I eat lunch from here almost 3 times a week. If a friend is joining, I dine in. Otherwise I do the awesome Rapid Pick up and take it back to the office. I like that because dining in sometimes comes with a slow wait to get your order taken. Everything else is fast. I had a catering order to place and the new website was being finicky, I called and spoke with Erin and she went out of her way to help me get my order taken care of and filled as quickly as possible. I was under a time crunch and she was friendly and took wonderful care of me. This is my neighborhood location, I usually go to a closer one for all of the office ordering needs, but I will go out of my way to give them my business going forward. Oh wow -- 2 days in a row they made me wait over 15 minutes past the promised delivery time for a rapid pick up order. Nothing rapid about it. We frequently order delivery for our company from Panera. Given their "I don't care we are late with your order," I think we will be choosing someplace else to bring in food for our twice monthly meetings. The shocking part was they really didn't care or apologize. Terrible attitudes there. Are they all like this or just the Martway location in Mission? read more

Bread bowl was tough to eat, very chewy. New England clam chowder was ok. Kinda disappointed in first Panera experience. Restaurant was clean and staff was nice and helpful. Bathrooms were clean, but small and kinda shabby. read more

It is a nice place to go into. I noticed the carpet are worn out from heavy traffic, dirty and not in good shape. I felt uncomfortable sitting down eat when you see dirty floors. It is a nice building and very comfortable there. read more

This has become my go to Panera in the area. I used to frequent the one in Lenexa on 87th, but since this spot put in a drive thru about about a year ago, you just can't beat it. It moves at a pretty good pace too. The staff is friendly, and the property is clean inside and out. My usual is the soup and half sandwich combo. I change up the sandwich selections, which are always fresh, but the soup is always a consistent choice, chicken noodle. There's nothing better to me, especially this time of year when it's body numbing cold outside. The one thing that I'm not a big fan of is the coffee. It seems like I'm always getting the bottom of the pot because it's not that hot and it has that old coffee taste. Not to worry though, I can still get my soup and sandwich here, and then hit up the Scooters next door for coffee. read more

This location always has great service. We come here often to dine in for lunch or grab pick up for dinner. Staff is friendly, food is consistent and good. Last night we gave the drive thru a try for a quick dessert. I thought they had it set up very well and the line moved fast. The kitchen sink cookie was AMAZING and huge, no joke you can share it. Pieces of chocolate and caramel in every bite. There is always a place to sit inside and dirty dishes are quickly whisked away when you are finished. We have never had an issue with online rapid pick-up. Love being able to just walk in and grab it off the shelf. Customer service is incredible. We ordered tomato soup and went to pick it up to find that someone had complained about it so they made a fresh batch and replaced all pick up orders. read more

I love this Panera, and I love the rapid pick up option through their app. I ordered my dinner after an evening meeting, drove to this Panera, and the order was complete and waiting on a shelf for me. I cannot recommend this service highly enough. Panera's food is great and quick and avoiding the line and waiting is simply amazing. I am moving closer to Shawnee Mission Pkwy in the next week. This Panera location will be getting lots of business from me in the near future. I also love how your purchases are automatically added to your my panera account through the app. read more

after a quick wonderscope visit last week with hungry kids (their snack machine was out of order) we headed over here for a quick afternoon bite. my son wanted a bagel and she asked me if I wanted it sliced the normal way or in the bread slicer. the bread slicer? I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was curious. seriously, I thought it was genius. why had I never been asked that before (or even thought of it). if I had more patience I would slice big bagels like this at home. it allowed both kids (and the adults) to all nosh on the bagel happily, enjoying all of the sweet crunchy stuff on the top of the cinnamon bagel in every bite - no cream cheese needed! for this reason alone, I am definitely now a fan of this Panera location! I used to love coming to this Panera. It is a couple minutes from my home and it was a great stop for morning coffee. I am from now on changing my routine. The last 3 times I have gone in there have been terrible experiences. Two times in a row, they were out of Hazelnut coffee ( which I am happy to wait for). When they refilled the carafes, the coffee was filled with grounds and tasted like mud. Fine, bad luck and things happen. This last and final stop, I waited 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee. I mean, 20 minutes? I know this seems just like I am impatient but coupled with the terrible previous experiences before have pushed me to no longer frequent this location. read more

Compared to other Paneras in the KC area, I have to say that this one is the best. I went last week, and the food seemed to be better than at some of the other locations, even though it was the same item. It's also a bigger location, which is nice, because Panera gets crowded around lunchtime, and having to scout out the restaurant like a packed parking lot is less than entertaining. The only problem I had, was the limit of wi-fi time. You are limited to 30 minutes, which I never realized before. I get having a limit, but I specifically ordered extra items so I could sit for awhile and study. I didn't even use the internet to study, just to check my e-mail on my iPod occassionally while I was there. 30 minutes is not a long time to use internet. (I only have an iPod not an iPhone, so I have to have the wi-fi to check e-mail.) That was my only problem, everything else was good. read more

I like this Panera, it's close to the Guy's place so it is a frequent choice for Sunday morning breakfast :-) Service is fast & cheerful, plenty of seating, and the food is always fresh. Coffee-lounge type armchairs in the front, booths & tables in the back. Love the bagels. read more

The worst dish I've ever had...anywhere! I like Panera but this was horrid. I tried the Soba Noodles with Chicken which has buckwheat noodles, spinach, napa cabbage blend, mushroom, onion,sesame seeds, and cilantro in umami soy-miso broth. The noodles were definitely not done and very chewy/hard, the broth tasted like pure soy sauce, and it barely had any other items other than a little spinach. The tiny amount of chicken that was included was thinly sliced and very soggy like it had been soaking for days. On top of that it was not hot at all, barely even warm. I looked online and found video reviews of this exact dish- my dish looked NOTHING like these. My dish was a blob of cold, uncooked noodles in soy sauce. This Panera location (in Shawnee on SMPKWY) did a terrible job serving food like this. If I could rate a zero I would. I threw out my entire dish and was too busy with my group of friends to mess with the situation (or take pics...which now I wish I had). Shame on the cook, and staff for not having some quality control (this was May 2nd 11:30am ish). read more

My grandma and I went inside to order a single family-size soup to go. We were the only people in line. 15 min passed before they noticed we were still waiting for A SINGLE ORDER OF SOUP. Then, the alleged manager, "Josh", INTERRUPTED my grandma, SPOKE OVER HER to offer an apology less sincere than the one Donald Trump gave Melania after his affair with Stormy Daniels, and told us, "sorry we can't please everyone!" as he made our soup "ready to eat" and not "to go" as we had asked... He literally made every mistake possible on A SINGLE ORDER OF SOUP and refused to apologize, take any responsibility, or even listen to feedback. I usually don't go to this location because my order gets messed up every time or they are out of stuff. Against my better judgement I went through the drive through anyway while on my lunch break today because this location is close to work. I ordered broccoli and cheddar soup and was surprised by an extra ingredient. A corner of the plastic bag that the pre-made soups come in had found it's way into my bowl!!!! It wasn't small either! Who knows what the bags come into contact with before being opened... Disgusting. Needless to say I lost my appetite and called the phone number on my receipt. They said they'd send out a "certificate" as a refund. The person on the phone sounded like giving out these certificates was a routine occurrence. Not a good sign. I will DEFINITELY NOT be returning to this location - no matter how close it is! The location on Martway is a zillion times better. read more

I ordered the chicken Alfredo tortellini and they put shredded turkey on it like I wouldn't notice? Would not ever eat at this Panera bread again! No souffle...no soy milk...no escape! Went to this location this morning and they were out of ALL souffles by 930am. This location is notorious for running out to the point that I actually say, "Do you have any souffles this morning?" Since I was stuck in the drive-thru with a car in front of me and cars behind me, I tried to order a latte with soy. I was informed they only had almond milk. No clue if that meant they did not have any other type of milk because I'd had to ask for them to specify wha they meant by out of souffles--the one I asked for or all of them...it was all of them but I had to pull that out them. SMH...I think the worst part was GETTING STUCK in their drive-thru for 15min with ONE CAR in front of me, just waiting to drive away with no food or drink! This drive-thru TRAPS you in and you just have to WAIT. SMH. I was LATE to work waiting to get out of a line with NOTHING. I don't think I will be back to this location. I will try 75th St with NO drive-thru. At least if they're out of everything I want, I can just walk out instead of WASTING MY TIME. read more

I wanted the strawberry poppyseed salad for my nieces shower. I called and ordered it the day before because I was getting 2 large salads. I asked twice if it would be ready between 6 and 6:30 the next day. Yes I was told, we'll have it ready for you by 6, not a problem. The problem was when I came in the next day at 6:15 to pick up 2 large strawberry chicken poppyseed salads, they had no record of my order. Are you sure you called this store? Yes, I was sure, I even checked that before I put my order in the day before. They didn't have enough salad ingredients prepped to make our salads. Panera is good if you're walking in but don't depend on any pre-orders. I sure won't. read more

Not sure what's happened with this place. I'm a little embarrassed to admit how often I frequent this particular Panera, and in general, I've always been happy. The last few months, something has changed. When did hey start putting the salad dressing on the to-go orders instead of in the cups. I thought it was a fluke the first time, but it's happened again. I got home with a soggy salad. I guess I'll need to remember to order it on the side next time. If that wasn't bad enough, my salad container was not even half full. Definitely not the quantity they give you when you dine there. Again, this is the second time in a row ....1/2 a soggy salad for the price of a full one. I have been going to Panera for years, it's easy, it's good, and it's quick. I made a rapid pick up order on Friday night, thought I had ordered from the Mission location but when I went through the drive thru to pick up they didn't have an order in my name and asked if I had maybe ordered at Shawnee Mission PKWY location ... I had. So I drove to this Panera (close to a foot of snow on the ground) I was happy to see that they also have a drive thru, pull up tell them I had made an order online and asked if I could pick up through the drive thru. Lexi told me, "no." ... so I drove around and parked, walked in to pick up my $72 order. 3 employees standing around behind the counter, and not one of them was able to walk to the front and grab my bag, take it to the window and hand it to me? Why have a drive thru? I had already paid, my order was ready, it truly was THAT simple. The food was okay, not as good as when I go to the Brookside, Martway, or Plaza locations- which is where I will continue to go. Soup was cold. Special instructions for a couple sandwiches were not followed (no sauce, sauce on the side). I won't be back here. read more
