I met my dear friend here for a light lunch to catch up and recognize her 50th birthday. This was my first visit to Christopher's Kitchen. We spent a couple of hours here so we had a few people assist us, but Brandon was our initial server. I inquired what his favorite dishes are and one of the items he mentioned was the avocado ginger roll. We decided to share this and each order a smoothie. However, we did make a few changes to the roll. First we axed the cucumber and mango. Next, we requested sliced strawberries. This roll was heavenly! The ingredients were ridiculously fresh and the pairing of the textures and tastes are simply dynamite. A true WOW factor! I would return for this item alone! I ordered the banana almond smoothie and the birthday gal ordered the protein star. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our smoothies. Our servers did a fantastic job taking care of our needs and our water glasses were never empty. The restaurant is extremely clean and the layout is fantastic. In fact, there is a whole other side behind the restrooms. There are two single use restrooms. Parking is first some first serve in a parking lot and credit cards are accepted. Walked by several times but this was the first time I ordered something and it was amazing! As for noon on a Tuesday it was relatively busy, the staff didn't seem stressed or overwhelmed, and knew the special for the day which was nice. Ended up getting some tacos (3) and a beer and the total was like $20 before tip. Granted that was the 'taco Tuesday' special they had so I can't comment on the regular price point but overall I'd recommend it! It would've been wonderful to have it as my leftover today in the heat, but I believe mine was packaged with the other ladies' food dining at the bar. I enjoyed the Grilled Artichokes. They are actually cooked to perfection. Their herb dipping sauce was very good. It's nice to find a place that knows how to make an artichoke. I had the Hawaiian BBQ pizza as my main course. It was very delicious. Had a lot of toppings, except there was absolutely no jackfruit on it , one of the main reasons why I got it. It had all the other toppings that were listed. I went to dinner here on Saturday afternoon and can't stop thinking about my amazing experience. I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo and my date got the black bean burger. The Alfredo was creamy and decedent and the Brazil nut parm was amazing. We also got scoops of ice cream for dessert. Although the ice cream wasn't my favorite, it was pretty tasty. I have been waiting to try CK for years. I was finally in the area and made it a point to finally check it off my list. It exceeded all expectations and I can't wait to return! I had one of the bowls, which was flavorful and a decent portion size. I am usually not a fan of hot and cold items in the same dish, but they made it work somehow. I was full due to the good portion but just had to try one of their delicious sounding desserts. I asked my server for his recommendation and he said the cinnamon roll, so I ordered that. It's served warm with homemade vanilla ice cream...delicious and as full as I was, I ate every bit of it. I also had my dog with me so we sat outside. It was very nice out on the patio and the employees were all really sweet with my pup, even offered her a bowl of water. She has mobility issues and they were very kind even though she was lying down in their path. If you did not know this is a vegan restaurant, you could not tell. I have been going to Christopher's Kitchen for many, many years, and most staff and the manager know me...I'm a vegan and I absolutely love going there if I go out to eat. The food has been excellent quality. However, I have had some issues with their pizzas recently...namely the pizza dough. Today we ordered the mushroom truffle pizza and after eating half of the first bite, it became very clear that the dough was not cooked properly. Sides were crispy but the center all almost raw. The waiter kindly offered to put it back in the oven but I refused because I experienced this exact same thing over a year ago and by cooking it more the pizza was hard as a rock and I threw the whole thing out. This time he offered to have a new pizza made. That came out and we managed to eat a couple of slices. Brought leftovers home and again it was clearly evident that there was something not right with the dough. I even took a picture and it's raw dough! Whatever has happened leaves me feeling very sad. This is not what I'm used at Christopher's. I have had this pizza many times and it had been fluffy base, dough risen & cooked correctly and now it's very disappointing. We do love trying out new dishes to help us try and eat less meat! I got the veggie burger. I was kind of skeptical about all the sauces listed, the truffle aioli with the sloppy slaws bbq. However it was all so delicious together. It was very messy and the cloth napkin I had was covered in the sauce.
