First/last time customer. Went there for lunch today to get a sandwich, and spent almost 10 bucks on the italian, which frankly, is surpassed by the Winco deli sandwiches for $5. There was enough basil mayo on it for two sandwiches, and was oozing out in the wrapper The giardiniera was piled up after i finished my meal. It didnt taste like much, other then basil and mayo. I am in aww over my amazing experience here. It's my first time. I have a lot of food allergies and am not able to go and try new things. A friend convinced me to come. We came at about 2pm when there wouldn't be many ppl at the restaurant. The cashier went above and beyond to help locate all the ingredients and spices in the items I was interested in. The manager was also very helpful and made sure no cross contamination happened during the cooking process. Everyone we were with loved what they chose to eat. The Panera near our home in Portland is terrible and we had assumed they all went downhill. On a road trip through here we had limited choices, we needed something semi quick that wasn't fast food. We were reluctant to go here because of our past Panera experiences, but we were pleasantly surprised. The derive was fast and friendly, the food delicious, and bathrooms clean. Also really love the menu choices for breakfast and selection of ice teas and coffees. Definitely glad all Panera's haven't become awful like in Portland. read more

My adult daughter and I had dinner there. It's called Panera Bread. Panera translates to bread basket. So it's called bread basket bread, who through of that? My bread on my sandwich was burnt, and the edible parts so hard to chew that my healthy jaw and teeth were sore from a half sandwich. I even CUT my mouth. The baguette, also burnt. The bread isn't crunchy and rustic, it's got a hard stale outer chew that isn't befitting of the companies name. They should warn that you have to be between 5 and 60 years old with healthy teeth to eat the baguettes. Why do they still not offer a better selection of sides or rolls? It's called panera bread- I think the bread should be amazing and the focus. My 10.00$ pick 2 was so small and doesn't include a drink. Half a sandwich and half a salad. Both were very skimpy, low flavor profile, and just not very good. I had 2 of my old favorites, Napa almond chicken salad sandwich, and Greek salad, which I had to order altered to make it the original Greek they used to have, which was much better. Both items were very small. My daughters Grilled cheese was very hard to eat and also burnt. Her green goddess salad was good. However, We were both still hungry after dinner. For the price they should try harder, and bus their own tables. I have a photo of the burnt bread and the chunk of skin the sandwich ripped off the roof of my mouth if anyone thinks I exaggerated. The last time 2X we went to Panera were extremely disappointing - once almost two weeks ago we ordered two duos and the new Toasted Pepperoni Mozzarella sandwich with a side salad. The broccoli cheese soup and salad was excellent but both halves of the Chicken Napa salad were the tiniest we've ever had (like they used the end pieces of a loaf and cut in half...we each ate our half in 4 bites). The toasted sandwich (while a great flavor) barely had any cheese or pepperoni on it...great bread, tho, but $10 for a little pepperoni and cheese is way too expensive. Stopped by tonight to give them another try, as I've been a customer for over 10 years...I went through drive thru and placed my order. The employee advised me I had a free pastry/bakery item and advised me when it expired and asked if I wanted to add to my order today...I ordered a pastry and advised that I was military (as they offer a discount). She advised our total would be at the window. When she advised me of the total, I asked if that included the military discount and she advised that it did. I paid and she told me to pull into a space in the front and they'd bring out the order. Before I pulled away, I asked for my receipt...it did not include the discount. I went inside to get discount and was advised that because I'd already paid, it was too late. When they looked at the receipt, I was told that I can't get two discounts. I asked why I wasn't advised that the free pastry I earned disqualified me for my military discount and I was ignored. I advised that I'd take my free pastry and to cancel my order. The employee didn't comment but gave me my free pastry (that I earned) and refunded my order without saying a word. Obviously, the quality, quantity and service has gone down hill while the prices have skyrocketed. Typically I love Panera, but this branch needs work. We ordered a couple of Turkey Avocado BLTs and a cinnamon roll last night for rapid pickup. When we arrived we found the staff were almost nowhere to be seen (we were later told everyone was on break). Our order wasn't ready (even though the app said it should be) and when checked - we saw the cinnamon roll wasn't included - we had to go back inside and get it. Once we got home we found our sandwiches were lacking bacon - again, they were BLT sandwiches. Pretty sad service. Take notice management - you guys need to up your game. read more

This place has gone downhill! The service and food were far less than desirable. Waited 10 minutes for a mocha and a croissant and when my table finder finally sounded, I went to pick up to get my croissant and drink and....no croissant. Asked the staff where it was, I got stared at like I was crazy! Handed her back the receipt and she was like , "oh". "Meet upfront and I'll get it". Went to the front and she threw it on a plate, not warmed, and handed it to me. My mocha tastes like watered down burnt coffee with a splash of milk, it's a mocha.....where's the chocolate? Someone needs to learn how to make lattes and mochas because this thing tastes like a bad latte versus Their breakfast menu has completely changed and the offerings have dwindled and the took away sausage. So I decided to give them a second chance because I thought my last visit might have been a little skewed by opinions I've gotten about how good it was from other people. I was hoping that visiting them again I could raise my rating but unfortunately I think I just have to lower it. I'm sure many people love Panera bread I've heard such amazing things about it but I think if you're used to the type of restaurants we have here in Idaho it may not be what you're looking for and I just want people to be aware of that. On my visit today I decided to do a preemptive strike because I figured out the portion sizes are pretty small so I got entire baguette to go along with my meal. And I'm happy I did it because honestly I think their bread really is amazing but I didn't need it for with what I got today. So once again I would like to say that the staff is great they are super friendly very helpful and the bread is really good I would go and get the bread, but their food is just not what I've come to expect in this area and I don't know if that's me being too harsh on them or not. I thought it was a California-based company which would make sense to me why the portion sizes are smaller and why everything is more on the light side but I did some research and I found out that they are out of Missouri so that was interesting because I visited Missouri on countless occasions and the food that I've gotten from them has been so rich and decadent and delicious that I not really sure why everything seems to be so light. So I might visit I got there Alfredo tortellini I've seen the commercials for it it looked delicious and I got a side Caesar salad. The portions were a little bit bigger this time I'm not sure what the difference was but again I don't think I should of had to pay $17 for the amount of food I got I will add in that I got the baguette so maybe that was worth it but I'm not really sure. Anyways for the tortellini there was almost no flavor to it and, there was very little sauce there was some cheese on top of it melted but past that I really didn't get the flavor I was hoping for and a pasta dish or in any dish really. And for the salad what can I say it was a Caesar salad there was nothing all that special about it the croutons were obviously made in house and those were really good but it was just a salad. I do hope that you read this review and you still are willing to try it this is the type of food you want I think somebody who's health-conscious would love this restaurant, everything seems to be geared towards trying to be healthy but personally I'm a meat and potatoes girl, and I can honestly say this is the type of place for myself and the people I hang out with. read more

Goof, but not a great salad like most Panera's. Lettuce was a bit wilted and chicken didn't taste great.

So disappointed to see Panera at this location not opening until 8:30 am. My own opinion is their coffee and pastry items are the best part of the menu but I am up and away long before 8:30 in the morning! read more

It's funny to me people from idaho who've never eaten here before. I've been going to Panerai for years back east and the only really good food is breakfast. The help was extremely unfriendly... The food was mediocre at best... and for the price? A half sandwich and a bowl of soup? Please! I stick with the competition and/or just make something at home. DEFINITELY NOT a good dining experience. What the hell did I pay for? Bad service and overpriced lunch. Perhaps the one's back in CA are still excellent. Whatever happened on the way to Idaho really messed this establishment up. The atmosphere was extremely cold and felt like an oversized New York artist loft. No - you're not Chipotle. We have gone twice to this location . . . . And we loved every minute of it! The service was great!!!! Yvonne is so amazing and even remembered us the next time we went in. The food was fantastic. I go to Panera often. I really love their ham n cheese sandwich. The freshly baked bread always smells so good. The prices might be more than what some people might expect but "you get what you pay for". The ingredients are fresh and settle well. Their mango smoothie is really good. I love Panera's soup and salads. Although, a few of the employees at this location seem lazy. Perhaps additional training is needed. Don't make assumptions, ask! Include butter with bread. When one asks for croutons, and cheese when ordering French onion soup, please make sure to include them. That's how it's normally served just about everywhere. I ordered food from the drive-thru and as usual they forgot one of my items. Waiting for the server to open up the window again (she ignored me for a good minute) finally when she acknowledges me i tell her they forgot my soup, thats all I said. All she says is she will get the manager. Not once did i ask to speak to the manager. The manager comes to the window and I recognize him (Matthew Ho****) as the guy who gave me my food originally, so i ask him if he checked the bag before giving it to me. He says no. I explain that my soup is missing. He says okay. Thats it. No apology, no let me get that soup for you. Just okay. So i tell him this happens every time i come here. Again all i get is an okay. Since all i was getting was okays out of him i hand him my receipt so he can see what soup it was. He grabbed my receipt crumbled it up and tossed it behind him. At this point i had enough. I ask for the owners phone number. Matthew tells me he is the owner and there is no one other than him to talk to about the situation that has no escalated . So he is a server, a manager, and now the owner.... hmmmm sure! I tell him I'm not buying it. Him and i go back and forth about him giving me the owners phone number. The end result was he gave me some bogus phone number and told me "if we always forget one of your orders just don't come here anymore". This was my first time at Panera Bread and my last. I came through the drive through and saw they have a pick two for 5.88 or something like that. The girl said that it's for half a sandwich and a soup. Ok cool. I ordered the chicken avocado blt and a bowl of Mac and cheese with an apple as my extra. My total came to 11 something... so again I asked how it was 11 and not 5.80, she said that was the price of the sandwich and not a total... sooo I paid and drove off. I didn't get my apple, my sandwich wasn't even enough to fill my TWO year old up and honestly I've had better sandwich from WINCO! Moral of the story... go to ZUPAS. read more

So it's a Sunday, and I of course wake up to wanting Kneaders, who happens to be closed on Sunday's. After hearing everyone's excitement about Panera being opened up in the Nampa location, we decided to give them a try. We kept it simple. We ordered the Turkey, Bacon, avocado, and I requested to change the bread to a croissant. Two adult grilled cheese, one traditional and the other one the big kids version, and two soups, tomato and chicken noodle. Our side options were offered as sliced apple and baguette. We got a whole, unsliced apple and two pieces of baguette. I thought the bread was good. Our total qualified us for two pastries at .99 so we got the pumpkin muffin top and a cinnamon roll. My sandwich was flavorless. The turkey was fresh turkey , not deli meat, which I prefer. The croissant was bland and disappointing. They add mayo to it, but there didn't seem to be enough and the avocado was not ripe, so it was still hard and bland in spots. The grilled cheese was on thick slices of bread (hunk like Texas toast) with not enough cheese. My daughter was not a fan and didn't really eat it. The bacon that came on one of them was chewy. My son got through half of his food but just finished his soup. The soups were just as disappointing. The tomato soup reminded my daughter of spaghetti sauce. She liked it but it wasn't what she expected. It tasted like a canned soup I get. The chicken noodle soup had no noodles. I think it was the last of the soup in their pot because there was mostly broth. Have not had the chance to eat the pastries, but I'm hopeful that they are better than the sandwiches. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there like I do with Kneaders. We live in Middleton, so the drive to Nampa would have been nice, but we would gladly truck it to Meridian to get what I think is better quality. My total was $32 and change. Panera was amazing!!! I found the tiniest piece of paper in my grilled cheese and I have never been treated better! They apologized right away! Then said they would refund the sandwich and make us a new one. They then came over to us ( there were 3 of us) and offered us 3 free pastries! Then the manager came out and apologized and had our money and 2 grilled cheeses even though we only 1 with the original order. First time going. Very disappointed. Ordered grilled cheese and macaroni and cheese for my two girls. The macaroni was good but portion was small even for my 2 year old. Grilled cheese was not good. Just made with cheap American cheese and white bread, nothing special at all. We ordered steak and white cheddar panini. Just bread, cheese, over peppered steak, and a few slices of red onion.
