas are tasty and you can bake at your convenience at home. They're not greasy and don't taste like you're going to get a clogged artery like at other pizza joints. I know...I can't believe I am reviewing a Papa Murphys shop but I had to express how great the customer service was here tonight. I called to ask about their specials....the guy on the line was polite and friendly to me...I could tell he was a teenage kid and he was still very professional *scores points there* Showed up with my Mom and Grandma (who was paying! Yeahh!) and ordered our pizzas. Half way through waiting, I realized my Aunt wanted the garlic sauce rather then the red sauce on one of the pizzas! UH OH! I totally forgot. My Mom asked the girl making pizzas if it was too late to change the order. She was totally cool about it and said No Problem! She re-made a new pizza for us quickly and we were out the door with a 49er Special, the Jack-o-Latern special for my little cousins and some Cinnamon sticks. They had about 7 teenage high school kids working in this shop and of course Homecoming and boys were the topics of discussion while we were waiting but they were really cool! Situation: I recently wanted a pizza, was too tired to cook, and didn't want to pay a fortune or eat a pool full of grease. Solution: Papa Murphy's. I ordered the Meat Lover Pizza (minus beef, awkward?) and the Cheesy Bread Sticks. The guy on the phone was friendly and instructed me that my order would be ready for pickup in 15 minutes. When I got there, he let me know that because of my selections, i was eligble for a free liter of soda: win! And he didn't have to tell me, I really wouldn't have known otherwise, which was very nice of him. Took the pizza home, snagged some snacks off of the top of the Meat Lovers before throwing it in the oven, and waaahhlahhh, out came some delicious cheesy bread and a fantastic meat pizza, all for around $15 (for a large pizza mind you). I had been craving pizza all day, so by the time I got home from work I knew that's what I would be ordering. However, I didn't feel like spending tons of money and I was also feeling adventurous and wanted to try a new place. After reviewing pizza places on yelp and never having tried Papa Murphy's, I thought, perfect.! I'll give them a try. They definitely seemed to fit the bill if what I was looking for. I didn't know if they made the pizzas as ordered or if they already had then ready to go for pickup, so instead of ordering by phone I jut went in. As it turns out, they make it fresh in front of you. Awesome.! I ordered both the Veggie Delite and the Gourmet Chicken. Both were absolutely delicious.!! In fact they were so tempting even before they were baked that I was picking the mozzarella off while I was waiting for the oven to heat up, haha :) The reason I took one star off is because the girl at the register was not friendly at all. Not rude by any means, but not at all welcoming and did not smile once. When I walked up to her I had to greet her and ask 'how are you', an her only response was, "Good." Really.? At least say hello back. Anyway after all is said and done and eaten, I will definitely go back.! This Papa Murphy's was our go-to pizza place. We love the gourmet delight thin crust. Problem is, they either don't make it anymore or have forgotten how. It's still on the menu and we love the cracker-thin crust but our last three orders have been wrong. The most recent order was made wrong and remade wrong. As I was leaving I asked them to confirm they used thin crust. They said they did, but they didn't. The other order request that seems to make them fumble is adding red sauce to half of a pizza. Seems like a simple request but it stumps them almost ever time and I'm forced to repeatedly explain how nothing is to be removed or switched out--just add red sauce to one half. This location is walking distance so we'll likely give them another chance but they are on thin crust with us. Mess up one more order and we won't be back. read more

We eat a lot of pizza in my house. We try to cook as much as possible. But sometimes after a long work day, we are just too tired. We always have frozen pizzas on hand and do Little Caesars sometimes. But when I sent my boyfriend out for pizza, he came home with Papa Murphys. I had never had it before. We fired up the oven to 425 and in 18 minutes had some pretty yummy pizza. It's much better than frozen and way better than Little Caesars.
