We were ignored for a bit and then argued over between a waitress at another table and then one on the phone, who eventually became our waitress. It felt like we were bothering them just by being there. Food and drinks came out pretty quickly. The folks at my table complained that their food was dry. The food at Papa Dukes is great. We tend to go for gyros and Gyro salads but they have a very large menu with lots of choices. Good place for large groups. They have plenty of room to seat groups of 78 9,10. Just a great local joint. We love it. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but I just ordered takeout from here and it. was. bad. I typically love their gyro salads but recently I've had issues and this most recently was the last time I'll go. I got a gyro salad which always includes lamb and fries but it was not there this time. Then I saw that the eggs were green which was gross but fine because I don't really like eggs anyway so I picked them off. Then I saw a lemon on my salad that was browning. And then I was eating my pita bread excited that they at least gave me one good thing on the salad and when I pulled it back I saw that it was moldy. Usually I'll enjoy the occasional gyro salad or gyro from here, but now, I will not be visiting here again. read more

I want to give this place more stars but I can't until they eliminate the 4% surcharge. When places have this policy I cut my tip in half. I hate that I'm taking it out on a waiter, because I respect the work they do, but I figure that when they can't keep staff they'll join the 21st century and eliminate this ghetto-ass policy. One visit. Dukes is missing the entire craft beer world of customers. Volume of cheap beer does not make up for the fact that Miller Light is not considered a beer in many countries! Stopped in last night with my girlfriend for dinner. We both had wings/fries which were delicious! You get a dozen wings with fries for what you'd pay for 8 wings at most places. The seasonings and sauces were very good. The service was excellent. They have 6 draft beers on draft - all domestic and only one craft brew. They have two sizes of draft beers, a 16oz and a 24oz. The beer prices were very reasonable, especially on the 24oz size. The decor was a bit dated, but pleasant. It was reasonably clean, and is non-smoking. I only gave 4 stars because I thought they could have done a better job with the menu presentation. The menu was difficult to read (especially considering dim lighting and tiny font size used). Also, I would suggest to the owners that they add a drink menu. A list of the beers offered with prices would have made the ordering process much faster. Overall, it was a nice experience, but could have been made much better without much effort. I wish restaurants would care more about the customer experience. Many local restaurants could improve customer satisfaction by simply asking the customers what they think (especially first time visitors). Sigh... Also, based on the server's t-shirts, they have 4 locations. That's not mentioned on their menu. And they don't even have a website! But they do have WIFI. I'm always amazed by businesses that don't see the need for a website. I would have gone there a long time ago if I could have seen their menu and known that it was a non-smoking establishment. I wonder how many others hesitate to go because they don't want to take a chance on walking in and not liking it? read more

Had a burger and it was a good burger but as for comfort ... I just not feel comfortable. The seating was a step sideways from the fire hall and the temp was COLD.. Ok it was only 11 deg outside but when I put my coat on to keep warm. The group I was with thought it was time to go, even though I could have had a few more beers or another after dinner drink. Waitress was very good she just brought the checks too soon. If it was just my wife and I it would have been great but when a group is seated it makes us feel as if we are not wanted. . I would try again but if it is cold out side I would ask for the temp to be set to at least 70 to 72 deg when there are customers. read more

Right off the bat, I want you to know that this is not the original gyros from Beaver County - those come from Paris Grill. These gyros are definitely not as good as Paris Grille but they are a close second =) Papa Dukes has a decent seating area and a small bar. The staff is very nice and the food is good. The service is quick and they have a bunch tvs to watch the games. The menu items are the right price and it's a nice place to have a beer and watch the game. read more

Just went to Papa Dukes today. I learned that the have a $1.99 breakfast which consists of 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast and hash browns. It was very good. They serve this special Monday through Friday at the reduced price. They also have good gyros and grape leaves which I frequently get for dinner. It would be nice if they spruced up the place as it is very old and could use a refresh. Many of the booth seats are ripped and taped up and the skylight could use a good cleaning. read more

I love the chicken gyro with extra pita bread, the salads are excellent, and the wings are pretty good but they could use a little more sauce, but that's just my personal preference. Great service and for Beaver county, good food. They are friendly and the food is good quality. A bit pricey for a gyro without fries. You can go to nearby Youngstown/Warren, Ohio and get better Greek-American fare at about the same price. I was at the local mall near Papa Dukes. I called and ordered two dinners, To be picked up. The service was very poor and unprofessional. Most of the staff seem to be in a mass of confusion. The cashier used a personal purse to return the change from my order. I took the meals home and the food portions were tiny. The meal was cold and it was like trying to chew a leather shoe. The meat was not fresh, it was like trying to eat leftovers from the back of a refrigerator. I was really disappointed with this place. I call to complain about the food. The manager (I assumed) called me and apologized for the bad food. She offer a voucher for the cost of the food. I went in some days after to pickup the voucher, no body knew anything about it. A cook came out of the kitchen area dressed like he came off a local playground. He told me that he would cook me two meals to replace the poor food I bought. I declined the offer. I am on a fixed income, but the money lost was well worth never ordering food from this place again. Check it out for your self if you enjoy nickel and dime places. read more
