Himalayan Kitchen delivered a meal that was both comforting and full of flavor. We tried a variety of dishes, and each one stood out in its own way: * Momo Butter Curry (Beef & Chicken Dumplings): Rich, savory, and perfectly spiced. The dumplings soaked up the butter curry sauce beautifully, making every bite indulgent. * Fried Dumplings: Crispy on the outside, tender inside--an excellent contrast to the saucy momos. * Soup (Thukpa with Veggies & Chicken): This was the star of the night. Warm, hearty, and nourishing, it felt like the kind of soup that could cure any ailment. * Beef Fried Rice: Comfort food at its finest--fluffy rice, well-seasoned beef, and balanced flavors that tied the meal together. Beyond the food, the whole vibe was distinctly Tibetan. Multicolored prayer papers draped across the ceiling created a festive, spiritual atmosphere, while prayer wheels lined the walls with scrolls of prayers tucked inside. The décor added a sense of authenticity and calm, making the dining experience feel immersive and memorable. Our host was very quick to the point and friendly helping us with our selections. A fantastic dining experience. If you're craving dumplings, soul-soothing soup, or flavorful rice in a setting that transports you to the Himalayas, Himalayan Kitchen is a must-visit.
Himalayan Kitchen was a hidden gem and I'm really glad I made the visit. The inside has some cool traditional interior and the service was quick. The food was definitely the best part. We had the steam and butter curry Momo, I would definitely recommend the butter curry, and really enjoyed those and set the bar high. Both of the mains I had were even better though. The beef shabakley was super flavorful and delicious and the same can be said for the French fry chilli. I really enjoyed the experience and expect to be back!
Kelly is amazing. This place is a hidden gem. The dumplings are all delicious and the fried patties are to die for.
Located south of Marietta on Roswell St you wi find this small restaurant where you can go get some tasty momos and spicy soup called Thukpa that can warm you up in a cold night as it did for it. It's fairly a small homely restaurant where they serve some delicious varieties of momos and Himalayan/Tibetian style spicy soup and entrees. Everything we ordered was of great taste Go give this a try u won't regret it
I've been reading about the butter chicken momo and decided I had to try them. They didn't disappoint! The restaurant is small and the menu is rather limited but the momo are really good. My husband had the chicken chili. It is nice with onions and bell peppers. It was served with rice. My brother had the spicy Tibetan momo. They are very good and not too spicy. Just right. Our server was great.
Our first time trying Himalayan Kitchen, definitely not last. Fantastic food, very cozy place. One of those spots that warm the soul and fill your belly with wonderful food. Such a wholesome experience!
i've been wanting to try this place for awhile. definitely lived up to the hype online. delicious momos (dumplings) and veg options for the non meat eaters. we ordered the fried beef momos, veggie and potato momos & veggie fried rice. wish we could've eaten hot and fresh there but still so good. service was helpful and quick. ordered ahead of time and ready in like 10 mins. me and my niece both loved the authenticity of the space inside. the decor felt like we were transported overseas. i'd go back and eat inside.
Oh yeah. The food is good. We went during the day so it was completely empty which thank goodness because we were starving and all of their food is made to order. We got the butter curry chicken momos, fried beef momos, chili chicken (comes with white rice), beef fried rice, and the vegetable flat noodle soup. It was all sooo good. It's not heavy on the salt which allows you to eat the entire dish without getting tired of it or oversalted. The momos are delicate, the chili chicken is tender, the fried rice has the nice smokiness from being wok fried, and the soup is so light and the noodles are pillowy dumplings. Will def be back.
Amazing service and ambience! Food will melt your heart. It does take a while to prepare but honestly worth every bite. Savory and spices are perfectly balanced!
Tried the butter chicken momo and the tibetan spicy momos both were very tasty loved! Food was hot, fresh, and spicy. The restaurant was clean and felt cozy I would recommend for Momos
The sheer ecstasy I felt when first biting into the Tibetan spicy momo with potato filling is something I wish for every person who is considering visiting Himalayan Kitchen. This establishment truly lives up to their name of BEST DUMPLINGS IN ATL!! Not only is the food fresh and oh so very flavorful, but it is also ready in a very timely manner. The inside of the restaurant was beautifully decorated and very clean. The service?? Quick and efficient! Will DEF be back. (Side note: do urself a favor and grab a mango lassi, literallyyy so tasty so delicious you won't regret it) .
This place is a MUST GO! There is ample street parking outside that is free. The place is quite big with lots of tables but coming here on a weeknight this place was FULL. This is a mom and pop place so keep that in mind as I've only ever saw the two owners cooking, taking orders, and bussing tables. However, there is GREAT QUICK NICE service always! She is always so cheerful, answers questions, and refills your waters attentively. The food comes out fairly quickly as well. We've gotten the butter curry momos and tibeten spicy momos. Pro strategy is get half chicken and half beef. Last time we were there they sold out of beef! Momos are a MUST here and you won't leave unhappy. We also grabbed some chicken chow mein and it was amazing. Definitely a place I love and will continue going back!
Two people born in Tibet, who spent years in Tibetan communities in India, brought the food they grew up with to Metro Atlanta, and survived opening a restaurant just before a global pandemic. It seems like many Atlanta locals are confused about the cuisine differences between Tibet and Nepal, since both have their own versions of momos and thukpa. Tibetan food mostly focuses on warming and nourishing the body, rather than bold spices. While this restaurant doesn't have many of the barley, yak, and mutton based dishes that you would find in Tibet, the beef, veg, and chicken options are still hearty and handmade. While the momos here are wonderfully handmade, the flavors are not as bold as Nepali momos that many compare them to. And, that's okay because they are not meant to be bold. So before criticizing, you may want to check your facts. My favorite momo here are the leaf shape dumplings that even the most skilled dumpling makers have trouble folding. So they are difficult to find, yet shine here on the menu, hidden inside a momo soup dish. The dining room functions as a cultural gateway, thoughtfully decorated with traditional Tibetan prayer flags, mountain landscapes pictures, and sacred symbolic decor. read more
We were quickly greeted and sat to a table. We ordered our drinks and asked for some recommendations. We loved the butter curry momo's. I also had the beef chow mein. If you want a good meal at a good price, check this spot out. read more
We were in the mood for momos and all the reviews had recommended this place so we decided to check it out. We got the steamed veggie dumplings, the fried chicken dumplings and the sweet and sour tofu with white rice. the best dish was the tofu as the sauce was very good so it made for a flavorful dish. portion size for each entree was good but the dumplings were a bit of a disappointment. they were not bad but i have had better elsewhere nice atmosphere, quick service but average food read more

I've been wanting to go to this place for so long and am so glad I finally got the chance to go! I thought they had closed down permanently and was so sad but was excited to see they were only closed temporarily. Their Tibetan Spicy Momo was DELICIOUS. The skin of the momos were so chewy and slippery, which sounds weird but trust me, it was amazing. The sauce was also really good. It came with 8 momos and we were able to get half chicken and half beef. I got the beef thukpa, which was really good, I liked the noodles a lot, but I thought the broth was a little bland. It could've used more spices and salt. Our server was great. She was really nice and funny and super efficient. Great ambiance as well. I will definitely be coming here again for their moms! read more

Wow. Legit, authentic, Asian food that's NOT on Buford Hwy !! Here is a unique alternative to Chinese or Indian. It is somewhere inbetween. One of the staples seem to be a wheat based noodle in a few forms. As long "spaghetti", as short, flat noodles (what we call dumplings in the South USA) and as a wrapper for veggie, beef, or chicken meatballs. These are similar to what Asians call dumplings. Pinched pasta based pillows filled, then steamed. I tried the short pasta dry (not soup) with chicken and veg. Very much like an Asian version of our southern chicken n dumplings. I also tried thier filled pasta with spicy sauce which was like a sweet spaghetti sauce with a kick. Medium spicy to me. The beef version were smoky flavored, the chicken were not. Very UNIQUE dishes. It actually does have its own thing going on, which I found valuable for the times you want something different and pleasing. Next time ill try the long noodles, perhaps in broth. Huge potential here to dial in EXACTLY what ill come here for. Ill probably not have the short non soup noodles, as, just l8ke southern dumplings, they are chunks of dense dough and like little gut bombs. Very filling. Enough to share for sure. Think Gnocchi level density. I've got a suspicion the long noodle soup is the thing here. By the way, all the noodles are made on premises BY HAND. So this is a totally legit, Buford Hwy experience right here in Smyrna ! read more

I got the butter curry momo with chicken and the spicy dumplings with beef. The butter curry ones were great flavor, I actually would like to try it with another meat as well. The spicy ones were amazing too but they were soooo spicy. I love spice and my lips were tingling a few minutes afterwards. I probably will ask for the sauce on the side next time, but they were great! Just ordered to go, so I can't speak to their service other than the woman at the front seemed a bit short but I don't care for a lot of convo during take out anyway read more

have been wanting to try this joint for a while since moving to smyrna. Kelly was so helpful in explaining the menu and giving us suggestions for what to order!! we ordered the butter curry momo, the beef thenthuk (which we got "dry" because it's summer and so hot!!) and chicken fried rice. everything was amazing, but the momo was to die for! the blending of indian flavors with the asian dumplings was incredible. the thenthuk was the perfect amount of spiciness, and the hand pulled noodles are SO delicious. the fried rice was a generous portion and had great flavor. we also enjoyed a mango lassi while waiting for our food to go, and i could drink 12 of them the dining area is very colorful and has traditional decor all over! we cannot wait to eat here again read more

If you're a passionate lover of Tibetan cuisine, you can't get enough of momos! We indulged in a delicious spread, starting with steaming hot chicken momos and crispy fried momos that were simply irresistible--I could eat them forever! To elevate the experience, we also ordered savory chicken and vegetable chow mein, along with flavorful chicken fried rice. Each dish boasted a unique wok-tossed taste that was just divine. It was an unforgettable feast! read more

My first time trying momo at Himalayan Kitchen! Why am I only just now discovering this little gem in Smyrna? I came in and walked up to the counter and ordered a steamed beef momo to go. Service was prompt and the ambiance was quaint. I love seeing the Tibetan art on the walls. The momo. I order to go. The momo didn't make it home. We devoured it on the way home after a small taste. It was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The little side sauce packed a lot of spicy flavor. It was hot but not unbearably hot. Definitely recommend seeking out this little gem for dine in or takeout. It's no frills and all about the food and love that goes into making it. The restaurant is located in the Five Points Shopping Center off a roundabout. There's a few small shops here and there's lots of parking. read more
Visited this establishment for lunch since I had heard so many good things. I was NOT disappointed! The food is incredible! Very seldom do you taste homemade essence and love in restaurant food but Himalayan Kitchen pours so much flavor and authenticity into their dishes. We ordered the butter curry momos, veggie noodle soup, and beef fried rice. The dumplings were decadent and filling! The noodles were also spectacularly chewy and juicy. All of our food was served hot and fresh, really nice since the weather has been so cold. Portion sizes are not skimpy either! Service is beyond exceptional; our waitress was on top of making sure we had all we needed at the table and even gave us updates on how close our food was to being done. The restaurant itself is a canvas of Tibetan culture and lively decorum. The dining area and bathroom were very clean! Loved this place and will be back! read more
I genuinely stumbled upon this place and decided to post about it on my food instagram. It blew up, and so has their business! I encourage everyone to be patient with the small staff of two as they iron out the increased demand. If you are kind & don't mind waiting, you will NOT be disappointed. Their Momos are worth every second of anticipation read more

The food was WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!! Parking was easy and they had tvs to hep with the wait. Will be returning soon! read more

I have never eaten himalayan food. any recommendations for a newbie?
The momos are all delicious and a great place to start. Also the chicken fried rice is absolutely fabulous!!
How's the parking situation ? Saw bunch o construction out front
Parking is fine. The construction is on the roundabout being built just to the west of their parking lot. Make sure you route yourself to come in from the East on Roswell Street. Windy Hill to Roswell Street would probably be the easiest way.
