    CURBSIDE PICKUP
    Amy P.

Spoke with an initial worker to call in a CURBSIDE PICKUP ORDER who immediately placed the call on hold. No worries. When she came back on the line she had NO IDEA what was on the menu. After talking to her for at least 10 minutes I calmly asked for a supervisor. Dwayne said he was the on duty manager got on the phone. Wow what a mistake this was!! Dwayne was the absolute rudest, impatient and unprofessional person I have ever talked too. He quickly informed me that one of the items I ordered, the mac and cheese would not be ready for 30 minutes. I informed hum that the last employee I spoke to said not to come for 30 minutes to pick up the order so that would be ok. He rudely insisted it would not be ready so I told him to forget it. I then asked for 2 FULL SIZE baguettes since I was ordering 2 large GROUP soups and he asked if I wanted sides and I said just the bread so he then tried to charge me for the baguettes??!! I said doesn't this come on the side?? He was loud and rude so I merely reciprocated and then he got angry with me??!! I specifically asked for the bread not to be cut into pieces. I wanted the baguettes to be whole so they didn't get stale. He had an issue with this. Actually he had an issue with everything I asked for and yet somehow he is the manager. So 10 more minutes went by but after wasting 20 minutes of my time and nearly 15 minute drive to get there, the mac and cheese still mysteriously would not be ready to serve. Maybe this manager should have cooked more when he was getting low in the first place??!! The GROUP soups are around 22 dollars each and supposedly serve 4 people?? No way. This is merely a quart of soup and barely filled 2 small bowls! What a rip off! I am feeding four people and was hoping for leftovers but sadly there are not any. So basically 44 dollars for less than one bowl of soup and some bread. UGH! Wow. Just wow. I have never had an issue with this Panera Bread before and hope that this manager was merely having a bad night but somehow I highly doubt it. I don't know how you can work in the food service or customer service industry and treat customers, especially returning customers, this way and stay in business. Thankfully there are many other establishments to eat at here in this area. Someone will have to actually pay me to return and take nastiness like this again. I will be speaking with the GM Vicki in the morning about this unprofessional behavior because obviously this manager shouldn't be working here or anywhere customer service is required. Wont be back. Unconscionable!!!

Busy panera bread in Melbourne. Stopped here while on a road trip. Staff is friendly and efficient. Plenty of seating. Their you pick two portion sizes for the salad were generous. Loved the corn chowder it wasnt too heavy and was perfect for a rainy Sunday. Their greek salad is my go to. Love it.

Not all Panera Breads are created equal. Let's just say I will not be visiting again.

The four cheese souffle with an unlimited refill cup for tea and lemonade. I have to say they are delicious!

If there is one restaurant recognized for the fast casual movement in restaurants, it is easily going to be Panera Bread. When they first came around, they were like no other restaurant before. Far better than fast food yet not as tedious as a traditional dine-in either. When Panera Bread opened up in the Melbourne/Palm Bay area, it was a big deal. I have to say it was one of the better restaurant experiences I had at the time. Now more than a decade later, Panera Bread is still around, but they had to change for the times which I am afraid to say may have cut its edge just a tad bit. Panera Bread (which I will shorthand simply to Panera for the remainder of this review) is located just north of Palm Bay Rd. in the Hammock Landing shopping area. Just so you know, it is technically in Melbourne despite being on Palm Bay Rd. Upon entering, you will be greeted to an atmosphere of upscale casual. Better seating and decor than fast food restaurants but not as fancy as certain dine-in restaurants. You go up to the counter and order your food in which choices range from artisan breads, soups, sandwiches, coffee shop selections, and the like. I personally loved their paninis when they first opened. Prices for food are averaged around $10 so it won't break your wallet. I would suggest the combo of half a sandwich and a cup of soup. As of now, said combo has evolved to include other choices such as half a serving of macaroni and cheese or a side salad. Finally, the staff is generally friendly (depending on who works there at the time) and the restrooms are clean (generally). The only unfortunate thing I saw over the years with Panera was the change in prices as well as portion sizes. Before, the portion sizes were bigger. Now they've been reduced. Not only that, the prices for said portions went up. Shouldn't it go the other direction? Despite that little hiccup, Panera is still one of the better dining options if you want something more than fast food but don't have the time to dine-in. On the other hand, the place just has enough of an ambiance to make it an extension of the workplace. I know I'd rather have a meeting in Panera over the office (when I worked in a boring office I mean).

    Burnt. Plain and simple.

Look at the food and you will understand. Pride in what you do should go a long way in the world. I shouldn't have to check my food. But I will in the future.

My favorite part is you can do flights. I ordered three soup and two slider flight. Soups: tomato basil and lobster bisque. Both were good alone but they mixed well too. The bisque was one of the better ones I've had. I could actually taste the basil in the tomato basil. Sliders: chicken salad and pimento cheese. Both were good, but alone without soup they're just ok. The best part of the sliders is they come on Hawaiian rolls. I would definitely go again since I love soup.

**INITIAL REVIEW** I…read morelike to consider myself, at times, a connoisieur of soups. I love them all, and I don't even mean just the ones most people know of, but ones that are often passed over simply because they are not known. Good example: the savory cold soups that are meant to be cold, not just a hot soup you serve cold because you're lazy to wait a minute for it to warm up in a microwave. I will even go as far as to say that I love chili with beans... and without. Doesn't matter. It is a chucky soup. I like creamy soup. I like chunky soup. I like chunky and creamy soup. I like soup... and kudos to anyone who got the classic Eddie Murphy stand-up comedy joke right there. Anyways, The Soup Shop in, what I will call the part of Melbourne between Suntree and Melbourne Major (where Historic Downtown Melbourne) is located, right near the Eastern Florida State College Melbourne campus, is the original location (that I know of). I have been a couple of times, and every single time, it has been great. As a matter of fact, the Soup Shop answers that question I've asked which is, "What if there was a restauant that served an array of soups I can choose from?" Questioned answered and with flying colors, too. Pertaining to its ambiance, the Soup Shop doesn't exactly stand out compared to some of the decor these new restaurants seem to push as part of their experience. Instead, their decor is simplistic, but they so happen to really promote and push one particular artist as her paintings are all over the walls of the restaurant. As for the soup, I decided to get the flight, which is a sample (flight) size of three soups of your choice. Certain soups do have a specialty upcharge, specifically the bisques, and some can't be made in such because of how they are prepared, specifically the ramen. Despite that, there are a wide array of soup choices to choose from. You now, chunky soup, creamy soup, chunky and creamy soup. And to be serious for a moment, they also have soups that cater to special dietary needs. I saw a whole cooler full of ready-to-warm-up soups for bariatrics. As for the prices, they are not bad all. I think the soup flight was about $12, which is not bad at all for three soups a little bigger than a cup but smaller than a bowl. They also serve other food items such as sandwiches and desserts. My suggestion: the grilled cheese. Definitely pair it with the tomato soup. Ultimately, I am going to give the OG Soup Shop four out of five stars. They were outstanding the two times I went, but I need to try more of their food to see if they are consistent... because most people know that my fifth star is awarded after reviews (unless I've been to a business more than let's say five times) and they are consistent. I truly think The OG Soup Shop will be consistent, but you never know.

**INITIAL REVIEW **…read more The Soup Shop located in central Melbourne, which I will say is the area between Eau Gallie and Suntree, is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the mid-Melbourne area, the area between Eau Gallie and Suntree. I mean, it is a restaurant that sells soup, and I mean more than one soup or even more than the common numbers of two to five soups. Think twenty soups or more. Ergo, when I found out that another Soup Shop location would open in West Melbourne, FL, I was excited. Not only would one of my favorite restaurants have another location available, but this one so happens to be closer to me. The question is if this new location would be as good as the OG. Despite not being a 1-to-1 of excellence to the OG, this new location is still excellent. Though an address is provided, the new Soup Shop location is located in the Palm Crossing Shopping Center a.k.a. Publix Shopping Plaza West Melbourne on Palm Bay Rd. (because to be fair, all the best shopping plazas in Florida happen to be Publix shopping plazas). If it helps, the new Apocalypse Coffee Roasters location is also in the same plaza. Upon entering the locale, it is like walking into a cozy nook you'd like to sit in and enjoy a book. Multiple two-person seating is available up front with one on the eastside. I usually sit on the eastside table as it is closest to the fountain dispenser, as all fountan drinks have free refills. As for service, the ladies working there are great, especially the team lead/manager who works on weekdays. I definitely like how she initiates conversation by asking about the t-shirt you are wearing. I was wearing my "EXPLORE" shirt and she asked me what it is I am exploring. Usually, it would be geocaches and/or letterboxes, but at the time, soup flavors! Which brings me to the six flavors of soup I had via the flight. Yes. The Soup Shop serves flights (and that is all the locations from what I know, too). I had the Dragon Stew, chili, chicken gumbo, tomato soup, creamy garlic tomato soup, and she crab bisque. Details of the soups are in the pics, but definitely loved the tomato soups especially with their fantastic grilled cheese sandwich they have on their menu. And on a sidenote: the restroom was unisex and clean. Definitely no drips on the floor or anything like that. Ultimately, I am going to give this Soup Shop - West Melbourne, four out of five stars. All and all, they are excellent, but we'll have to see if they are consistent. If they are consistently excellent, not perfect, just excellent, they'll get their fifth star for consistency.

It's been amazing every time. I think of The S&S as an old school supper club. There are 8 tables I believe and only one staggered seating. They don't turn over the tables. You get five courses. You are started with a smoked fish dip plate. I generally don't like fish dip but the fish dip there is excellent. Next is soup. There were two choices. We both went with the Prime Rib Vegetable. Excellent. The salad course is fine - but the Greek feta salad dressing was really really tasty. Next is the entree. There are 5 choices on the regular menu, plus 2 specials. My wife ordered the Rack of Lamb ($39) and I had the NY Strip and Shrimp Scampi ($37). Both were beyond excellent. Huge portions and plenty to take home for another meal. The dessert is the Chef's choice. Last night it was Key Lime Pie. Most people, including us, take it to go because you're so full from all the delicious food in the first four courses. I had my Key Lime later, at home, and it was delicious. The restaurant itself is very nice. I'm very comfortable there. The service is friendly and attentive and very professional. We've had the same waitress all 3 visits over 3 years - that's a good sign. And she's very very good. The location is on Depot Drive right along the railroad tracks. It's not the best location, but there's parking right there and I enjoy watching the Brightline passing by. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
