I went here for a late lunch last week. The service was fine, there were a few times our waters were empty for a while, partly due to their small glasses. The tuna poke appetizer wasn't for me. The fish quality seemed substandard and the sauce flavors didn't really do it for me, especially for the price. The caprese chicken sandwich was tasty, but the chicken was slightly overcooked and on the drier side. My girlfriend got the crunchy grouper sandwich, which tasted great, but there was much more breading than grouper. The homemade fries are very good. This place is great! I never would have noticed it until my friend brought me here. It's only got a few tables outside but the inside goes back a little ways. They've got delicious food and they do bottomless mimosas for Sunday brunch. They also have wines although not a full bar. But it still works! I was very excited with my chicken on a fresh biscuit and hash browns with cheese. I also ordered cheesy grits that were delicious. This place is a quaint little home style place. The service was really good and the food came out quick. I really loved the tuna poke appetizer. The French fries were perfectly crunchy and thin. The grouper sandwich was pretty thin and mostly breading. I also had half of the chicken caprese panini which was also flavorful. It's a good spot after the beach since it's very close to Juno. I had dinner here with friends, and also to hear music played by some musician friends of mine. Garden City Café always has consistently good food and an interesting menu. I had pan seared salmon that was mmmmm so good and cooked medium rare, just the way I liked it. Two of my friends had unicorn fish, which I'd never heard of before. Under new management, my husband and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast. I was a bit concerned as the restaurant was empty. The new owner greeted us and our server was friendly and efficient assuring our cups of coffee and tea were hot and full. I ordered the corned beef breakfast with two over medium eggs and my husband ordered the avocado toast with arugula and two over medium eggs. The corn beef hash was the best I have ever had and our eggs were fried perfectly! Both hubby and I cleaned our plates! More like 3 1/2 stars (good to very good); We came here tonight with friends who had been here before for lunches and enjoyed it. And who suggested we try it with them. This is not in our usual neighborhood, so we probably wouldn't have found it on our own. The restaurant is small.. and in a strip of stores facing the main road. There are several other interesting places in the same strip including a new Asian street food place and an unusual wine store. Prices are fairly reasonable. And dress is very casual. The limited menu had most of the basics plus they had a couple non menu specials that the waiter told us about. They have beer and wine. No wine list, but they had the basics if you wanted a glass ($8 per). Our group tried their Sauvignon blanc and a Cabernet. Drinkable. They brought some onion focaccia bread to the table with a small bowl of dipping olive oil. It was okay. We started with one of their salads that we decided to split. It was a Stilton wedge. This was fabulous and I could have eaten this as my meal. Luckily my husband shared it with me. It had a wedge of iceberg and was liberally topped with crumbled cheese, cucumber slices, ripe red tomatoes, house-made croutons, bacon, and candied walnuts. Our friends got the same salad (but kept the red onions on it) and also liked it. For my entree, I got their chicken Francese. The large portion came over a bowl of pasta. My husband had their spaghetti with meatballs. The two meatballs were the size of baseballs! We each took most of our dinner home. Our friends got the rigatoni ala vodka. The creamy tomato sauce was liberally mixed in with the pasta making everything in the small bowl look pink. It was supposed to have bacon in it, but it was hard to find. The pasta looked too small for rigatoni as indicated on the menu. We all agreed it was actually penne pasta -- not real rigatoni. Her husband ordered the crunchy grouper which came with mashed potatoes and.a bit of a mango sauce. He was either starving or really liked it, cause he ate all the fish! For dessert, we heard their list recited by our waiter -- tiramisu, chocolate cake, cheesecake (they were pushing that tonight), a number of pound cakes, and a spice cake. We opted for a piece of spice cake to all share. It came with a tiny dollop of whipped cream on the side. I took a bite... but didn't like it at all. A bit too dry for me. So bottom line -- I'd come back for that Stilton wedge salad. The other items? Maybe if in the nearby area... the price is certainly a good deal with many entrees under $20 although the fish was $24. read more

We came back here for dinner last night & they did not disappoint us! The service was excellent once again & the atmosphere with soft live music playing, was relaxing. My husband had the Korean Beef Noodle Bowl, which was flavorful & full of tender vegetable & beef. I had the Blackened Salmon, which was delicious & was cooked perfectly but the spaghetti with garlic soy sauce & shitake mushrooms served with it was amazing. Food and service was good. It didn't say online CASH ONLY and when Garden City Cafe was closed for vacation I assume, July 22 until Aug 6th I went here. Well, halfway through the meal I notice the sign by the door: no credit or debit cards, ATM outside. This place is still using pads to write orders, like back in the 60's. I thought after the pandemic most places switched to paperless or at least not handling dirty cash. Had I realized that just get salad and iced tea not a whole omelet, juice, coffee, and salad, planning on apple pie after. I barely had enough to pay with not nearly enough for a decent tip. Had to cancel the dessert. I don't like being limited to how much money I happen to have on hand when I eat out. After being robbed at the old Palm Beach Mall I usually do not carry very much on me. read more

Was there once before and the food was pretty good, today the fries were over cooked if not burn and cold if that can make sense and the cheeseburger was dried the fish tacos were over cooked as well flavor was good but the meat was tough and dried. The Chicken sandwich was the worse. Let me start out by giving 5 Stars ***** to their Stilton Wedge Salad.... an Entrée sized salad that could be topped with your protein of choice, but honestly, it does not need anything else added. My wife and I shared this wonderful creation which had crumbles if Stilton cheese throughout, Red Tomato slices (Beefsteak) thick and juicy, apple slices, candied walnuts, cucumbers, bacon and a large Wedge of Iceberg lettuce. We served ourselves a plateful each and dug back into the bowl for second and third helpings, it was so wonderful! We were finishing our last bites when our entrees arrived and didn't want to give up our plates! I had the Meatballs worth spaghetti. A huge mound of spaghetti topped with 2 softball sized meatballs. The spaghetti was good but just could not surpass the greatness of our Stilton Wedge Salad. Nice cozy place with art from local artists decorating the walls.
