I typically love Panera and I often have it delivered for a "healthy" alternative when I have evening plans. Lately- it's not been the best. I ordered from the East Cobb location using their app this week for a dinner delivery. They were out of many menu items before I even clicked submit. We had to make several changes to the order to find items that suited all of our dinner desires. About 20 mins after submitting my order, the door dash driver calls me. He told me that the restaurant was out of one of the items we had ordered (even though we had already done the juggling on the app). Since this isn't in any way his fault AND he was trying to help, I asked if there was another item I could substitute (for the missing item). I heard him relay exactly what I asked and heard the store employee respond that he/she would check with a manager. About 2 mins later, the employee came back and told me that they had just canceled my order. That wasn't even close to what I asked for. And, the store wouldn't even entertain trying to correct the error. I asked for a phone call from the manager - and still haven't received it. I also submitted a request for help on the Panera app and haven't received any acknowledgment of my request. This really threw a wrench In Our dinner plans and I had to scramble to make another order - with a completely different restaurant on short notice. Panera - please do better. There are many alternatives and I would hate to lose this one because of bad service. read more

This is the worst Panera location by far! I ordered a catering order for my crewnto he delivered, and they "missed it". I called and had them make it anyway, but they wouldn't provide the delivery service even though I already paid for it. So I ended up having to leave work and go pick it up myself, and it ended up being TWO HOURS LATE! While I was in the store I watched about 8 people walk in and walk out because they didn't have any bagels made! And it's only 9am! I would NOT come here every again. There is another Panera close by, so drive right by this one and go to the next one! And to top it all off, their service is horrible. Ordered a dozen bagels sliced, after 20 minutes of waiting and seeing several orders after us leave, I asked for an update - had to ask twice more, before the disrespectful manager (I think) threw them is a bag with no apology or acknowledgment at all. Let's start this review by saying that I'm a huge Panera fan and have been visiting this location and using the app for a while. Unfortunately this location has gone downhill recently. Every time I order on the app, my food arrives late. My bakery items are never included at the pick up window and when I ask about them, I'm told to go over to the bakery section and ask for it. Last time we ordered the app said my cookie was in stock but it was not. Additionally, the kids meal (close to $7) was just a ice cream scoop of macaroni cheese and yogurt. I can get a lot more for that price at any other restaurant. I will be limiting my visits here and might even delete the app because our closest location is such a disappointment. For a location that costs nearly $50 for a family of 4, I believe there are better options in the area. read more

Got breakfast delivered through Doordash. Sandwiches were wrapped up individually nice and tight. They were still hot! Yummy as usual. I always get the bacon , egg and cheese on brioche bun. Their bacon is so good. Nice and thick. The melted white cheddar is so good. They no longer offer any egg styles, but scrambled. That's OK though, as they were hit or miss on the over easy! I had time to kill one afternoon while in the area, as well as a gift card, so it seemed a wonderful way to kill the lunch hour. I love Panera, so this isn't a commentary on their food, not really anyway. They have the tables marked off so you can be a responsible social distance-r while in the restaurant. I noticed that not everyone followed the stickers on the tables and no one really called them out on it, so that just is what it is. When I ordered, they didn't have an chocolate chipper cookies (my fave), but the guy convinced me to try a kitchen sink cookie that also has chocolate in it. I said I would only if it was soft. He tested it for me and wasn't too impressed by it himself, so he threw it in the microwave to soften it up for me. It's a cheap trick but it does make your baked goods taste better for longer, so that was nice of him. I didn't feel like the place was too clean. Perhaps because of the lunch "rush" or whatever, but it wasn't great. I did find a table that was clean but there were many more that weren't wiped up. It just gave an otherwise beautiful location a dingy feeling, which is not something we're used to anymore, at least not during the pandemic. read more

I tried one more time to give Panera a chance and they just can't even...The staff forgot my order and seemed inconvenienced and dismissive when I reminded them three times about my to go order over the course of 20 minutes. This is a nice Panera bread and classier than most! Super neat inside with fireplace and wood support columns. I had the potato soup which is better than it sounds. Quick ordering at the counter and fast service considering the place was busy. A few downsides. No kiosk. And very few electrical outlets. Neither was a problem for me. Located in high end shopping area, so you can do other shopping here. Definitely worth a stop for healthy food. read more

But when you consistently get poor service and poor quality from the same restaurant, after giving them the benefit of the doubt, I feel to share. After waiting almost 2 hours which was due to the restaurants delay after ordering on Uber eats, I get a cold Bacon Avocado melt sandwich, with almost no cheese, avocado, and less than half normal portion of bacon when I paid for double bacon. When I have attempted to go into the store in the past, they upfront tell you it's gonna take 30 minutes to make a sandwich. The inventory is lacking and the pastries are often stale. This spot was so bad that I don't even know where to start. My order was wrong, and when I asked for the manager, some lady named Tara came out and was extremely rude. This service is unacceptable, and managers like Tara should be held to a higher standard. Multiple other workers were rude as well, one of which was named Braden, who mispronounced my name so badly that I didn't even know it was me. My wife and I went to the Avenue at East Cobb for dinner last night March 30, 2019) and visited Panera Bread and Smallcakes. I had complaints about both stores. This review is about Panera only. (My complaint about Smallcakes is at their Yelp page.) At Panera I was troubled by 2 issues unrelated to the food we ordered (I guess I should note that I'm a senior (76) and get easily annoyed at minor slights). Issue 1 - NO SWEET ROLL FOR A DOLLAR WHEN ORDERING A MEAL. While waiting in line, I noticed that the longtime standard offer of a sweet roll for $1.00 when buying a meal had been reduced to a lousy cookie. This is no longer much of an offer since a dollar per cookie is nothing to write home about. I had actually been looking forward to getting a cinnamon bun or cherry Danish for that dollar charge, but that was no longer possible. Anyway, a young order taker (who may have been in training) took our order. I ordered a bowl of Bistro Onion Soup (which is always great) and a drink and my wife ordered a 1/2 Cuban Sandwich and 1/2 Fuji Apple Salad along with a drink. Issue 2 - FAILURE TO LIVE UP TO CLEARLY PRINTED POLICY ON PANERA RECEIPT. The problem arose when the employee advised my wife that one of the standard items that come on the sandwich (pulled pork) was not available but that a substitute meat could be added at no additional charge. My wife chose turkey. We paid for the meals and while waiting for our food, I noticed on the receipt that we had been charged $.99 for the turkey substitute. So I spoke to the manager on duty and he offered us a free cookie or my money back. We weren't interested in just a free cookie so he refunded the dollar back to me. THEN, after sitting down to eat, I looked at the receipt and it had the following language at the very top: "YOUR ORDER SHOULD BE CORRECT EVERY TIME. IF IT'S NOT, WE'LL FIX IT RIGHT AWAY, AND GIVE YOU A FREE TREAT FOR YOUR TROUBLE. JUST LET MY ASSOCIATE KNOW". So, I ask is the MANAGER of the store unaware of the standard language on his store's receipt form? It is noted here that the free treat could arguably be something better than a cookie! However no such offer was made and my wife doesn't like me to complain. SO, I'm complaining now. read more

I get labor is hard to find but the manager here just needs to be fired. Staff is plain old confused. You really can't even afford to keep this place open with this mess. Just ordered their mozzarella melt sandwich. It's one of their most expensive menus items at $10. What I got was a dried out baguette with a lot of cheese, about six paper thin slices of cheap pepperoni, and a couple of tablespoons of canned tomato sauce. It didn't taste like anything. And their prices have done about 30% since Covid. Sandwich's and soup no longer come this a choice of chips or an apple. Instead chips are extra. This is by far the WORST Panera I have ever been to is no where near the level of service from every other neighboring Panera, AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS! The store is always dirty, and not stocked and the service is incredibly slow. The problem goes beyond being chronically understaffed as staff always seems incredible disinterested, rude, disorganized and sluggish. Orders are frequently wrong, once I had a salad that didn't have any lettuce...?? The process for placing an order and picking up mobile orders seems to change everyone you visit. These issues are not one-off but consistently horrible, I work in the center and the experience is always terrible and unreliable, week after week. I had a terrible catering experience today with this store location. First, the order was delivered at 9:20 when it was supposed to be there at 8:45-9:00. At 9:05 when I called to check the status, I was told it just left the store. When the order arrived, it was packaged in multiple different types of packaging, and also mislabeled. The order was for 17 Egg&Cheese sandwiches, and 17 Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sandwiches. I was called the day before to say they did not have enough Sausage and would be subbing bacon. This I was fine with. Unfortunately, when I took the order out of the bag 11 were in individual boxes labeled bacon egg and cheese. 2 of those had sandwiches inside that were in smaller boxes, the rest were in wrappers. Some of the wrappers had "sausage" written on them, even though the box was labeled bacon egg and cheese. There were 2 large cardboard crates holding more sandwiches. One of these crates had 17 egg and cheese sandwiches inside, wrapped in paper. The other crate had 6 sandwiches wrapped in paper that were not labeled at all. Because the order was late I was unable to determine what was what, or to display it any better than it was delivered. An embarrassing situation when you are sponsoring breakfast for a client! Keep in mind my company has spent $9200 in catering at Panera in the last 18 months. When I call to share with the manager and request a refund or credit, I am told by the store general manager, Jessica Brooks, that all they will offer is a discount on a future order. I explained that with her not being willing to make this order right, or offer a credit/refund, I have no reason to trust them with my catering order in the future. She said she is the top of the food chain at this location and if I want to take it above her, I should google the 1-800 number for Panera. This is not the first bad experience we have had here, but it will most definitely be the last. read more

Came in yesterday night because it was really dreary weather & wanted some delicious comfort food to go! The young lady Lourdes who rang me up was very friendly & suggested the white cheddar & steak panini over my usual chicken frontega panini, it was delicious! I ALWAYS get their French onion soup, ya just can't resist it! If you feel like bending the rules you can always add a bread bowls, because.... why not?!? I love how they have a ton of different flavored teas & lemonade options! I love them all. The only thing I wish they weren't so slack on is the cheese in their French Onion I always have to add more when I get home because it seems nonexistent sometimes. I waited for a number of orders before writing this review, but don't think it is worth waiting to see an improvement, as clearly it is not going to improve on its own. Every single time you order something from this Panera location for pickup there is something missing. Either an entire item or something from an item. Over my last 3 orders they have missed a bagel (only bagel in a breakfast order so not a miscount), cookie with a lunch order and today chicken added to a Greek salad AND all tomatoes from the salad. This has now become enough that I will no longer visit this location and I am less likely to visit a Panera if a competitor is available. read more

This place is super busy which must be why they make it so uncomfortable, so you won't stay long. There aren't many booths and the chair backs only have bars across the top, making them very uncomfortable! Also, most of the tables are so small you can barely fit plate and beverage for 2 people. I'm glad they warmed up the atmosphere from the cold warehouse look they had before but this isn't a whole lot better. I'm unlikely to return to this location and since I don't want to go far I'll probably just go back to Starbucks. read more

This place was a nightmare. I took a client to lunch here and it was filthy; trash on the floor and the garbage bin was overflowing (and NOT busy). I was served orange juice that had soured (the bottle was literally bloated from the gasses) and when I returned the bottle to the cashier, Samruddhi hesitated to replace it until I asked her to taste it! Located in the middle island of the East Cobb Avenue this Panera can get quite busy. This is a huge panera and very open inside with lots of outdoor seating as well. Yes Panera is a chain but it's a good go to when you're craving breakfast (mmm Asiago bagels) or a quick lunch soup/salad/sandwich combo! If you are planning on getting your meal to go- try their Rapid Pick-up online or via their app. Today, I ordered online before I left work and my order was ready when I got there! I walked in and noticed the Rapid Pick-up shelf on the right and 2 empty cups to be filled. Filled those up and left!
