Nice location right off the interstate. That's the good. We ordered our food off the app. Should be ready in 14 minutes. Meanwhile, we looked for a table. Every open table was filthy. We ended up grabbing some napkins and wiping one off ourselves. 23 minutes in and the app was apologizing for our food being late. Eventually, I heard someone screaming my name so I went up and our food was ready, evidently for a while. The app did not update until we were halfway done eating. The food was as expected but because the restaurant was so dirty, I wasn't sure how I felt about eating the food. Note to self - don't stop here again. read more

Went to get a birthday treat for my birthday this year and at first I went online to do it and then it said go through the app so I downloaded the app to do it and at first it said I had to order a treat before I could get my treat so I did that and then when I was coming through the drive-through, I noticed you could get a cinnamon Crunch bagel with ham and stuff on it which yuck why would anybody want that and you get a cinnamon crunch latte to go with it but when you look in the coffee to order that with any other thing, you can't find the cinnamon crunch latte, do you have to get that sandwich in order to get that drink? that's ridiculous. Anyway, they couldn't find my order online. They made me repeat my name several times because the gal couldn't hear and seem to have a hearing problem and then they couldn't find my name. They couldn't find the order so I showed them the thing on the on the phone. They got a different gal. She came out and she said I didn't hit the yellow button down at the end but it didn't come up that way. It came right up confirmed and showed where to go to what time yada yada yada and I rushed over here to get it at 10:42 am when it wasn't ready then they said II HAVE to wait for another 5 minutes to get it. Why when it's just a cinnamon crunch bagel? And they didn't even warm it up they threw it iN A BAG even though I APOLOGIZED for everything, they threw it IN A BAG and didn't ask me if I WANTED it warmed, I want it warmed up CUZ ITS hard as a brick. I even put whipped cream on it cuz it was so dry, prolly from the day old bagels...I'll never come back. I would rather give this 0 stars but I have to choose at least 1 star. I saw the drive-thru had a few cars not many so I decided to go in. There was 1 lady in front of me getting gift cards. No biggie I'll wait. The lady helping her was polite but a little older and very slow. After standing there for 5 minutes she walked to the back and got someone else to help me. This lady came out to help and took my order and was about the same speed as the lady helping the other guest with gift cards. I then stood and waited another 17 minutes on 1 sandwich. Other people had been waiting as well. No one seemed to care about how long each order was taking. I ended up being 10 minutes late to work waiting to get a sandwich. Day one got to my destination to find I didn't have a spoon with my yogurt. Day two. They didn't have any bagels so put my sandwich on a croissant with a cold scrambled egg and no chipotle aioli. Listen up guys....if you do not know what an ice latte is when it is clearly written on your menu.....and it takes 3 guys to figure it out...there is something seriously wrong with whoever trained you. It took them 3 attempts to get an ice latte right...at first, I got a frappuccino...second, I got some kind of a mocha drink...and finally, I had to explain...make espresso, put some milk, and pour it over ice...as simple as that. My sister and I recently drove to and from Alton, IL for a funeral. We went down on Thursday and back home the next day. We stopped here on the way down and on the way back. Why? Because it's really clean, the staff is super helpful and the food very good. On Thursday they did not have a single pastry left when we stopped around 7:00. Not one! I remember I used to love going to Panera with my friends as a teenager, albeit in a different state, so I assumed I would enjoy my lunch here. I was wrong. All the menu items now are different from what I used to order. That's fine when your new items are better than your old items, however, the new butternut squash ravioli and new shrimp Caesar salad left much to be desired. The ravioli tasted like it had been frozen and not cooked correctly. The dough was mushy and frankly disgusting. I can make better ravioli at home with grocery store brands. The Caesar salad was lackluster and the shrimp was overcooked. The only thing that was tasty was the French baguette, which can hardly be made into a meal by itself. I was thoroughly disappointed by this experience and don't see myself going to any Panera location in the future. read more

Wow. Unbelievable. I go in to order take out for my family. Ordered simple things, grilled cheese. They rattled off three different breads. I asked for white. This is the most poorly managed Panera I've ever visited. First - I heard "we're out of that" THREE times when attempting to order from an employee (with a bit of attitude). I've eaten at a number of Panera breads over the last 6 months and this one was a mess. Ran out of baguettes and substituted with a bruised apple the size of plum. The green tea was literally empty with 2 hours left til close. Receipt was not printed and took manager or person who seemed like a manager time to dig it out of a printer when the crew could have printed out when I picked up order. Unfortunately Springfield is only home to two Panera locations, but this is a great one as far as service and food goes. I use to go religiously and my order is right 99.5% of the time, and when it's wrong they immediately/quickly correct it with generosity. The only downside is that the technology hasn't been updated and THERE'S NO WIFI. They give you wifi for 30 minutes and then say it won't be available in the main business hours (lunch and dinner), but in reality it's never available for more than 30 minutes. They're clearly not appealing to students, which is a shame because it's 5 miles from the University of Illinois Springfield campus. If they would upgrade technology and allow me use of their wifi so I can study, I would never leave. read more

We stopped at this one yesterday during holiday travel and the bathrooms were so filthy we didn't even use them. When placing our order we told the manager how unclean both restroonms were and she promised they'd be cleaned. Food unremarkable. Returned today en route home post travel. Bathrooms again filthy- dirt and trash on floors, no toilet paper on rolls, no paper towels and dirt running down toilet bowls. Tables filthy. Trashcans overflowing. Floor filthy with wadded napkins and food. Twelve people working and nobody cleaning. Were not here during peak lunch either. The worst Panera in America. read more

Ordered and paid for a bakers dozen bagels via the website for fast pickup. I ordered 5 different kind of bagels. Its Friday morning and bagels were to be ready at 9:33 am. I get there at 9:40 and no order there for me. They had 3 yes 3 bagels left which did not include mine. The staff said they were really busy. Then put more on!! First of all its too early to be completely out of bagels for a place that specializes in bagels. Second the website should advise based on availability or something like that!!
