This Panera is gross. The floor is perpetually covered in trash and food scraps. The tables and seats are covered in food residue. Every time I come here it looks like the staff forgot that they have to clean the place. Strongly encourage taking your food to go. read more

I've been to more than a few Panera Bread places in my day and this one ranks right up there with the best. It's clean. The staff is friendly. The lines move quickly. Best of all, they give you one of those buzzer things and instead of having to go to pick up your food, they come and deliver the food to your table. I loved it. It's in the new Laurel shopping plaza that has the Harris Teeter and a bunch of other cool places. I cam by because I knew what I could expect from a Panera Bread. What I didn't expect is how pleasant the experience your be. It's tons better than the one I usually go to over on MLK Ave. in Bowie/Glenn Dale. Tons better. They also have a drive through take out window which I've never seen at a Panera before but I think is a cool idea. That seemed to be moving and probably helps a ton with the congestion inside the restaurant. read more

Honestly the most ignorant, incompetent and unprofessional group of people I have ever encountered. On a good day you will just get snarky attitude from these miserable people, but it's generally coupled with ineptitude and inefficiency as well. I've never gotten a correct order at this location. Not once! Today I ordered about 3 different times over the drive thru intercom and then once when I got to the window. When I was asked to repeat my order for the 5th time and heard a worker through the window say my order wasn't made properly, I had to drive off or I would have acted a total fool with these people. I love Panera Bread in general! However, this location is by farrrrr the slowest one in Maryland! For a rapid order it takes 15min. Also, they do not place the order inside the pickup shelf. So your order could ready but it's placed on top of the counter, so once you're there to pick it up you're under the impression it's not ready yet. I hope the hire more staff because this is a high traffic location. read more

I spend a lot of time here. Like really too much time. Lately, this location has gone downhill from the other paneras I frequent. Wifi never works, the employees aren't as friendly as they used to be, got into a flat out argument with one the other day because she refused to sell me what I wanted (weird? Not good for the bottom line). Same thing happened the next day with a different employee... But if I order from my app, I can get what I want... Overall, the food is consistent; the service is not. I've been going to a few various locations, including this one, for a number of years. This location is always fully stocked with everything needed at the coffee bar and throughout the restaurant. The staff, including the cashiers and clean-up folks, are efficient, personable, and helpful. Joe, the manager, has a great sense of humor and pays lots of attention to the condition of the store, making sure that all is in good order. Visiting a Panera is a wonderful way to start the day with coffee, a pastry, and conversation. read more

So we always go to the Manassas location in VA but stopped here since we were hungry and in the area. So my husband orders a large mac and cheese bowl with a bread bowl on the SIDE emphasis on SIDE because he even did a hand gesture when he said the word, I ordered half and half from Jenniffer. The food is great as always. Only problem is that when my husband got his order the mac and cheese was inside the bread bowl and only halfway filled. We immediately told the server sorry but that's not what we ordered and very politely she said she was gonna fix it. Five minutes later she comes back to tell us the other half of the mac and cheese will be out soon and of course we told her that's not how he wants it thats why he was specific with the orde to begin with. So we tell her it's ok we can go elsewhere we want a refund, so she went to get the manager. When the manager comes she said "can I help you" in a tone like she was being bothered. So we explained the situation but instead of fixing it she decided to argue with us and then she said "ok I'll fix it but it's still going to be the same thing" while she was taking the tray with a the biggest attitude. The only reason we stayed there to eat was because we were very hungry if it wasn't for that we would have just walked out and talk to the district manager and get our money back. And of course I will never come back to this location I will still go to the location in Manassas because the food is always great and the service is amazing in that store I will rather drive all the way back to Manassas just to eat there instead of coming here and get argued with on something they should have gotten right in the first place. And let me quote your receipt "accuracy matters. If your order is not right, please let a manager know." This we didn't know until I read the receipt but with that type of manager I wouldn't want to talk to her I rather talk to her nice associates, because even though we explained the situation she didn't care at all. This is not how a manager handles this type of situation especially since we weren't being rude we just wanted the correct order. This place is horrible! I have eaten from here on several occasions and to say it's been disappointing is an understatement. I ordered the onion soup, it tasted good but had no cheese and no croutons like it was supposed to. I ordered a tuna fish sandwich and they didn't even put it in the bag! Thank goodness I checked before I left the store. But, the one that takes the cake is the BLT I ordered, not a menu item but simple enough for any sandwich place, right? Wrong! They put one slice of bacon in each side of the sandwich and to top it off, charged us $8.50 for the sandwich. The mangers response was to order something cheaper on the menu. I love Panera. But every time I come to this location it is filthy. The booths are always dirty, crumbs and liquid all over the table, and none of the staff bother to clean it. Sticky tables, sticky floors. No soap in the bathroom. The whole place kind of smells. The food is made carelessly, smaller meat/fillings to bread ratio than other locations, sandwiches falling apart, wilted salads. Forget the little touches that make Panera so nice, like warm toasted croutons on your soup. Half the time they ignore any customizations and if you ask about it they get an attitude and start talking about "that's not how the sandwich comes." So disappointing. read more

I love this Panera location because it is very close to home and the staff is usually very friendly. I never have to wait to long for my order to be made. I am greeted by name which makes my experience feel a lot more personal. I want to thank Jose for awesome service, always happy to see me and since I'm a regular he took the time to learn my order, he knows exactly what I want! I love it! Another employee I should mention, her name is Diamond she works in the kitchen and when I say she is fast! Wow and never in a bad mood!! Poor quality personnel, do not pay attn, some have a serious attitude problem. Have been short changed on orders, given wrong item...need courteous people in drive thru. The kitchen is slower than molasses. I'm writing this as I've been waiting almost a half hour for my food. The kitchen staff said "there are people ahead of you" The GMU campus Panera handles probably 5 times the traffic here and you never wait more than 5 minutes for your food tops. So with everything going on right now, you'd think safety was the number one priority....not at this Panera. Went in to grab a quick breakfast last week and there was an employee with red braids touching food with no gloves! This Panera is definitely hit or miss with the staff. They're either really friendly and efficient or making sure you know they regret coming to work. Either way, try another Panera. Service here is not the greatest on any day! read more

Was in drive-thru for 20 minutes drove up to window to pay sat there for 7 min before even anyone came to get my card and after had to wait even longer again to bet my food. I was very happy when they opened the Panera as it's close to my office. Since it's located in a pretty new and busy Towne Center, parking can be a bit of a challenge but that's when the fast and efficient drive-thru comes in handy. I absolutely love the trackers they have at this location. At locations without this system I often feel as though I am at a food auction while I hover around the counter with other customers waiting for my number to be called. This is a chain so the food options are the same as every other Panera, but it's always fresh and delicious. The employees are always friendly and attentive. The managers are visible and don't hesitate to jump in where needed. I've never had a problem with my order whether I ordered via the app, went into the store and ordered or went through the drive-thru. read more

I was SOoo happy when this Panera opened up because it is near home and IT HAS A DRIVE THRU!! But... PROS Drive thru is pretty fast on most days, although you have to really go SLOW with the order because of competing noise from the traffic...I have gotten my order WRONG 4x but always drive off and do not say anything BECAUSE IT IS A HASSLE to try to remedy the wrong order. I have put this opinion in the PROS because I will give them time to settle in and find great employees who get it right the first time.*** I will update at their 1 year anniversary in August 2015. CONS PARKING MEGA SUCKS--absolutely ridiculous. Most employees are a DUD and not hygienic in my opinion! Trying to find a table/space to eat after spending $40 IS NOT POSSIBLE! because everyone is taking up space with their coffee and laptop and could care less that you have your food and need to be seated. So fair warning=====be prepared to return to the check out and get bags to go and be upset/frustrated. The outside space has all of the exhaust coming at you from the east because there is NO CONCRETE BARRIER, TREE nor SHRUB blocking the pollution and noise (busy Rte. 1/Baltimore Ave.)and all of the full hot sun from the south will roast you indoors and outdoors so it is NOT PLEASANT. Curious that they do not have shades to block the sun all along the side of their restaurant like other Panera's. The workers are clueless They need to figure out the logistics FAST or they will lose customers FAST. I think we all know what to expect when we come to a Panera. Somehow this Panera ranks wayyyyyy below the rest. I've ordered pick up twice, and luckily the first time I checked my order before leaving because only a quarter of my order was rightfully in the pick up bag. The other time I ordered a sandwich with chips and I received a sandwich + apple. How do you confuse an apple from a bag of chips? Sadly, I was already back at my office and couldn't swap. Maybe I'll order an apple next time and I'll get chips. Just beware. Panera is typically a safe option. But not here. read more

Was greeted with "what can I get you" and the cashier immediately looked away so I waited to be sure she was paying attention to what I was going to say and when she (finally) looked back, she gave a look like "well?" So I ordered, whatever, not the worst thing in the world. Then I tried to use my panera rewards card on my phone by holding it near the 'scanner' which never worked but she didn't seem to know whether or not such a scanner even existed. Went to get our drinks and the whole counter was sticky, only one lid remaining for our two drinks and it was sticky too. Then we got our food, on the wrong bread & smaller than average portions. Soon after we started eating, an employee sat down at the table two down from us and was eating food from another restaurant (still in her apron, that's not sanitary) and spoke loudly on speakerphone the whole time about some drama filled topic. I like their food. But, they cannot seem to get a simple change of dressing done for a salad order. One of my co-workers likes the cobb salad but not the green goddess dressing. We ask to sub the Greek for it each time. They keep giving us the Green Goddess Dressing. When I called, I got a very --well you can drive all the way back here and we will remake the salad -- but the manager, Tania, didn't sound like she even cared. By the way, I called and it rang and rang and finally clicked off then I had to call back. The food is not cheap, to have a $9.00 salad that you cannot eat because you detest the dressing is not a good thing. While the food is tasty, the staff needs to provide customer care. read more

I am a regular customer at the drive thru at this Panera Bread location. I placed my order, tuna sandwich and tomato soup with a baguette, I usually receiving croutons with my tomato soup but this time they were not included so I went inside. I was greeted by Tiffany and i told her what was missing from my order. Tiffany had a great attitude; great customer service just all around nice polite young lady. I also noticed that my my tuna sandwich was very messy and Tiffany proceeded to explain it was due to the bread that was used to make the sandwich so she proceeded to make another sandwich for me with a tip different type of bread.
