Cool ambience with dimmed lighting, making it a good spot for either a group dinner or date night. Hidden gem that we are glad to have stopped in randomly on a road trip. I spent a few days up in New Hampshire visiting my parents and we ended up going to The Red Arrow…read moreDiner for lunch one day. I liked the look of the place from the outside and from the inside it had a nostalgic diner feel to it. This place was pretty dang packed when we came in so after maybe a 10-15 minute wait we were seated, served water, and given some menus to be faced with the difficult decision of picking out a meal. As a Canadian living in the states, anytime I see "poutine" on the menu I immediately question what is about to be served to me, but I took a chance and ordered the poutine with chicken fingers on top of it. The food didn't take very long to come out and I was fairly impressed when it was put down in front of me. The gravy looked to be right, the cheese curds were there, the fries were there, and guess what? so were the chicken strips. The meal itself was pretty solid, although the gravy tasted like non poutine gravy, otherwise I enjoyed the meal. The fries were solid and the chicken strips were what you would expect from a diner. I probably would have been a bigger fan if the menu didn't feature something called the "trump towers" since I like to keep sexual predators away from my wife and food, but hey, what are you gonna do? Overall, The Red Arrow Diner fed us and we left with full stomachs. My parents love this place and will keep on coming back for more, and I'll probably end up here again in the future with them and give it another shot.

They took our drink orders quickly and brought out the chips and salsa. As always I asked for an extra salsa dish cause I'm super messy. The guy said sure and left but no salsa bowl arrived. The waiter came a minute or two later and so I asked him. He said oh sure and left. He returned quickly and im assuming got distracted because he forgot it too. He said he'd go get it after he put in our order. We ordered and waited and I finally flagged him down again. He did bring a bowl just as they arrived with my husbands food and my side of rice and beans. I guess the cook messed up and so after I finished the beans and rice my tacos arrived. They were very good and he did offer another plate of rice and beans but I told him I wss fine. My only complaint is that I felt they should have taken off a part of the meal or when they offered the beans and rice said it would be no charge. The food was good but the experience was a bit disappointing.

The takeout service counter up front does just fine, but the bar staff and servers are thumbs down for very delayed service. I missed the happy hour cut off since the bartender took their time pouring drinks & doing chit chat. I decided to walk away and out of principle, spend my money at a different restaurant later in the evening for food and drinks. Lately, I have been trying to convince my group that there are slightly better locally owned places in the area for real food and drinks. This place was good when it first opened in 2012, but it's been gradually declining over the years. The happy hour specials at this location are becoming smaller and the food choices are down to three apps instead of 10 app choices a few years ago. The problem with Concord is there is very little competition for the good beer selection at the same place category. Buffalo Wild Wings has that locked down in Concord, more than other local bars in the City. There is competition in Manchester like at Strange Brew and Thirsty Moose for best beer selections. A Yard House is definitely needed in Concord for better food, better beer selection, and better happy hour specials. Somehow, the Buffalo Wild Wings (different owner) and Yard House in Burlington MA can coexist near each other just fine. I will still go to Buffalo Wild Wings 'GO' locations for quick service sandwiches, fried foods, and bone-in/boneless wings fix.

We were able to park close by and get in before the big crowd. Barley seems like a happening place. An upscale Irish Pub, for sure! The set up is a bar with a decent amount of restaurant booth seating. Of course, there were tables of different sizes available, as well. We were given a 10 minute wait after meeting with the Hostess. There was alot of activity around the bar and lots of drinks coming out of the bar well....always a good sign! When our time was up, we were quickly escorted to our table. We were each given a menu and a drink menu. Lots to choose from on both menus (see the pic below) I ordered the chicken sandwich with caramelized onions and my son ordered a Chicken Pot Pie. He had a beer and we both had water with a lemon. The food came rather quickly. I was immediately taken back when the caramelized onion was not on my sandwich. I was going to ask the waittress to fix it but it was far to busy and it was not a big deal. Of course, I would have enjoyed the onion but "no big deal". My son's Chicken Pot Pie was a good size and was thrilled with it. We both ate everything on our plates. Our waitress checked in with us a few times to refill, which was nice and came to take the plates away after we were finished. We did not get any dessert. To be honest, we did not see a lot of dessert plates coming to other tables, either. We were thinking maybe people leave to get ice cream at one of the nearby establishments. 5-Stars Price: Fair Parking: plenty near by Vibe: perfect...I would like to watch a game, someday, at the bar Pepsi/Coke: Coke Would I come again? Everything our party of four ordered was a disappointment, starting with an ice-tea cocktail that was undrinkable-- our nice waitress took it off the bill. My grilled salmon on a bed of rice arrived as dry as the Sahara, surrounded by burnt roasted carrots -- at least I think that's what they were. My husband's steak he ordered medium rare was also way overdone, served a block of with cold mashed potatoes. The overly sweet Apple Pumpkin Bisque (for $9) went uneaten after each of us tried a spoonful -- it was more like a bowl of pie filling than soup. Even the dessert, bread pudding with some whipped cream, was gloppy and unappetizing. This is a great place to go if you are fasting.

Wonderful little lunch stop!…read more It was full of locals and regulars and on a wait for lunch. At that moment I knew I had picked a good spot! We chilled with the folks up front for a good bit before getting a table. It seemed we were the only people that had not been here 30-40 times before. Most people didn't even want menus and the sweet server ladies just brought them food without conversation at all. It's kind of old school feeling inside. It's an open kitchen and you can see all of the action. Inside is all wooden and rustic. It reminds me of my grandmas house in Camden TN. Not sure why. It's just really comfortable in here to me. The tile and fireplaces make super cozy. This place has some of the best chili that I have had in a long time. I dig the fact they give tortilla shops automatically with the chili. Win!! Thick and meaty and oh so filled with spice and love!! Cheese on top was a nice touch too. Really liked it! My French dip was fucking killer!! So damn big too! I could only eat half of it because of the the fire ass chili I had already eaten. French fries were battered type. Nothing wrong with that!! I drove around with this sandwich for two days of travel and ate it on the road later. Stupendous French dip!! C had an open faced roast beef sandwich. FIRE!! The green beans were so pretty and fresh too. She could barely get 1/3 down, lol. It was a ton of food. Economical! Hometown feel! Good people working and eating here! I love it!!
