This was one of those mindblowing places to stop at. I had been in their area for work and I was hitting the road and saw it was a Acai bowl place so I stopped. I can definitely see why Papa Kwans is so popular. It's the perfect place for a refreshing breakfast or lunch by the beach (think acai bowls, salads, wraps, smoothies, etc). Everything is made fresh to order and the vibes / decor are super islandy and cute. Salads come in a tortilla shell bowl and both the Greek and Chicken Ceasar were delicious. You can choose a side like tortilla chips, fresh fruit or smoky corn dip (corn dip was a must). We also tried a chicken caesar wrap which was overflowing and incredible. And my kids really enjoyed the grilled hot dog. On a Saturday at lunch time there was definitely a bit of a wait, and since they are so busy they don't answer the phone for pickup. In addition to the matcha, they roast their own coffee and it is delicious. There are so many different coffee drinks you can get and they're all great. The food is also fantastic. Fresh and so accommodating to dietary needs. The acai bowls are so refreshing on a hot day. The taco bowl and turkey sandwich are two of my favorite go to's for lunch. Not a coffee drinker but my wife says the coffee at Pappa Kwan's is awesome! I'm usually a tea or soda guy which there are various teas at Papa Kwan's. The people are very friendly and willing to assist you in making your stay enjoyable. The food is awesome and a good variety of hand held breakfast items (bagels, croissants, breakfast sandwiches). If visiting northern Palm Beach County put this on your must try list during your stay! You'll be happy you did! The ambience is a bit eclectic but that is what gives it its charm. read more

A beautiful little shop with picnic tables outside. It was a little difficult to get inside and made me a bit claustrophobic as it's very narrow and people kept bumping into you. They are tucked away in a shopping plaza, with somehow limited parking, but that's because they are so busy. Their food is very good! I had the Italian muffalata on a bagel, which was pretty spectacular except it did not have any of the olive tapanade on it, which was disappointing. The chips were a little stale, but "tomato salad" as they called it was great. They served it on plastic trays with disposable forks. The wait staff was nice enough, but definitely used to a usual local crowd and I felt very out of place. Bonus, there is a really cute local souvenir and fruit/vegetable stand store right there too. Papa Kwans is the perfect spot for a before the beach breakfast, a quick lunch, or a place to just grab some food and catch up with friends. The atmosphere here is unmatched. Island vibes, with a take-no-BS attitude (in a we care about the locals way). If you get lucky, you can catch some chill live music while you enjoy your coffee. Nothing beats the deal you get with a breakfast special. $9 for a LOADED breakfast sandwich and a drink. My favorite combo is BEC on a croissant with the French vanilla cold brew (BONUS: you get coffee ice cubes!) For lunch my go to is a papa kwans taco wrap... in a bowl, or the chicken Caesar wrap. The açaí bowls compete with (beat out) the places who should be experts in them. What I think says a lot about my favorite local coffee shop is that it is the first place my family and friends from out of town want to go to when they visit. Lots of options, but it's always papa kwans. In addition to great prices and food the PK rewards are awesome. For a 16 oz portion and $14.00 we found it lack luster and not as big as they used to be. I have had them many times at PK and always loved them but I don't think I'll be ordering this again. I asked for yogurt and peanut butter in it and it seemed like the quantity was so little that I could barely find it... Might have been the person that made this particular bowl. Super cute quaint spot. I walked to Papa Kwans after spending a few hours at the beach and wanted something light. The tuna sandwich was delicious with crispy onions. The tuna was good and not too fishy. The salsa was a little underwhelming, I think I'll try a different side next time. Also had the pineapple coconut smoothie which was very good. The food here is undeniably great, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth--and not because of the cuisine. It was a cold morning, and the front of the restaurant was noisy, so we opted to sit at one of the two empty tables in the quieter back area. However, an employee quickly approached us and explained that those tables were reserved for groups of three or more, even though it was 7:30 a.m. and the place was nearly empty. When I asked if they could make an exception, the employee nervously replied, "The owner will yell at us." That alone speaks volumes about the work environment. We decided to stay and ate there for about 30 minutes. Not a single family showed up to use the back tables, leaving them empty the entire time. Instead, we were forced to endure loud teenagers talking behind us, blenders, and the grating sound of Christmas reggae music playing overhead. To confirm, I asked another staff member about the seating policy and got the same response. Clearly, this isn't an isolated incident but a reflection of a culture driven by fear rather than hospitality. While the food was enjoyable, I can't support a business that prioritizes rigid rules--and potentially mistreats its staff--over creating a welcoming experience for its customers. read more
