Do not go to this Panera. Been here a few times before and always mistakes or problem. Stopped in Saturday about 7:30. The cashier was not knowledgeable at all. I wanted my sandwich on cheese focaccia so I asked 1st. She went to sandwich makers and was told they were out of it. I asked what focaccia they had, she had to go and ask again. Only black pepper and plain. So disappointed, they always run out way before closing time. walked out without ordering. Just picked up an online order. They ran out of items that I ordered, so I am out of luck. The little strawberry rhubarb mini cakes look so unappetizing, they did not rise correctly when baked and are half the size of the container that they come in. I can't believe they would actually sell this product. I should have looked at the reviews of this Panera before going in! It was not only the dirtiest Panera I've ever been in, it was the filthiest restaurant I've been in for a long time. The bathrooms had pee on the floor. When I mentioned it to the hostess, she simply replied...oh. The silverware was dirty, the plates and bowls were dirty, the counters...ew! Absolutely not one of the best Panera locations. I came in to make a few salad orders. The cashier was nice which is why I'm giving it 3 star. I used the women restroom while at the place, it surely needed some serious attention. Very smelly and uncleaned. All of my Green Goddess Cobb salads did not have avocado in them. This was the worst Panera I have ever been to! I went here with my 4 and 1 year old after a shopping trip. Both kids were hungry and I ordered a large macaroni for the 2 of them. It took a while for the macaroni to come out and when it finally did - the noodles were totally raw and the cheese sauce was very watered down. I asked the guys that were handing out the orders to replace it. The guy looked at it and apologized, as you can clearly tell it was disgusting and raw. 15 minutes later I get another one. This time I try it first so my kids dont eat anything raw. It was oozing with freezing cold sauce! ABSOLUTELY disgusting. I walked straight up to the registers to ask for a refund. It was 30 mins in and my kids were so hungry by now. the 2 girls at the register were so nice but needed manager approval. The manager literally walked out - handed me the money back for a small (when i ordered a large) and didnt say a word- not even a quick SORRY! SO rude and inconsiderate with 2 small kids with me. I don't like just leaving negative reviews but Panera needs to know. Went at 1015am to get breakfast on a Saturday with family of 6, and our only choice for bagels were 1 sesame and a few blueberry bagels. So.. 2 choices?! I understand that it's a Saturday and you had a morning rush..but bagels should continuously be baking. The muffins and other breakfast options were gone too. When we went to get coffee, the containers were out. So at this point we're 0/2. It may be because they are short staffed so Panera needs to figure out why. read more

Ordering ahead of time is supposed to be convenient. What's expected is to be able to pick up your order and leave. Someone else took our order which made us have to wait for ours to be remade only to find out they ran out of bread for one of our sandwich orders causing us to have to change our order. We obviously complained and the manager said their system isn't great and doesn't monitor stock or anything. What makes me mad is someone can just pick up an order that's already been paid for. I will no longer be visiting this Panera bread location. I have given this location six to many tries. Each try they failed to complete my order properly. I just came home with a carry out order to find that my sandwich had one piece of chicken, no cheese and two different types of bread. As a former Panera Bread employee I am ashamed at how low the standards have become. I keep hoping it's just a bad day for them but sadly it's their normal. I am so in love with their soups. Go all the time. My fav is when they get the Autumn Squash. However the last few times I got it they only fill the bowl 3/4 full. Panera is well known for their soups! And id give 5 stars except.... This location in Oswego I ALWAYS have issues with. Mainly messing up orders. And a few times good quality. Today I ordered chicken and wild rice soup and a sandwich. I asked twice for extra sauce for sandwich. When I got back to work from my lunch break, my normally creamy soup was as thin as waster! And of course not just missing extra sauce on my sandwich it has no sauce period. So I had to go back. Manager was nice but... Really panera? My only suggestion is there is a fine line between cheery chat and imposing personal opinions, especially when it comes to children and eating habits. Panera can do no wrong in my eyes, individual locations, however, are a different story. No worries here, the morning staff was just cheery enough and I had no problem finding what I wanted. This location has the new gluten conscious cookies if you're into that. The triple chocolate looked fantastic. I just ran in for coffee because like Brendan said, Panera drive throughs are pretty slow. I like to split my coffee 1/2 & 1/2 light and dark roast. Panera's food is consistently good and their hazelnut coffee is phenomenal. However, the coffee would benefit from being served hotter. My only disappointment with this chain is the extremely slow drive thru. You will wait. And wait. And wait. If I'm getting a coffee to go I just park and run in because it's much faster. I love Panera Chicken and Wild Rice soup, so being under the weather tonight my husband kindly decided to attempt to stop and procure my favorite soup for dinner. After attempting to purchase at our Plainfield store (close to home) and being told that they were out so close to closing, he drove to this Oswego location (after phoning to ensure this location still had some (explaining his wife was sick) and asking if ok to pick it up via the drive through window). They confirmed they had it- when he pulled up and requested the soup they said pull around and the manager walked it out and said "I hope your wife feels better- go home and take care of her". Our family enjoys eating here. Unfortunately I recently had a horrible experience! I went through the drive thru and ordered 2 Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt sandwiches. $20 WOW! Okay I'm willing to pay the amount this sandwich is tasty and organic right? Well I got home and we were enjoying our sandwiches.. something was off.. it didn't taste the same as when I've had them before.. I open the sandwich and there are absolutely NO chipotle peppers on either sandwich! WHAT? So I drive back to Panera to show the manager my $10 sandwich.. she apologizes and admits that they were OUT of chipotle peppers and she had told the employees to not sell that sandwich... so I tell her I want a refund. She said she can only refund me for 1 sandwich! Confused? I told her I was going to contact corporate.. she said fine.. I called corporate and was told this Panera in Oswego is privately owned and that they will forward my complaint and the owner would contact me! I HAVE NEVER HEARD FROM THEM! I placed a catering order online. The website wouldn't allow the customizations that I wanted so I contacted catering. The system transferred me to Downers Grove (15 miles away) and the woman who anwered the phone knew NOTHING about how the website was set up and she was of NO help and only further frustrated me. I placed the standard order and waited for the confirmation email. Once the email confirmation arrived, I called the local store handling our order. The sales person in the Oswego store was VERY helpful and got the order delivered when I needed it!! THANK YOU. Once this location moved, everything has gone downhill. Service is poor. Employees spend time discussing crappy hour assignments instead of paying attention to the customer. What the heck happened to Panera? Maybe when they merged with Crispy Cream they lost their touch. Not only did I used to be a fan of Panera, I used to work there about 12 years ago. The Oswego location does their best to make up for their woefully subpar service but you always have to ask. They get their orders wrong on a routine basis, either drive through or walk in. Their prices are sky high. Their quality has gone way down as has their portion sizes. Pay more, get less in quality, service, value. Now they want to try delivery! Good luck with that! I will never step foot in this panera again. For a while I've felt like this panera has gone downhill. The quality has been poor and portion size ridiculous. Tonight was the icing on the cake. I went there for dinner with my son. We ordered 2 you pick 2's. We were told they are out of the French bread to go with our soup, first ding, you are a bakery and run out of bread. Second I go up to pick up my food and was told that the broccoli cheddar soup I paid for was out so they could replace it with something else or refund my money. I reluctantly picked out something different. After 15 minutes my new order was ready and it was wrong. I told the server that it was wrong and to just refund my money. He said "ok, I'll take you to the front to my supervisor". The supervisor working this shift was extremely rude to me. Said it is against company policy to refund people. I asked why the server would have offered that to me, the server denied saying it. Then the supervisor said "well I'll just refund your money, but I can lose my job for this." I think he was full of it!! I've never heard of a restaurant not refunding the customer when an order was wrong, let alone out of something I paid for. Oh yeah a my sons food was a burnt panini and chicken noodle soup that was pretty much just broth. Needless to say I'm annoyed and never got my refund. In my 3 years of going to this location, this is consistently the worst Panera I have ever experienced. I've had issues with every aspect at all times of day, any day of the week. My mom stopped going here and prefers the location by 59 in Naperville- in fact the workers there have often admitted that the Oswego location is known to be bad and that they just don't care. I've ordered pick up to find they never got my order, or that they've sold the last of my order to customers in the store (who ordered after my online order)..it's not about getting the order right, it's going there hoping they forget the 1 ingredient you can do your best to do without. They often do not close the to-go containers properly or at all. The avocado, on at least 4 occasions, has been brown to the point where there'd be nothing left if you scrapped it away. The mac and cheese is always cold and watery. The sandwiches are flat and look like gas station quality. The grilled cheese is never grilled, warmed maybe, but the cheese has only come melted once. I cannot count how many times we've opened our food and said, "they really just do not give a sh.." The kicker is I heard that it's a corporate location- you'd think they'd HAVE to be on top of things there. So fed up with this location and ready to make sure others realize it. EVERY SINGLE TIME I've come to this location they forget to give me something that I've paid for....the last time my salon ordered lunch from here they forgot every single soup on our order, how does that even happen! They don't pay attention at all to what they're giving you! Today I went here & ordered French onion soup and asked for extra cheese & croutons. I got back to work & opened my bag to find they gave me NONE but they sure didn't forget to charge me extra for it. If croutons & cheese weren't the main ingredient to the soup I probably wouldn't be that upset but I basically ate broth for lunch today, yum!! They have the slowest drive thru out of any fast food restaurant in this area, Ive waited up to 25 minutes before waiting for my food. Who wants to waste that much time waiting in line & then get home to find out they didn't even give you everything?! They're so quick to give you free food the next time you come which is nice but how about you spend more time training your staff to get the orders right.
