So disappointed in my local Panera today. My 1/2 sandwich was a joke with only one piece of bacon and half a tomato, supposedly on a grilled cheese, but where was my cheese? It was all bread and no fillings I ordered. On top of this, the line was out the door as the self-ordering kiosks were taking orders but not accepting payments. Only one had an out of order sign. We enjoy the Panera's menu with the soup, salad and sandwich options. We can each get the food we want at a reasonable price. If there is a problem with the order, it is corrected without a fuss. Are there issues? Yes , my salad was ordered without dressing but it was tossed in, remade salad. French onion served with croutons or cheese. Toppings were added upon request. This occurred, once each at the last two visits. In addition the coffee has been out or lukewarm. More attention to detail would be appreciated. read more

Visited this location on 3-29-23 at approximately noon. Location was not busy and went through the drive thru. Staff was very friendly and I ordered the Broccoli cheddar soup and the toasted pepperoni Baguette which cost over $10. This was undoubtedly the worst excuse of a sandwich I have ever ordered and whoever manages this location should be ashamed for serving this pathetic excuse for a sandwich. My husband and I visited this location last night and was very dissatisfied with almost the whole order, except for the chocolate chip cookies. We ordered a bowl of corn chowder that really didn't taste like corn chowder. A Turkey bacon sandwich that had lots of lettuce with hardly any meat. Wow!! The customer service here was wonderful! I was having an awful day my dog died and I was really annoyed that they were taking so long with our order I just wanted to get out of there. Customer Service by McKenzie who claims to be the Manager of Drive Thru & Restaurant is appalling, her disrespectful attitude and tone was more than one should be forced to handle; especially when paying close to $50 for lunch through the DRIVE-THRU.... Horrible! I came here at least five times and EVERYTIME they managed to ruin my order! I really wanted a soup bread bowl today, that's it! Not too hard! Nope! First off they didn't give me what I asked for, they even gave me a fork instead of spoon!!! Haven't been in a long time. Now that I am here I am reminded as to why. Ordered from the kiosk. Did not ask me for a pager number but asked for a phone number to text me. Also asked for name because they would "call" it out. Waited forever and finally went up to see what was taking so long. Food sitting there getting cold. Extremely disappointed with this Panera Bread location. On my first visit, I found a piece of plastic wrap in my soup. Tonight, their drive thru was not in use due to them being understaffed. When I went inside to order on the kiosk, I went to the counter and was told the kiosk orders take awhile to come through. I let the employee know that I just needed two soups, but he insisted I wait for the order to come in. I then waited 20 minutes for my soups, while watching a handful of other customers who ordered after me get their food first. I get it - systems are slow and restaurants are understaffed. I'm not normally one to write reviews, but when someone goes above and beyond to rectify a situation, I feel like they deserve some recognition. My mom and I had been at my grandma's apartment all day, getting it packed up to move her. We placed a to-go order from Panera for lunch and when I got back with the food, I realized that the dressing for my salad was missing and there was not a fork in the bag. Typically, the fork wouldn't have been a big deal, but since all of the utensils have already been moved, I really did need one. I called Panera and explained the situation to Melissa, the manager. She apologized profusely and told me that I could swing through the drive-thru to pick up my missing items. In addition to my salad dressing and fork, Melissa threw in all of these bakery items (YUM!) and wrote a sweet note on the bag. Now, THAT is what I call top-notch customer service. read more

I want to be completely candid here as I've been coming since 2012 when I moved to the area. It was Paradise Bakery then. For me... there was no better place to eat as I usually get sick anywhere else. (Too much grease -and I get sick when nobody else does from who knows what ) I've long been known to call this place "my kitchen"... since I don't cook. Coming many times a week. However... since the switch to Panera, something gradually horrible has occurred. The menu and even the price may be the same... there are nice drive up windows and delivery... nifty machines to make ordering more convenient... new decor... BUT.. all of this matters not when the food content has been reduced in quantity to the point where no one uses these services to buy the product because it is no longer cost effective to eat here. The staff are nice but it is a "challenge" for them to get 1 simple addition to the order correct so ordering delivery or take out is out of the question since I have never gotten one order correct. That would be a no brainer. Again...they are quick and nice about correcting everything when you are there...but you have just wasted your monetary investment for delivery and take out when consumer confidence in getting the order right is eliminated in the restaurant itself. I now use Applebee's accross the street. Which is hard -since I can only eat 1 dinner on the menu with a lot of instructions to the waitress as to preparation. I am, however, not hungry when I leave, and I can go as often as I like. It's just a little boring. I used to answer the emails regarding reviewing the restaurant I go to in the early days after the change but I stopped - no one was listening since it just kept getting worse and actually they've removed some things that were my favorites from the menu... which is irrelevant to this review ...just thought I'd mention it. I am not the only person to feel this way as I know many like myself who used to come here. As a matter of fact-that's how I started coming when I moved here- they told me ...so... maybe one day... This has to be the worst Panera Bread in the valley. I hate that it switched from Paradise Bakery! Time after time they never fail in getting the order WRONG! And nothing is ever done to compensate it, not even an offer to remake it until told to. What is the point of curbside service when it's never brought out to you and you call and there is no answer. Always great service when I go to a Panera. I really love this one though because it's always very clean and fast. Today we tried the order from your table on the app and it was awesome. It was just as fast and I think I'll do it every time. Ordering from the app also allows you to see if there are any new coupons that can be used. We've pretty much given up on this location. 9 times out of 10, our order is incorrect. I really want to like it here because there aren't many breakfast options available in Surprise, but they make it very hard when your order is constantly wrong. I hate being "that person" that has to complain and they make it seem like an imposition that you're asking for it to be corrected or it's your fault somehow. They also regularly run out of baguettes and will give you chips without asking. I come to Panera Bread to eat, not Panera Chips. In the end, they will usually fix your order, but again, it shouldn't happen this often. We are regulars and this happens far too consistently. When we can, we travel the extra distance to Wildflower Bakery at Arrowhead. We've never had an issue with them. I'm also not going to complain about the price of the food here like a lot of other people do. If it was too expensive for me, I wouldn't eat there in the first place. I don't know how the price is such a surprise to some people. You get really good food for what you pay. They also seem like they've amped up the rewards program a little which is nice. read more
