Love Panera bc it's great for kids. And it's simple and quick. You can find some nutritious food if you modify your selections. For example I usually get modern Greek with dressing on side, feta on side. This drastically reduces number of calories. My two issues. They took off buttered noodles for kids which was my daughter's fave. And they got rid of veggie soup!! I loved that soup. Now, their soups, if they don't have meat, then they are cream based. If you are going to be a soup and sandwich shop, need to have more variety of soups, especially for veggie terians. Super crowded though, always. I have purchased at this location before for my office co-workers and myself. The quality is good but service is poor. Today there was one person behind the counter who was helping the person in front of me and looked up and saw me. He handed the customer his order and then without a hello or please wait a moment he walked away to the back. Since it was just me on line I thought he would be right back but he did not come back out...just left me standing there. A woman looked out from the back, saw me and went about what she was doing. I felt invisible. I had an order for all my co-workers and after waiting with no one attending just walked out and went to another establishment. Staff needs customer service training. read more

Visiting the area for my dad's estate, Panera was on our way. It feels home every time I go to Panera.

They recently remodelled the interior and I like what they've done! Upon walking in, there's four self-order terminals that you can use. After you order and pay, they give you a vibrating thingy that tells you when your order is ready. I hated the old system where they just yelled out my name (you either don't hear it or you don't realize they're calling you). The food is always good here, I love the you pick two combos. The napa chicken salad sandwich is the best. I've tried many times to replicate their chicken salad on my own but Panera still has me beat. Some of the soups (i.e. French Onion OR Broccoli Cheddar) are insanely salty. Maybe its just my asian palate? I do like the chicken noodle soup though. Service is fast and food comes out fast. WHOA! This Panera is confirmation as to why I try NOT to come to their stores. Being on Jericho Tpke, their location is great for customer traffic but awful for legitimate traffic. When you can eventually get into the parking lot, it is a mess and a half. The lot is small and I was terrified that I was going to run a hungry patron over. Inside, it was just as hectic. I went during peak lunch hour (shame on me), and the crowd was dense. While the staff was efficient in getting customers in and out, the amount of people there was simply overwhelming. I didn't bother trying to find a seat because they had all been occupied by businessmen and mothers with strollers. The food was good, as expected, but the chaos may not be worth it. read more

(This review is strictly for the PM after dinner time--I am never here during the day.) My BIG peeve with Panera is the imposition of the "half" sandwich. Who the F**k came up with this? Why is the "half" the norm and the "full" treated like a minority? I guess to save money? Weird. But what if you're REALLY hungry? (That's why 80% of Panera's patrons are female. They naturally eat less & always need to keep skinny--so this is diet food) . Whatever. The "full" is also terribly OVER-PRICED. (If this was Subway --the foot-long would be $24.99 . ) Ridiculous. Are the staff told "OK- pile everything in the dead center --all evenly on top of each other--do not attempt to use the spaces on the outskirts of the bread --direct center only - pile it as high as it can go so that it will all plop out when eaten". Does one need a 12 hour course on how to make a sandwich? When they are at home do they put all the peanut butter & jelly in the direct center of the bread in a ball? Not a fan. So why 4 stars ? Sometimes they get a coffee or a drink. Other times...they order NOTHING. Sometimes they come in with their OWN food & drinks! I have seen this myself. For some reason they cannot go to the Syosset Public Library (which is HUGE!) and do this. Also-now most public libraries have modern coffee shops inside as well! So yeah- deconstruction & pre-med-i-tation (I'm so tired now even my puns are deflating) have ruined this Starbucks...............(plus the staff got worse)...um what was my point here???? Oh yeah: That's where Panera comes in! Buy your drink at Starbucks, walk across the street to Panera & go in-- order a bagel or a pastry and choose from dozens of comfy booths , chairs & tables. Even on a Saturday or Sunday night ! These places are HUGE! You can't possibly fill them! PLEASE DO NOT LET THE PRE-MED STUDENTS KNOW about this place though. Promise? P.S. This new Panera is very nice. Interior features a fire place and the outside has a nice eating area. If you like Panera then you'll really like this one. My own criticism is with the overall quality of the food. It's fine for what it is but I honestly feel that every bagel shop on LI has better bagels, every bakery better bread and most diners have better salads and soups. With the wide array of local choices, especially in this area which is filled with great eateries, Panera should be used sparingly. In many parts of the country that lack quality local restaurants I would give Panera 5 stars. The food is pretty good but I just can't bring myself to give it more than 3 stars here. This is a nice Panera with a good location. The staff are friendly, capable and helpful. The rewards program is neat. They offer a free birthday pastry and, as you accumulate points, free food items. The food is consistently well prepared and tasty. The downside is the parking lot. It's crowded, too small for the restaurant and has a narrow entry. When you leave its sometimes difficult to get onto Jericho Turnpike. Sneak out the back way and use the side access road. For fast food, it's a good choice. read more

I'm not a big fan of this Panera Bread at this location. It's right on Jericho Turnpike, which is convenient, but annoying when you pull out the parking lot, due to the traffic. They have a decent size parking lot but the spots fill up quickly since they share the lot with other businesses. For lunch, I recommend coming earlier to beat the rush because it gets really busy. The first time I went there for lunch, I was making circles around the dining area just looking for table to eat on. On the up side, they do have an option where you order/pay online and they will have it ready for you when you arrive. Therefore if you decide to eat here, plan ahead. read more

As far as panera goes, this is a great one. The staff is really friendly, and we can always manage to find a seat. Sometimes the coffee is a little weird (AKA bad) but last time I just told one of the employees, and she gave me a new cup to try a different coffee, which was much better. I'd recommend the chicken avocado cobb salad. OH and I recently discovered that you can get extra chicken for $2 ($1 on a half salad), which is definitely worth it if you're looking for a little more protein. read more

Okay, look. Panera Bread food has been a staple for my family and I for years now, especially the food from this particular place. The food is always super delicious and there are many healthy options. There is no problem with the food. But starting even last year, there have been quite a few mess-ups when it came to orders. I've noticed that 4/10 times that I order more than two you-pick-two meals to-go (which is most of the time), an item is missing or replaced by something completely different than what I ordered. This is a shame, because there is absolutely nothing wrong with the food, it's just the service that sort of sucks. The first few times it happened were times where I didn't check the bag of food to see if there was anything missing, and I ended up going home and calling Panera about the incident. Sometimes when we call, the manager will tell us that they wrote something down about the issue to give us a free dessert or something like that, but it isn't actually guaranteed. There were still several times where the manager said they wrote about the free dessert but didn't, and I would end up finding that out the hard way when trying to get my free dessert during my next visit. Management does not seem to care so much about these ongoing situations, and that is a real shame. Here's my suggestion: After getting your food to-go MAKE SURE you look through everything and make sure you have each and every item BEFORE leaving the store. It'll save you money and time, because calling about the issue will not mean much. read more

Panera has to be one of my favorite restaurants. Whenever I'm in a bind to decided on a restaurant or I want something delicious and not too fattening, Panera is my choice. Here are my reasons why: First of all they have a great rewards program that offers you rewards on your birthday and one can easily get more. They have a nutritional menu that has their staples such as their signature salads, sandwiches, and soups. They also offer seasonal offerings. Since it's fall they have a delicious roast turkey harvest salad and autumn squash soup. They have bakery and cafe options for those with a sweet tooth. And their bagels are good too. The food is all reasonably priced. Honestly for the quality of food you're getting, it's a good price. I know others might disagree with me on this but I do think they have some pretty top notch items. They have a fireplace inside this particular location, love it! They have tables for groups or if you are by yourself to enjoy a nice meal. They cater events! You can have their sandwiches and baked good at your next company or family function. I know blood drives often cater and give out their bagels. All in all I think Panera is a great restaurant no matter what location you go to. This Syosset has indoor and outdoor seating. There is a decent sized parking lot. My only problem with this location is that getting in and out of the parking lot can be annoying. It sits in a heavy traffic area. read more

I find this particular location a pleasure to visit. Friendly staff and in four visits, plenty of seating. That is not the case in other locations, particularly the one in Carle Place which it seems the world goes to regularly. Many a time I have stood with trays in hand, my kids tugging at my shirt, waiting for a table to open up there. But not here. Racist staff . I will not eat at Panera bread anymore . They denied my right to use the restroom before I ordered and told me they would have to clean the entire bathroom because of covid 19. Which the restroom should be cleaned anyway it's procedure for any restaurant and it should never be closed. Then the staff worker pointed to the door and said to leave . Then the manager intervened and said I couldn't place an order and I needed to leave because I'm being "agressive-" when I was voicing my opinion with no psychical action. I think this is the freshest Panera on Long Island (at least of the ones I've tried). I work nearby and order to go for lunch at least once a week. The restaurant is clean I've only ever had an issue with my order once (forgot my drink cup not even that big of a deal to rectify). I usually sit and relax if I can and there's a large dining room in this location with lots of windows. If you're looking for a suggestion I recommend the you pick two pairings my go to order is half Caesar salad and a cup of chili. The perfect mix of hot and cold good for any weather! read more

I'm a fan of Panera Bread concept, as it has always been a life saver during all my family day trips and busy workdays. This is the first time I'm extremely disappointed with my meal here. The worst PB experience ever. Frontega Chicken Panini which is one of my favorites, came with almost NO chicken at all. When I complained, they made me another one, and there was a bit more chicken this time but it was absolutely cold. As well as their "hot water" for tea. And that is all on their least busy day of the year, Easter Sunday. I will never come back here for sure and think twice before going into any Panera Bread cafe. read more

I placed an order for delivery and realized that after an hour the tracker was still not stating that it's on its way. I called the store and they seemed to be unaware of the order and said it would be arriving in 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, we called back and they said it was on it's way. Another 30 minutes goes by and we call back and the manager says he does not know where the driver is. Very unprofessional and did not know what he was doing or talking about. They did not seem to sound sincere about the situation and here I am still waiting for my food after 2 hours...... Ridiculous. read more
