We had stopped by to pick up beignets "to go" in the past. This time, we were able to get to experience more. The server was extremely pleasant and promptly brought us our Caramel Latte, Machiatto, and Vanilla Latte. What a great start! Then the beignets! We arrived here today by chance and we were not disappointed!!! This was our first visit and we hit the jackpot. We were seated outside and immediately greeted by our very friendly and attentive server Dylan!! He is the best. I suggest you ask for him. He knows the menu and his table service is above and beyond. Today Lex and Terry were in the courtyard along with Panni Pete promoting the bash on the bay tonight at The Waterfront for the 250 celebration. My friend loves them so he got to sit and listen. We were not aware they were here this morning. Now the food- what can I say? It's never disappointing at his restaurants. Visiting my partner's hometown, they brought me here for lunch. It was PACKED for a Tuesday at 1pm, it took about 30 minutes to get a table, the outside host (man host) seemed bored and very dismissive. Once seated, the waitress was super friendly and nice. We came to Panini Pete's specifically because of seeing the chef on DDD and GGG. I had high hopes for this place because I love paninis. The service is what lowers the stars from 4 to 3. The servers seemed super annoyed that we were there and wanting food. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. One of my littles ordered the grilled chicken tenders with fries and the other the burger with fries. I tried a bite of the tenders and they were really juicy. The fries were really well seasoned and cooked. It was a bit disappointing that the ketchup came in packets, along with the other burger condiments. I got the Rosemary Chicken Panini with homemade chips and the older kids shared a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. My panini was on the drier side and the chips were slightly overdone/burnt tasting. The older girls were happy with their grilled cheese. So we were staying in Foley and heard it was worth the drive to Fair Hope and Panini Pete's! It was a quaint downtown to walk through and then stop off at Pete's for a bite. We ended up coming here 2x. We have been wanting to try beignets and heard they were good here. We thought they were great. The kitchen quits breakfast at 10:30, takes a thirty minute break, and then picks up for lunch at 11, so keep that in mind on your visit. Either way, beignets are a must-get. My party and I arrive at 2:15 not realizing the restaurant closed at 2:30. However , to the staff , they were not phased by our late arrival. Place has amazing atmosphere. We went for lunch it was a 10-15 minute wait no big deal. Place at a table took waitress a bit to get to us but not horribly long. Refills were a bit slow but did I mention it was busy? Maybe a little short staffed would be my guess. Waitress was a bit baffled when I asked her to let kitchen staff know I am a celiac and I need station wiped down and gloves changed.
