The first time I ordered online for pick up the service was amazing. They had my food ready 4 mins early. The next time I went the service was horrible. I ordered a tomato soup bread bowl with a grilled cheese and a sweet tea. They forgot the bread bowl and my tea. They insisted that I didn't order a bread bowl even though I had my order on my phone. I am Berber going back. I will just go to McAlester's for now on. They have good service and they always get my order right. They are a little cheaper too. read more

This was probably the most annoying experience at a Panera. I went through the drive through and ordered my usual order only to get home and see that what I had ordered was not in my bag. I live like 15-20 mins away and I had to go back because they couldn't get my order right. I get there to them only switching out the salad to my sandwich. I work all over the country - and use yelp all the time, but never write reviews. Since the reviews on this panera weren't so great, I didn't have high hopes. I was the A**hole that zipped in through the driveway 9 minutes before they closed. An automated voice said, "we're closed." Irritated, I started to drive away when I heard a woman say "we're still open." She could have let me drive off, but she didn't, so I proceeded to order a salad. In all my years of eating at Panera, this was the freshest salad I have had. The cashier was very courteous, even though I could see that they had already put everything up. I can't speak to the bagels, but the service and food were excellent. I will be back as I'm in Killeen for another three months. read more

I have eaten at multiple Panera Breads before and have always had an excellent experience. If I could give this one 0 stars I would. I have been sitting here for 30 minutes waiting for a latte and bagel to go. Yes a latte and bagel to go and it took 30 minutes. I know it's new and all but that is ridiculous. And then I asked for a knife for my cream cheese and it took another 5 minutes because nobody knew where they were. There were people walking out because their stuff was taking so long. And I saw multiple orders being brought back while I was waiting because the orders were wrong. Very inefficient management and workers. I would have gotten a refund and left if I didn't think that would have taken as long as my order was. read more

I understand they are all new so I tried to give them a break....but if they make a mistake every time it's kinda hard to forgive...this past time they actually forgot a to put a sandwich in the bag! Yesterday, was my first time stepping in the restaurant since it opened. My friend and I were standing in line and wasn't even helped til we said something. We ordered the pumpkin latte and it wasn't even HOT!! It tasted like breast milk. Manager was sitting at the table with a employee talking, other employees standing around laughing and talking. By the time we got a complaint in, one worker told us it's normal for the coffee be Luke warm. If we wanted heated, she can heated in the microwave. REALLY?? I placed a catering order online for my promotion reception and couldn't have been happier. Everyone was happy with the spread of pastries, bagels, coffee and OJ. Joanna called me after I placed the order on the website to confirm everything. My only regret was not taking them up on the offer to deliver everything onto post for me so I wouldn't have spent the time going to the restaurant that morning. While I was picking up the food, I did notice the slow-moving line waiting to get up to the counter, but no one was using the kiosk ordering terminals that could have sped up the process. read more

I LOVE Panera and I was super stoked when they built one in Killeen. Food takes a while , I can't understand why... It's soups, sandwiches, and salads. They are ALWAYS out of stuff! Whether it's menu items, teas, cups, there's always something I want to order that they don't have. I've never been here and they had hibiscus tea already made. Crazy! I come here pretty frequently. The atmosphere is great and the good is always wonderful. They keep updating their menu so that its fresh but that sometimes takes things off that I like - but often you can still get it if you ask. Its a very good value for good organic food too. I'll admit this location has had a lot of ups and downs since opening. Food/beverages are decent but I have yet to try the regular bakery items. If you're in a rush, try coming during non peak hours for better service. Its a nice spot for a quite dinner surprisingly. Staff is still hit and miss but hopefully that will get better in time. I will say that if you're used to the taste that comes with heavily seasoned and fatty food, you're probably not going to like it here. read more

Ok, so my review is going to be unique. I went in for an interview and was a bit late and was humiliated at the time but now I'm more amused then anything. So I admit I do not much care for the food here as to why I applied here...cause I won't work at places I love, there ya go. And yes I do admit I was 8 minutes late. But here's the story. I wasn't looking for a full time job. Just secondary employment. I already had a pretty decent job. At the time of application I was worrying more about financial situations then anything cause my unique living situation (if you want to know what I mean then ask and I will tell you) had become tense as I was the only one working as of that point. Well, when things got tight I started looking for a second job while the other adult in my house, who recently graduated from his college stuff searched for employment as well. I submitted A LOT of applications so truthfully I lost track. Well after quite awhile this location calls me to set something up but I had been working when they did so I had to call back...no one picked up the first time so I had to call again. Ok, busy rush, I totally understand. I set up the interview on the second call. Ok, did it. It's all good now and it was gonna be several days out till I had to go to it. Well, a few days passed and said roommate lets me know that he got a new job and starts the following week. I was so happy cause this meant I could pick back up on my other obligations to life BUT then I remembered this interview. Well I could always use extra money so I thought what the heck. However, the universe was not working with me that day. My power went out that day and I was I was working to get it back on AND I had to get some important paper work to my full time job. Ended up taking longer then I thought and long story short I was 8 minutes late to my interview. I walked in and NOT A SINGLE employee looked happy. Did NOT see a single smile anywhere. I stopped an employee and told her what I was there for and she told me to hold on and walked over to someone then she pointed at a table and told me to go to it...but she had an odd look on her face like this was something she hoped she wouldn't have to witness. I get to the table and the stores general manager is sitting there with paper work and putting butter on an already iced cinnamon roll. Eeeeew...he's not a little guy either but that's neither here nor there...he offers me a drink and points to the cups, so I turn around and get a cup and come back to the table and he tells me I was late and he won't interview late people (which I totally understand), I tell him why and ask if I can at least explain it and he tells me no. Ok, whatever so I ask if I can still get a drink and he says yes so I go get something from the fountain but out of curiosity on my way out I ask what the pay would have been...he says it would have been between $8 and $9 an hour!!!! So i admit I was kinda Petty and told him that I came from another interview and someone offered me more but really I was just upset at the embarrassing situation. I was so shaken up and embarrassed that I hurried out the door and actually dropped my drink in the door way and was just trying to hurry out that I didn't look back. I don't take being publicly embarrassed lightly. After I got to my car and gathered my thoughts I did try to call back and tell them and also apologize but as was before, no one answered and it wasn't peek time. At the time I was holding back years but really they were only from embarrassment. Really, this general manager may be tough, which I kinda respect, but I doubt he and I are actually in different pay grades. My peeve here is you're denying me an interview due to being a few minutes late, yet you were going to eat in front of me?!?! Sounds like there was unprofessional crap on BOTH ends cause he also had some kind of fancy coffee drink with whipped cream and unnecessary crap all on top of it as well. Like really, there was no office you could take me back to explain this to me? But really I do laugh about it now. Restaurant management does not pay that much so he and I are more then likely already in the same tax bracket but I don't have to deal with as much BS. I wouldn't want to work where everyone looks unhappy anyways read more

Staff very nice but the process was slow, no doubt due in part to putting the ordering board beyond the speaker where it's hard to see and impossible to select prior to getting to the speaker. This is intended to be helpful. Add an ordering board before the speaker and the speed will increase 40%. read more

I've actually dined at Panera Bread in other states with no complaints. Visited the one in Killeen Tx the day they opened. Waited 45 minutes our food and it was cold, mediocre and expensive. Got an adult grilled cheese to go that was mostly bread with a small amount of cheese not centered on bread. Was told that one of their sandwich presses had broken and that's why the wait. Needless to say I haven't returned for over a year until today. Intrigued by TV ad for salad and soups and decided to give them another chance. Got one of their specialty salads to go. It came in a cardboard box much like a small Chinese takeout container. Salad was small for $8.00 and some change. Tiny bit of salad dressing provided, but salad wilted and shredded chicken in salad placed in big pieces requiring a knife to cut. The chunk of French bread that accompanied with salad was delicious. I don't know if this Panera is poorly managed but can't imagine why anyone would return. This was second chance at redemption and I'll never return. Panera's corporate office needs to check out this location and see what they can do to improve. Looking at other Yelp reviews I'm not alone. read more

The food and tea are pricey but okay, but the service is horrible..... I ordered on one of their ordering computers since it was Saturday afternoon and the line was long. Sat down with my friends, a young kid brought me my soup and roll, but cup for the hot tea was not included. I asked for it, he went to check on it, but never came back with it. I stopped him while he was bringing another order out, he ignored me. So I grabbed the manager and asked for my tea cup. She brings me a cup as md tells me there is hot water for my tea upfront right by the coffee and the tea bags. I go upfront to finally get my cup of tea, but there is one hot water urrn (the time on it's sign says 11am and it is now around 3pm) and of course it is empty. I also noted that there was not a coffee urn insight, but there were clearly at least 4 open spaces for them. So I had to catch the manager again to finally get my cup of tea. She got me hot water from the kitchen....other things I noticed was that nobody was clearing/cleaning the tables after customers left. To me (and I have worked in busy restaurants before) it seemed that there was no organization, the young kids that brought out the food did not once make an attempt to pick up dirty dishes after delivering the food on their way back (they seemed not have to been trained very much), at times the manager tried picking up, but she seemed like she was lost too, running from emergency to emergency This was on a Saturday afternoon over about a three hour time frame. This a safe way to run a business into the ground. Hopefully they get their act together before it too late. read more

I don't appreciate employees questioning me about last year's Panera Vet Day thank you. I got a free You pick 2 last year. Maybe the employee gave it to me to be nice, but I know what I ate. ..When I got there today I was told it's just a free drink. Shame on Panera for not offering the advertised treat for Veterans Day. This is a military town, and for them to offer just a drink instead of what other Panera's are offering (You Pick 2) is really just a token and not a 'thank you.' I will be going to a Panera's that cares from now on, and it won't be the one in Killeen. read more

I have been a regular customer at Panera in many different cities, and this location, by far, is the absolute worst. I have visited this location three times for take out, and each time I have waited at least 30 minutes to receive my order. While waiting during my most recent visit, I observed an employee walk past a full rack of breads with a full trash can (brushing against the rack of breads when he went past), and after he returned the trash can to it's place, he went right back to the food service window and began serving food again without washing his hands. The service is terrible here and obviously there is a training issue with regards to cleanliness. I love my Panera back home, but I will never eat at this location ever again. read more

So this being my second time going to this location I expected it to be pretty good. I normally go to the location in Austin. Walking up to the restaurant I noticed that the outside could use a good sweeping. Walked in and it wasn't that dirty. Ordering was quick but I was some what disappointed when they didn't ask if I wanted apple, chips or the bread. So we grabbed our drinks and our goodies and went and sat down. The wait wasn't to long. So Mom got her a Napa Almond Chicken salad sandwich and I got my Smokehouse Turkey panini(?). Mom noticed right of the bat that her tomato was frozen or either got to cold in the fridge and the sandwich itself was disappointing. Mine was ok but I don't think it was real cheese and didn't seem to be melty. Mom's cookie was good but frosted upside down and my brownie is just as good. So just slightly disappointed and have noticed this place doesn't exactly have an awesome review on here just yet. read more

Love their bagels! That's it! It ends there. So I'm too pregnant and simply ordered a broccoli and cheese bread bowl... Got home I have soup and a bun. Thinking, Eh simple error. They said they will remake it. Called if I can pick it up early morning before I head out to work. They said anytime between 6:30am and 9pm. Get there at 8am before I head to work and they tell me that they don't have soups ready until after 10 am and I can pick one up after work. Strike 1! I go after work 7:30pm. Ma'am we don't serve bread bowls right now. Strike 2! They needed to explain that to me. (Cool weather, soup on bread bowl! How the heck not?) "alright I will try an avocado and turkey BLT panini." I take it home to STRIKE 3! I truly did not know that you can really mess up a sandwich. All the ingredients were there but literally in patches everything sliced and not spread out. There was a stack of 4 sliced tomatoes. Avocado stacked on the side of sandwich, lettuce half out and the turkey chunks and stacked on the other side. Even Subway employees know how to spread the ingredients on a sandwich. So this lead me to my review. Sorry they lost my business all together. Very disappointed. read more

This review is for a take-out order. I picked up my Pick 2 order which consisted of a Thai Chicken Salad and a Mediterranean Flatbread. The salad was missing ingredients (cashews, carrots, peanut sauce, cilantro), had very little edamame and roasted peppers, and the container was only half full. The flatbread had good flavor, but, again, skimping on the veggies. The company customer service rep failed to address the issue of missing ingredients when I messaged them. He basically stated that he would forward the info to the appropriate development teams. Great quality control!! I did like the take-out pick up system. For a new restaurant, the staff doesn't seem to care about presenting a fresh, clean face to the public. My family and I ate there at 5:30 pm on a Friday. The dining room was only half full and the place was a pig sty with napkins and food all over the floor and the drink filling station not wiped down at all. We ordered the French onion soup and some sandwiches. The soup was just okay. The sandwiches were just plain bad. My chicken salad had zero flavor and the bread fell apart when I tried to pick it up. Since this was all I ate that day, I can only assume it's the reason I spent most of the night running to the bathroom. Very unclean dining room so I assume very unclean kitchen.
