I wanted to give a positive review for the Monaca Panera. The last year or two it seems like every take out order is wrong, there are no times to place your order available, or the store is just closed at random times on random days. But I will say lately they have stepped it up! I do always customize my order...allergic to cheese, hate lettuce, and love all sauces except mayo...so my order does get mixed up a lot but last week it was perfect! I ordered onion soup with no cheese and extra croutons and 1/2 a chicken chipotle with no cheese or cilantro and sauce on the side...hard I know! Panera Bread is one of my go-to places for lunch, so I've been to quite a few locations by now. I usually order via the app and customize my sandwiches and salads. I did curbside pickup with my most recent order and unfortunately didn't notice that my order wasn't perfect until I got home. I agree with other yelpers, three stars is accurate. Ordered deliver from here though door dash because on the Panera app delivery was $5! Geez Anyway I ordered a breakfast bacon egg and cheese on brioche ($5.29), large hazelnut coffee for $2.59, kids Caesar salad $5.39, and kids grilled cheese with mixed berry yogurt as a side $4.69. My sandwich with bacon egg and cheese on brioche was good. I enjoyed it. Bacon and egg was cooked well and cheese melted. Brioche was light as it should be. The hazelnut coffee arrived hot and tasted great. Not too acidic and great natural hazelnut flavor. I'd order both of these items again. The kids Caesar salad was very small, mostly croutons! Soo not worth $5.39. Some lettuce was wilted and I threw them out. My daughter wouldn't eat it so I did. Barely any lettuce. Definitely not worth the cost. I would never order this again. The mixed berry yogurt came in a squeeze tube. I was a little disappointed in that. I'd prefer the cups of yogurt. My daughter accidentally got it on her dress (she's three). I'm happy it was stonyfield organics. She also wasn't a fan of the grilled cheese. It was mostly bread. She took a few bites and will hopefully eat the rest tomorrow? I wouldn't get it again either for her. Door dash was great with delivery of these items. I do like Panera for their sandwiches and soups. I'd just stick with those next time. read more

Very frustrated with incorrect orders. I ordered via rapid order through the app indicating my sides were apples and my (2) sandwiches were not to have red onions (I have allergies). What I received was one apple (not 2) and red onions on both orders. This is the third time the Monaca location did not provide the correct order and it was too late last night to return. So I order from here a decent bit and one thing I noticed is that if you order from the app it literally is never right. They always forget something and they never update their app so I've unknowingly ordered something out of stock and instead of them telling me when I get there, they just don't give it to me and when I come back to ask for it they're like "we're out". I generally like most Panera Bread locations, however this particular location is experiencing some stress. Their portions sizes are different that other Panera locations. Their bagels and other bakery items are significantly smaller. The building tends to be very cold, even with their fireplace running. We noticed that their was snow on the INSIDE of the building this April 2022. I do not recommend visiting this Monaca PA location. read more

I placed my order and they gave me the vibrating beeper --- and I only spent about 45 seconds looking for a table when the beeper went off !! My tuna sandwich was already waiting for me to get picked up --- this is probably a world record or something. WiFi seemed really fast --- like around 40 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload. Plenty of speed to get all your work done. Only downside is that the music playing on the overhead speakers was a tad bit loud. Wouldnt hurt if they turned it down just a little. Not a good experience today. Sat at a table that wasn't wiped completely. Ordered rapid pickup and it was a few minutes late. Wasn't placed in the pickup area as it should of been. Employee finally saw me standing near the pickup area and asked me if i here for pickup, and then got my completed order bag from under the counter ..??? Remember my Christmastime gift card fiasco? Well it turns out I had one I had forgotten to unload; a $5 Panera bread card. AIEEEEE!!!! Just when I thought they were all gone... Kay and I were both on a brief holiday from work due to the evening's musical festivities and were both rumbling in the stomach at the crack 'o noon, so here we came. Man, what a convoluted ordering system they have. You order up and then get a pager. When it lights up you go to a counter to pick up a tray of food that may or may not be yours. I mean, their sandwiches all look identical, and the Cheese Broccoli soup is almost a dead-ringer for the Baked Potato soup. Cheese Broccoli Soup. Ack! That's what Kay ordered, and no I did not sample it. The possibly canned Baked Potato soup was bereft of all flavor. The Cuban Panini (panino?) had ham, and I think mustard and pickle. I don't know. That bread was like an armadillo's hide, making the scant interiors of the sandwich (one, ONE slice of ham?!?) difficult to savor. The dessert case had more bimbos in it than an episode of Deal Or No Deal; all looks, little flavor. What was in our briefcase, you ask? I couldn't decide, so I walked back to our table with a trio of pastries for us to split; a chocolate-chocolate chip cookie, a brownie brick, and a cherry danish. The cookie was so very Archway and would be the one to make a career at Hooters. The brownie was somewhat better but that lacquered-on strip of frosting indicated that she had a bit of Little Debbie in her. I'm thinking... Stepford Wife? The danish was surprisingly the highlight. The cherries tart, the pastry flaky (but she's only pretending to be flaky, like Jennifer Tilly), the thick custard giving it depth. I could not believe my eyes today. I was sitting in view of the beverages. I observed a tall 20 something worker in an orange polo with purple stripes on his tennis shoes attempt to fix the broken lemonade container. He drained it into another container instead of picking it up and bringing it out back to transfer. When it was empty he stuck his bare hand in the container to inspect the spout. He pulled it out, looked at it, reinstalled it and dumped the lemon aide back in. There's no way this Panera teaches employees about good service safety and cleanliness. Once before I saw a female worker using spray cleaner by the uncovered cookies. Then touched cookies to serve them with out washing her hands. The floor is covered in crumbs, dirt, salt from winter. Under the booths is embarrassing and deplorable. Every night this carpet should be vacuumed with a real vacuum and not a cordless or non electric. I'll admit it..I'm a panera addict, the Sierra turkey sandwich is my favorite but seriously I don't think there's anything on their menu that I've tried that I haven't liked, and trust me there's a lot that ive tried, we have drug reps at work that bring us their food on almost a weekly basis and it's all amazing. This particular location isn't bad but if you go at lunch time you can basically guarantee that you won't get a parking space which is beyond annoying when you don't have a lot of time to waste but the fact that you can order rapid pickup ahead of time and just run in and grab your food kind of makes up for the fact that you have to park in a completely different shopping plaza and walk. Ask me again how I feel about this once it's snowing though lol. The staff is super friendly and even though the lines get crazy sometimes they always try to hurry an you still get great service. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because the parking situation is ridiculous, my pregnant butt really does not like having to walk to an entirely different plaza every time I want lunch. read more

Eating in I found them to be a little overwhelmed and forgetting things and when I had to ask for extra dressing it came with extra attitude but that's to be expected with teenagers. the ice tea at the Monaca Panera store frequently does not taste good. every time I get ice tea at the Cranberry store there is a noticeable difference. it is wonderful. The Cranberry store also has lemon available. I am a Sipper club member and live closer to the Monaca location . Please correct this ongoing problem. Lemon would b nice, too! read more

They seem to specialise in a lot of sour dough. I hate sour dough. But if you find something that isn't sourdough... it's pretty good. My mom loves to come here for a giant cookie now and again... and I sneak a bagel. Which are pretty good. They also have a bit of other foods which I've never tasted. Being a bread fanatic... This review is late but I need to finally put this out here. I ate here the end of May2019. I rarely eat out and Panera was a go to as I always considered it safe. After reading the reviews here, I'm wondering what was I thinking!! My friend and I ate salads and we both immediately became ill. Me more than her. After many trips to the bathroom and hours of extreme pain, my husband took me to the ER. I was admitted after being diagnosed with a bowel blockage. I was in the hospital for 3 days and could not eat solid food. The lab cultures came back a couple of weeks later (these types take a while). I had contracted a food borne illness. The bacteria is called aeronomas sobria. My doc and the nurses in his office were not at all surprised that I ate at Panera that day. Panera refuses to take responsibility. They claim that they did a thorough investigation of the facility. What a joke!! I was sick for almost a month, had to take massive amounts of steroids to reduce the inflammation and a very powerful antibiotic. I am on a campaign to inform others to never eat at this location. I would give zero stars if possible with a stern warning to STAY AWAY!! read more

A routine stop for morning coffee. I do not linger there and I am not a fan of the foods that are lesser versions of what one can find elsewhere. Service is fine; store well kept; very convenient. Excellent place for a quick business meeting over coffee. Often too too loud however; odd layout and only a few spaces are helpful for private meetings. Cozy spot to grab some food. The atmosphere is nice and laid back. The fireplace in there is a great addition to the building. Seems like a good spot for people to study. I noticed several students enjoying their sandwiches while reading or working on projects. It was nice to share a meal with my friend and actually hear what she was saying. Even with a good amount of people it's usually relatively quiet in there. Mediterranean veggie will always be my favorite. I recommend it. The cinnamon crunch bagel is amazing as well. read more

I placed an order online today and requested the rapid pick-up option. My wife went to pick up the order , sitting in the vehicle for an extra 15 minutes. She ended up going inside looking for our order, which was not in the pickup area. My wife saw our order on the counter behind the register and when she asked the cashier if that was our order , was met with a snotty attitude reply. This business is run by an incompetent manager who verbally abuses her employees & encourages cleaning measures that are not in coordination with company policy (ex. using bleach to clean down areas that come in contact with food). The management does not fairly compensate loyal & hardworking employees. They have the means to increase wages for those who have worked for months, or even a year, and choose to neglect those employees in favor of paying new employees more for less work. Tables and silverware are frequently dirty and the dining staff is rude and extremely unhelpful. -10/10. read more
