This is the real deal. The guy who runs it used to run a deli in Brooklyn. Toledo has plenty of good Lebanese shawarma platters, but this is a different category. Nothing else scratches the itch. They upped their price to about $15, but when they did that they increased the portion size and included a drink and a bag of chips for free, so I think it's still a pretty good deal. Often they'll mix in some fries with the platter, too. As well as lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions and peppers. And they have Vernors, which you can't usually get at NYC halal trucks. So it's almost like NYC-Detroit fusion, the best of both worlds LOL! I haven't tried the rest of their menu much. I tried a lemon chicken sandwich once, and it was not on par with the ones that I've from the better delis in Harlem and The Bronx. It was kind of soggy and salty. I might try more of the subs at some point, but I really think of this as a one dish place for now, in spite of their long menu. I think it's hard to express just how happy I am to have this place a short drive from me.
