This was our second time at Panera. On the first visit, my son's tooth came out from chewing on the peace of bread. Today our bread was cold and very hard to chew. When I asked for warmer bread, employee showed me to a microwave to make it warmer. I shouldn't have to come to a restaurant and warm the bread. Turkey BLT sandwich was very blend and flavorless. . We loved it, but knowing they're expensive, we were smart about ordering. Two of us split a whole sandwich and a bowl of soup. They had a deal that if you also bought a drink, you could add a pastry for $0.99. We got two of those and saved them for later. The ham and cheese - what my husband bought for less than $7 - was too big for him to eat it all, but man was it good! (And I don't usually like ham!) We had enough left to get some of it to-go! We enjoyed the pastries tonight. In case you do Swagbucks, be aware that you can redeem your points for a Panera gift card. I saved up for a $25 card, so it only cost us $5 out of pocket for the three of us. Not bad, for a little birthday splurge. :) FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW: Panera Bread isn't the same as going to regular fast food places. No, it isn't all low-salt, etc., *but* it is organic, high quality food, and what they don't sell goes to the shelter, so that's awesome. And if you like bagels, try the cinnamon crunch (I think it's called). One last thing: The staff was really nice. There were three up front, and all of them helped us in one way or another, by giving helpful suggestions, assisting in carrying the food to our table, and getting stuff for us -- like a to-go bag! It was the first time I've been to a Panera. I let my 17 year old pick the lunch spot. I'm not usually a fan of or a supporter of chains. This one just reinforced my bias. The roll was so tough I was afraid my crowns would pull out and the Caesar salad dressing was not authentic. It tasted strange like roasted red peppers were in it. Food is pretty good! First time there I found a tiny bug in my salad and they forgot my bread. Mistakes happen, not a big deal. Second time the chicken in my pasta wasn't cooked all the way. They forgot my bread and chips. Sadly I didn't notice till I got to work and I only have a certain amount of time for lunch, or I would of gone back. read more

It's really hard for me to give them 3 stars, but for my experience of the first Panara in my area, but I think it's fitting. I should preface that my wife and I are from Florida, and have been eating at Panera for years (At least 2005). Every time we travel, we make a point of checking for Panera Bread on our route to stop by for a bite to eat. I say this so you understand that it is by far not the first time We've eaten there, and we do go out of our way to eat at Panera when we can. Now, for our experience: The building was nice, though on a smaller scale than most others we've been to. We ordered a couple Bacon, Egg, Cheese on a Bagel sandwiches with two specialty coffees. There was 1 other family there and they already had their food, yet it took almost 15 minutes for our order to be ready. (-1 star) The eggs on my sandwich were way over cooked to the point of rubbery (My wife's was fine). I'm not sure how that's possible as they were coated in moisture. I pulled off the inedible eggs to eat the plain bagel and couldn't even enjoy that. The bagel itself had became soggy due to the amount of moisture on the sandwich. Luckily my wife loves me and gave me 1/2 of her sandwich. (-1 star) The Coffees were typical Panera coffee, so no complaints there, though I wish I was given the option to get it in a to go cup, even though I ordered food to eat there. To be fair, we were there the first week they opened, so they may still have been working out the kinks. We've waited years for a Panera to come to the Treasure Valley, and I think we will wait a few more months for them to get everything worked out before we give them another shot. read more

Pretty disappointed. $30 for 2 half sandwiches and 2 cups of soup and a kids meal. Seriously, the kids meal was sliced white bread, 2 slices of ham and a Kraft single type of sliced cheese(no mayo or nothing) and a GoGurt. No drink included or dessert...$4.29. I also was disappointed that there weren't any descriptions underneath the items so if you want to know what each sandwich has on it you have to ask. read more

It's a really good place.. If you get there early in the day. I have gone 2x this week and they are "out of bread" how are you out of flatbread? 2x This week by 5pm? I love this place. Everything is really fresh and tastes great! It might be a little more than what you'd like to spend on a salad but the portions are generous and you get what you pay for. Have been to several different panera's in several diffrent location and this is my less favorite. Although it is brand new and nice the flow is weird.. when u walk in there is a cluster of registers but no definate lines. And there is no self check out which is the best thing ever.. also they don't bring you your food and you have to clean your own plates up and no refills on the lemonade.. all big fails.. there food is just as good as any other panera just seem like there falling short on some things.. I hope the new one that they open in meridian isn't like this or I will be highly disappointed. If you have never been feel free to check it out if u want to drive to nampa but if you can wait then I would.. there isn't anything really special about there food it is fresh and good quality but it's prices pretty high for what u get.. I would probably never go there is my wife didn't love there soup.. read more

I had only been to Panera once before in San Diego, CA so I was excited to try it out here in Nampa Idaho with a friend for lunch. I am on a no bread diet, so I was really excited to see the Cobb Salad with avocado on the menu. I got my salad and it looked really good. I hadn't specified what kind of salad dressing I wanted so I went back up to the pick up counter to ask the employee there if I could have some Ranch dressing. She said, "we don't carry grocery store type dressings." What about Blue Cheese? "Nope." I asked if there was any type of creamy dressing? She said some kind of "Creamy Greek." Although my salad was over the top delicious, I would of liked it much better with a ranch or blue cheese dressing. I have never heard of a restaurant that only had a vinegar and oil type dressing so I hope that you'll consider adding those types to your menu. There is a new Panera going in really close to my house that I was really looking forward to, but taking my own salad dressing is kind of inconvenient. As we were leaving, I went to use the rest room and was shocked that there were no seat covers available. I kept looking all around thinking I just missed the case. Nope, no seat covers at all. That is a real turn off for a public restroom and especially for a brand new restaurant. On the other hand, I absolutely loved the undermount sink and the automatic faucet that put out nice, warm water without having to adjust the faucet. read more

Previous visits for a quick breakfast or lunch when on the road have proven to be decidedly average. My recent visit to the newly opened Nampa location would do nothing to move me off of that conclusion. I was looking for some comfort food (albeit a national chain's interpretation of that) and ordered the Classic Grilled Cheese and a cup of creamy tomato soup. At almost $12 including a drink I assumed that this would at least live up to what is served at other national chains. Soup was reasonably well balanced but nothing that I couldn't get from a can. Things really broke down when it came to the sandwich. A single slice of nondescript cheese (likely American but definitely processed) hidden somewhere between two overwhelming slices of Texas Toast, grilled dry. Bland and uninspired doesn't even begin to cover it (The sandwich itself was around $7...I would estimate the cost of goods somewhere around $0.60). I don't understand the Cult of Panera that seems to be out there...maybe I'm ordering the wrong things or maybe I'm expecting too much. I think I'll take my $12 local next time. read more

Not very impressed 22 dollars for 2 half sandwiches and 2 cups of soup. Food was ok but I am sure soups were canned or frozen. I think the drive to kneaders or deli George is worth the trip to going to here. I prefer subway to this and that's not saying too much. read more

Service was great but the wonton soup I had was expensive and musty tasting then, the thai chicken flat bread sandwich seemed like varmint paste on mystery bread. I am really getting tired of placing my order and not getting everything that I was charged for! Panera is great food, a little pricey but good. Went through the drive-thru, ordered a salad, chips, drink and a cookie. Ok the cookie was what I really wanted. A triple chocolate cookie. My mind was on it all morning long. While sitting in line I decided to order lunch too. NEVER got my cookie! Please, please expediter, double check our orders. I guess that from now on I will hold up the line to check each item against my receipt to make sure you have done your job correctly. We received a gift card from Panera for Christmas so my wife and I gave it a try. Got our order in quickly and waited for the Greek Salad with chicken and my wife's Asian salad with turkey chili to arrived. She picked it up at the pick-up window in a very short time. The meals with bread were naked, no butter, knives no salt or pepper on the table. So back to the window. The pepper was in the smallest paper tear thru it contained may 10 pepper chunks, same with the salt. The butter was in the smallest tear thru also. If you are a pepper lover like me, I opened 6 of the small containers would have been the same for the salt. The butter was hard and in those super small tiny tubs, took 4 tiny tubs to make the cold roll half way enjoyable. The chicken on the salad was cold and we were not served with any additional dressing to put on the chicken, No Tobasco for the chili. How can a multi-million chain not have the money for pepper and salt shakers and tubs of whipped butter, The knifes were plastic and broke upon cutting into the bread. The food tasted good, but come on don't make it a chore to enjoy it. read more

The Staff is generally pretty friendly and eager to please. Whenever I come in and see Efrain working I can't help but to smile! he's always very friendly and answers any questions that come his way. He also has the best suggestions! Their bread is always a delight, but some of the pastries are on the dryer side, especially if you come in later in the day. They also tend to run out of my favorites pretty quickly (Chocolate Duet Cookie, Cranberry Orange Muffin) but that's understandable since they are more popular items. I try not to order items with avocado on them though, sometimes it's still hard and near impossible to chew and other times it's extremely mushy and even a little brown or black so I think they should crack down on quality control a little bit. The people who work in the back are always really friendly when I stop by the window to get my food, I don't think they get enough credit with customer service. The young lady putting together the plates does well with presentation and is always quick to greet you and crack a few jokes. If there's something wrong with the order than they make sure to get it fixed for you before anything else gets done and if anythings missing they'll bring it to you're table personally. I've even seen them bring people free pastries on occasion! It's definitely the staff that keeps me coming back to this location time and time again. read more

This was my first trip to a Panera Bread. I tried to do an order online, but it wouldn't accept my credit card, telling me to try again later. Strike one. So, I went into the location and made my order. The order was correct, and it was delivered relatively quickly. Their to-go packaging was also good. But the food and the portions left a lot to be desired. I ordered the Thai Garden Chicken Wonton bowl. It was fine, but for $8.99, I won't be ordering it again. Strike 2. I saw I could make it a meal and add a half salad for$2.99. I wanted to try the chicken soba noodle salad, so I did that. It consisted of about 5 leaves of spinach, a small spoonful of noodles and 5-6 pieces of chicken. If that's the "half" salad, I can't imagine paying $9.49 for the full salad. The 3 bites of salad were good, but I won't pay that much for such a small portion again. Strike 3! For a pretty basic soup and salad place, the prices are high and the portions are very small. There are plenty of better options in that category in the valley and I will continue to visit those in the future. read more
