Generally, gay employees don't bother me, but this place took it to the next level. "Panera Pride" shirts were fully present and the employees seemed very mentally fogged and robotic. The lobby was the lone plus because it's well furnished; likely due to the corporate budget, but a nice lobby doesn't make subpar food worth it. This was our first time trying Panera Bread. We ordered three half sandwiches and two cups of soup. With delivery fee and tip we paid nearly $44. So extremely high priced. Did not get to interact with the staff but I'm pretty sure they don't care about anything because when our order arrived the lid to one of the soups had popped off and was leaking everywhere. Speaking is soup I ordered the Creamy Tomato soup and after one bite my mouth was drenched in oil. My wife ordered the Homestyle Chicken Noodle and if I didn't know any better I'd say all they did was open a can of Progresso soup and dumped it in. My mother-in-law's sandwich wasn't even prepared the way we requested it. Overall not a great experience, and it will probably take a lot for me to go back. read more

My husband and I eat at the Panera Bread about 3 -4 times a month. We usually eat inside and have never had a problem with our order. However, last night it was just me and it was storming outside so I went to the drive thru. That was a mistake. I bought the pick two, which is a cup of soup and half a sandwich. The sandwich had 2 small slices of turkey. To be able to taste the turkey I put both pieces on one side so I had basically a 1/4 of a sandwich and they didn't even fill my small cup with soup. I've been coming here for a few years now. I'm usually here in the mornings. Today, like most other days, I got my bagel and hot tea. Yes, it feels a bit overpriced, but so is everything else anymore. The seating area is always clean and I appreciate the corner spots to tuck away into. This review is mostly to give Kudos to Roger. The picture looked great, after all it is the Chefs choice sandwich. There are some great chicken sandwiches out there, Chick-Fil-La, Habit, but Paneras doesn't have it. It reminded me of the type of sandwich you'd expect at a church retreat where they are serving 500 people for lunch. Sorry Paneras, you struck out on this one. The rating could be lower if you or someone you know has auditory processing or other overstimulation issues. And then at the same time I'm still learning/ remembering even at my age, when I'm actually in the restaurant, that yep, it's a loud and/or busy restaurant so there will likely be overstimulation and/or a headache soon. The bathroom music at 3 PM was extremely loud to the point where I couldn't wait to get out of the bathroom more than usual. It wasn't unpleasant even if it was unfamiliar, it was just blaring. When I ate there with my friend, who had gift cards, it was very very busy. It was lunch time at about 1 PM. The employees seemed friendly & willing to help, and tried to explain things but didn't always explain well, such as just tell you to slide the gift card after you asked if you can pay with cash and gift card. Then when it didn't allow another form of payment to be added we are told they don't have a way to split payment so that is a hassle, even if a minor one. And I think they are too expensive. $8-10 for the total price of the pick 2 items such as a half sandwich and cup of soup is a lot in my opinion, and is more of a fast food place charging restaurant prices, and the half Caesar salad with chicken that my friend got for $8 was too much as well, in my opinion. I ordered the small broccoli cheddar macaroni and cheese and what I received was a very small portion for $5 something, especially considering what it is, and yet I was hungry and distracted because it was so busy and loud and I ate a couple bites before realizing it was plain white creamy mac and cheese. It was tasty, but I finally realized it wasn't what I ordered. There was no hassle getting a serving of the correct thing and they offered me a "to go" container for the mistake, but I wasn't sure about that, I just needed to eat. I ended up being full/satisfied because I had the mistake left and the new one and ate both, but then there's almost nothing to me so I often need all I can get. I guess it was good though, because it caused a mini food coma not long afterward. I don't give a damn if it's pre-packaged and frozen before being boiled before served. It tastes like heaven in my mouth. It is rather price for how much you get though. Easy access off the freeway. Store was quite clean and there were plenty of tables available including dozens outside. Menu is easy to understand and very descriptive. I ordered a vanilla latte and a cream cheese pastry which total came out to five dollars. The staff was fairly young but very attentive and really tried to answer any questions I had as best as they could. I will say that this place has a bit more of a restaurant feel than a coffee shop atmosphere though it practically brings both worlds together. Surrounding can be a bit distracting if you're trying to get homework done or are having a business meeting. All in all, a great place to grab a bite and hang out with friends. read more

Panera Bread is a welcome treat for me now and again. I usually get the tuna sandwich since they are one of the rare restaurants who do not put raw onions in their tuna mix. I am allergic to raw onions. Not cooked... cooked are fine, but raw has a different... I'm not sure... chemical balance? The complex vegetable changes completely when cooked. Anyhow, I love it when I find a place that doesn't add raw onions into mixes. They become my new favorite! And Panera is way up there! I have to admit that I normally go here just to sit and have a cup of coffee. However, the interior reminds me of a low-rate cafeteria, with plain chairs and tables all lined up next to each other. There is no real area to sit that allows for a more secluded experience should you happen to want to work on your laptop or participate in a private conversation with someone. I have visited a Panera Bread in Germantown, MD that has a much better atmosphere and sitting environment. That location us much more appealing for work or private conversations. It's about time Panera comes to Idaho! One of the saddest parts of moving to Idaho was finding out there weren't any Panera Breads around. The food is always great, and the Nampa location doesn't disappoint. The interior is pretty nice, and being new it is the cleanest Panera I've ever been to of course. The place was absolutely packed which was to be expected during its first Friday evening. The line was moving exceptionally slow, mostly because it was probably many patron's first time eating at Panera. The staff were handing out menus to people in the line and answering any questions they had before they got to the registers, however for whatever reason the checkout process for many seemed quite slow. You can order online and I'd definitely recommend doing so while the place is still new. The outdoor seating was really nice and I enjoyed the experience as well as the food (the Chipotle Chicken is my all time favorite, but I miss when it used to come with a pickle on the side. read more

Panera is one of our favorites for quick and good food, especially when traveling. Beats stopping at McD to use their restrooms and the clientele is a bit more upscale, along with pretty good food, clean premises, quick service and fair prices. We were sort of surprised to find the first Treasure Valley Panera being opened in Nampa. But it does seem a reasonable choice of location. Most Paneras seem to be close to a freeway, in our experience, and this location is right off I-84. Finding it is not too hard. Off Midland Blvd, turn west on to N. Marketplace Blvd towards the McD (instead of towards Costco). and turn left at the McD. Continue past McD and you will see Panera on the left, next to the Cracker Barrel. According to the servers, this is a company owned Panera, rather than a franchise. It is clean, modern, and well laid out. The menu boards, pastry and breads are well laid out so selection is easy providing you know in advance what you want. But if you are new to a Panera, it may take time to order as you peruse the goodies and menu boards. The breakfast menu stops at 10:30 AM. Hot menu items are many. Lunch goes from regular sandwiches, panini, hot dishes, soups, and salads. Calories are shown by each item on the menu boards. We like the You pick 2 lunch, pick 2 of the following for your lunch: Cup of Soup · Half Sandwich · Half Salad · One Flatbread. The Broth Bowls with Soba Noodles or Quinoa are also good and different. While we were there between breakfast and lunch, as we were on a Costco run, the place was not crowded. But as were were leaving, the place began to fill for the lunch crowd. Seating is plentiful with standard height chairs and tables, booths, and some bar type stools and tables. Access for mobility challenged patrons is good with a single floor and wide spacing between tables. the only thing we would like to see is more attention to wiping of tables. Service was quick as the staffing was sufficient to handle the upcoming lunch crowd. Questions were handled and explanations were good and as detailed as necessary. If you plan to be a regular customer, ask for the Panera Rewards Card. You can also pre-load the card with $$, much like Starbucks' Cards. You can also pay with Credit Cards, Cash, Apple Pay, or the Panera Card. Parking is good and plentiful. Handicap access is easy and correct and with 2 spaces for placarded vehicles. Rest rooms are fully adequate for wheel chair patrons. The area should see other Panera Breads in the future, hopefully in Eagle and Boise. For a chain, we find them useful and attractive with better than average food. read more

I was working their for about 8 months... it started off okay. Then people started quiting because our GM is really passive aggressive. So I started to catch on to why everyone was leaving and getting treated bad. The prep in the back of the house "Andrew" was very slow after multiple complaints from his coworkers. The "managers" wouldn't do anything about this. More months went by and I tried to be put on the schedules for Christmas break because I only worked weekends, and I was needing some money so I could have a Christmas for myself and family. I asked 4 weeks in advance and every week leading up to the day we went on break. The mangers didn't do ANYTHING to listen. Instead, they gave me less hours. Worst work Experience I've ever had. Panera Bread used to be a fun place to go with moderate prices and good food and drinks. In the last 8 months or so, things have changed quite a bit. The prices are more, quality and quantity have gotten less. The food is inconsistent, sometimes great, sometimes not. The General Manager Lizeth Macdermott has been rude and disrespectful to me on numerous occasions. Apparently she doesn't like having to honor promotions that won't work, and she has to come out to the register to fix it. In addition, the customer service items ( sugar, etc.) aren't kept well stocked as much. Dishes and silverware aren't cleared from the bins as much. Lastly, the drink Bubblers have cloudy looking stuff in some of them. This usually means bacteria or mold from not being cleaned out, or from combining old juice with new juice. In conclusion, there are a lot of nice people who do care, but the restaurant not being clean, items not stocked, and the bad attitude of the GM has ruined it for us.
