I'd give zero stars if I could. Horrible service and crappy food. I typically like Panera in general, but this location is the absolute pits. I ordered some food, a smoothie, and a FROZEN lemonade. Total was $40. Sat in the drive thru for almost a half hour. No biggie. They get busy somerimes. When I get to the window, this girl hands me a completely melted frozen lemonade and tries to tell me "That's what they look like". Smoothie was soupy too. She wouldn't give me a new one and had a really crappy attitude because "they are busy, it's just her and her manager and they are trying their best". Then closed the window. I don't actually care what her problems are, I paid $40 for food and want it made correctly. I didn't complain at all about waiting. I'm fine with waiting if my food is made properly. Sandwich was awful as well, absolutely no dressing on it and only half of it had tomatoes. Just a mess. Never again. read more

Went to the Panera in Kingston, NY. NOT IMPRESSED. I wanted to order their breakfeast - 4 egg sandwiches for $15.99. Person at register (said she was manager) did not know how to ring up that order. Wanted me to pay for 4 individual sandwiches. I asked to speak to manager - thinking management would know how to ring up sandwich feast correct - she stated she was the manager. She told me that breakfast feast not on register so had to pay for 4 individual sandwiches. Decided to only order 2 - Bacon, egg and cheese, and the ham, egg and cheese. Paid for them then when reviewed receipt noticed that she rang up a bacon, egg and cheese and a ham croissant (something) sandwich. When brought to attention of manager she said it is the same thing - don't worry about it. When received sandwich it was NOT what we ordered - so I had the girl making the sandwiches make the correct sandwich. While waiting for the new sandwich. another customer order was done and when he picked it up it was NOT what he ordered. He ordered one of the stuff sandwiches and he got a bowl of soup. What is going on with that manager. She is inputing the wrong order into the system and doesn't care. Won't be going back there anytime soon read more

What could improve? Literally everything. Ordered a whole chicken salad sandwich, only gave half a sandwich. Also coworker said no tomatoes on it because she's allergic but there is obvious evidence that the tomato was put on and then taken off which is extremely dangerous for her. Other coworkers ordered the avocado turkey sandwich but only a normal turkey sandwich came. ANOTHER coworker ordered the chicken avocado blt but there was no bacon at all. The bread on my sandwich was completely soaked through with sauce. When I took my first bite, one side of the bread plopped into three pieces. The other side was like a wet sponge. I actually put the solid piece of bread between four napkins to absorb the sauce. I ended up eating two slices of turkey and three tomato slices. The lettuce was beyond saving. I went through drive thru, Ordered my food person taking the order read it back perfectly, got my order after a long wait while being the only car. Went into the building after deciding we wanted more sweet treats and place was completely dead with few mobile orders being done(so why did drive thru take so long???) When arriving home opened the sandwich and it turkey when we asked for it to be chicken and no sauce when we asked for light and bread instead of chips. Come back because we don't eat turkey so would've been a waste of money. I used to like this place, I came here every single time I was in the Catskills (which is 10X a year, very avid hiker here) and at this point, there is no reason to go anymore. The price increases were the first thing that got me. OK, $20 for a little meal is still better than doing it myself in an airbnb or waiting to get back to the city in over 3 hours. OK, but then they pushed the price increases a bit too far, the proportions shrunk, bread and "bakery" items are just clumps of tasteless white dough at this point, and a fountain drink is now over $4. And no one to help you. the kiosk just says they're out of everything, take a buzzer (there is no buzzer), take a cup (there are no cups). It's like they're prepping to go out of business maybe? Or corporate just squeezed them of their last drop of humanity to get two cents more profit. Something is wrong when people earning over $100K are feeling the price increases (keeping in mind this is on top of housing costs and energy cost bubbles). At these prices, Panera needs to be offering better service or better food. And the standards are not that high. Stopped for lunch on the way back from Saratoga to PA. I will not be stopping here again. Don't think I've ever seen a Panera with only 2 stars. My Asian Sesame salad was filled with wilted lettuce. I brought it to a managers attention. She offered a new salad, but I passed. She said: "I'll bring it to their attention. That shouldn't have gone out like that." ASI said it, another customer said she just returned hers. Why would a manager say "their" attention? She was putting responsibility on somebody else? Every so often my mother, brother and I end up going in, and just recently we headed back in. I had known about the recent change to your strawberry poppyseed salad (being a seasonal-only item, to which I'm not amused so big sad-emoticon), so when I finally found another choice and sent my brother up with a few choices, he came back with one of the choices - of which I ate all (but wasn't thoroughly impressed because I wasn't entirely full like what I would've been had I had the poppyseed salad I had been craving). Which led me up a second time. because his brownie really started to entice me into purchasing my own. My mother and I shared a brownie he brought with the first round of food, and seeing the whole product+presentation, really led me up to the register to pay for one more brownie - for the price they are great, and filling and filled me up to the point where I could stand to conclude the visit. They were busy behind the counter - as I was told - but they were communicative to say they wanted my patience and saw that I was awaiting the order - brownie in its bag in line - front of the line almost from the get-go. I always like mentioning that I have a myPanera account, although I never have my card physically on me. Place is always a disaster, plates and bowls stacked in the return/garbage areas, garbage all over the floor, always out of at least 1 item for each thing you order and the past 3 times I've been here in the last month it's taken 20+ minutes to receive my "rapid pickup order". 2 stars because today was the first time I saw a brunette haired girl happy to be there said hello to me and was attempting to tidy up the place. Clearly a new hire as it's obvious this place must suck the soul out of everyone who works there since everyone also usually looks absolutely miserable. ordered at the Kingston place where I have been before and typically not disappointed. My most recent order was not that way. I always get the Napa Almond Chicken Salad Sandwich which has always been wonderful. I also ordered the Bistro French Onion Soup and The Spicy Take Chicken Sandwich. The chicken sandwich had a distinct taste of fish and since they don't serve fish that I know of I can only assume there must be an issue with the fryer or grease - it went in the garbage. The soup was a small cup which may have been 1/2 filled which is really disappointing given the upcharge they put on the food for the food itself and then they add a convenience fee and then you, of course, have the door dasher . My bill came out to $43 on $20 of food the rest was surcharges, fees, and dasher The fees were heavy and 1/2 the food either didn't taste good or just 1/2 empty soup. You would think with all the upcharges they might want to make to food good for the prices and if they just don't want to food for delivery don't do it. I have never paid all these extra charges from any other restaurant and they by far also delivered much better food for less money. read more

Food is good but forget about their delivery service or that the management and staff of Ulster Park care about customers who have orders delivered. I have ordered from the several times but items ordered are often missing and not as ordered. At first I excuse it as mistakes are made - we all make them and are human. I then took into account the difficulties of the Pandemic. But the problems persist and while you eventually get a refund for the missing item, it is not without stress in getting in touch with someone - they never answer the phoneline allegedly existing for order problems. I always have to go to the mainline for the entire company. And they do not care that when you order you are doing so to get food to eat then. Last night was the last straw because when the missing item was clear when the deliveryman delivered the order and I told him politely the item was missing, he said too bad, that was all he was given. I tried to call the local restaurant three times and no answer. After waiting for over 10 minutes on the call, I got to speak to someone on the alleged customer care line and was told I would get a refund. There is no indication it was put through yet. To day their delivery service does not save time, and that no care is shown, is an understatement. They do not care at all, Do not use their delivery service. You are paying for added stress in your life. read more

As I write this, I'm munching on a Panera Quinoa salad and a bowl of chili - along with pieces of their excellent baguette. Panera is the future of fast food. Well-sourced, good quality ingredients. Well-prepared. Consistent. Quality service and a higher price tag (which I have no issues paying). It's a small price for better health and I suspect I'll be a loyal customer for many years to come. The bread is so great, so clean flavored without that nasty 'sugar burn' you get on your tongue with most processed breads. I have been eating at Panara for quite a few years. My friends and I have lunch there often. One of the things I especially like is their Asiago cheese bagels. I have noticed that the price keeps going up - I know, that is to be expected. But.. this week I ordered an Asiago cheese bagel - it was up another 10 cents and it was half the size that they usually are. So... Panara is raising the price and making the bagels smaller. This Panera Bread is a nightmare. This singular occasion that prompted me to write this is a redundant one. We enter at 7 PM (they close at 10) and are told there are no baguettes. They're out of two other types of bread as well, both of which go on the sandwiches we're ordering with Roxana. She was inattentive while we were ordering, and seemed to not know how to use the register although it said she was a manager. When we got the order, there was a missing French Onion soup (listed as turkey chili), one crouton in the tomato soup, and no utensils for the tortellini. Upon going back up to get my to-go order, Roxana greets me with a frown and no words until I begin my order and she grants me the cost. What a horrible experience!!!! This review is health related. I don't know whether the food was good because I chose not to eat what I had purchased. I made a Rapid Pickup order. When I was second in line for the pickup window, I thought I saw the girl working the window take currency from a customer with a bare hand and then give the bag to the customer with the same bare hand. I considered that I might not be able to see clearly from where I was, so I waited my turn. When I got up to the pickup window, I saw that I was correct, the girl was not wearing gloves, or a mask, and there was no "sneeze guard" on the window. I commented that she wasn't wearing gloves, and she offered to put on gloves then. I remarked that it was a little late, and she assured me that the people making the food were wearing gloves. Clearly, this young lady did not understand that by handling currency with an ungloved hand, she was subjecting herself to the virus. And she also didn't understand that by simply rubbing her nose with her finger and then handling the customer a bag that between that and the currency, she was subjecting everyone else to the virus. Although I had paid for it, I did not take my food. I went down the road to a competitor and ordered. There was one person taking money at window 1, and food pickup was a window 2, where the person handling the bags was wearing gloves and there was a sneeze guard on the window. I used to not come to Panera often, mostly because the one closest to me was in a weird place. But recently I have found myself frequenting the Kingston location, and I have a couple things to say about this one in particular. Overall, this is one of the nicer locations I have been to. The inside is clean and well-lit. The service is quick, and I like that during busy times they give you a pager and they announce your name in case you miss the buzzing. The bathrooms are clean as far as I can tell. The food is fresh and the baked goods are usually tasty. My issue with this location is seating. I know they are busy during lunch, but I can never find a seat! There never seem to be enough tables and I find myself often scrambling to grab a chair or a booth from a mother with 5 kids in tow. (Most of the time I feel bad and end up letting her have it instead.) But this should really be addressed. Sure I get my food quickly, but afterwards I have nowhere to put my tray down. If there were more seating options I think this location would be greatly improved. read more

Just your generic Panera chain store. I've been a fan of Panera since it opened and was really glad to see they opened one up near where I was going to school. This was my go-to place for off-campus studying: free WiFi, great coffee, a nice place where you can get a spot of lunch and a lot of undisturbed cramming done. I can see why people would call Panera pricey -- sometimes you pay $10+ for a tiny half sandwich and some meager soup -- but they also have more filling, affordable meal choices, like their soup in a bread bowl. That always fills me up and it's about $5. Plus, unlimited coffee for less than $2. The people here are really friendly and helpful too. When I first started coming here to do homework, a girl working here ran around the store looking for an electrical outlet for me when my laptop was almost out of juice. Many a time, I've also chatted with the people behind the counter while they made my food. Oh, and if you go late at night, like half an hour or so before they close, they throw in bakery freebies for you! A nice woman once gave me four blueberry scones for the price of one! read more

What used to be a pretty cool place to get food has taken a nose dive. If you eat there, it ain't bad, but that ain't saying much. The last time I had the turkey chili there with my moms, it was pretty runny. More like chili stew. The last two times I went through the drive thru, I had partial servings given to me. My soup cup was half full the first time - looked like someone tasted it ahead of me, my chili cup was half full the second time. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice... So, the drive thru results are pathetic. That said, ordering inside is a toss up now too. The salads are still large and in charge - fresh and tasty, but order a sandwich and it often looks like someone threw the food on there from a few feet away. The service is in dire need of an overhaul. There is always a huge line with cashiers acting like its their first day. On a few occasions I've heard cashiers chatting it up with customers like there's all the time in the world. Where's the management for this joint? On top of all that, I complained about my drive thu disaster to the manager over the phone and he promised to send me a gift card to assuage me. Never sent it. The second time I had problems, I called customer service and they issued me a free entree on my panera card. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it had a 30 day expiration and it expired before I could take advantage of it. I called them the day after it expired and asked if they could extend it a day or two longer or issue me another one and they said NOPE. Good old customer service in the USA. The food here used to be pretty good, even if the prices were high. Something has happened in the past year or two though and I won't be going back. They need help with food preparation desperately and their counter help needs to stop watching the coffee brewing and help a customer out. Grill cheese without a grill, Paninis with out a panini grill and soup from a bag. If this sounds good...Panera Bread may be the place for you. I beleive what has made this place so popular might be as they say..."presentation, presentation". At Panera this is what it is all about with beautifully laid pastry lit as only a Hollywood director could do...very inviting indeed. This explains why the kitchen is only visible after you have paid the cashier. If you had seen the food prep first, I'm sure it may have frightened you into seeking nutrition elsewhere. To quote my grandfather, "If you put crap in a pretty box...someone will buy it". My daughter loves their Mac & Cheese, which is indeed very good. Otherwise, their food is OK, but way overpriced. However, if you get takeout from them, be sure to go through the entire bag and check that they gave you what you ordered. I live 20 minutes away and got Panera tonight as a treat for my daughter. I came home to find two bread bowl soups instead of the two salads I ordered. However, that's my own fault for not checking the whole order before leaving the restaurant. I placed an order online and arrived at the time my order was to be ready on the rapid pickup shelf. My food wasn't completed, I waited for 15 minutes and still nothing. I walked over to the prepared food pickup and I could get a single team member to acknowledge I was trying to ask them a question. Finally, I had to wait on line at the order counter and waited another 10 minutes. I spoke with the cashier and she went to the kitchen and was screamed at by a food preparer, he anncounced that it wasn't his problem and finally a manager came over and prepared my food. Location needs more attentive management and training. This used to be a nice reliable place for a reasonably healthy lunch or dinner. Management needs to focus more on: Supply issues: Midweek, so many ingredients were unavailable that numerous menu items could actually be made as described: no avocados ("not ripe yet"), no arugula, some sauces "not made yet", no lemons, etc. Staff: usually helpful but a lot of miscommunication and competing information about ingredients, resulting in items not as ordered, etc. Cleaning: bathroom floor was entirely wet - it looked like a toilet overflow but was everywhere, like maybe it was mopped? Leaving puddles of water everywhere is dangerous - people can slip. Putting a yellow sign several feet away outside the bathroom where it is irrelevant doesn't make the inside safer. I simply asked for extra croutons in my salad while in the drive-thru... and I didn't receive that. No problem, I went inside to ask if I could PAY for a side of croutons and was told no. I asked why and was given no explanation. I explained that I was willing to PAY for some extra croutons for my salad and I was still refused. I cannot believe that they would turn down a customer for TRYING TO PAY FOR A PRODUCT!! The cashier was extremely rude and the manager would not come over to talk to me personally.
