( Killeen, TX.) We came in and it wasn't busy ( 2:00pm) The place is clean and the atmosphere was nice. The cashier had no personality and service sucked. The food was okay. We had two pick two's and two drinks with a Cookie and it came to $43.00. The food was not worth the amount of money spent. My husband and I grabbed an early lunch at this Panera location before heading to the airport. I was pleasantly surprised by our visit here. Our food was prepared quickly and our meal was packaged & organized neatly (compared to our meals usually thrown in the bag at our usual Panera spots in California). We had excellent service during our brief visit to this Panera location. We ordered through the app and did the drive-up pick-up option to maximize our time and see my family before heading to the airport. The staff member that brought our food to our car was cheerful and friendly. The food is good, of course. It wasn't anything different than any other Panera location, which I'm thankful for. 5 out of 5 stars! We will definitely dine here again when we are back in the area. read more

Panera in Killeen is a great little escape in a busy area. The food is always fresh and tasty. I love the teas and iced coffee. Pastry items used to be displayed well and always made me want to get something but recently they changed the display into what the employee described as what is supposed to be more of a Parisian small bakery simplified aesthetic. I actually didn't care for it or some of the changes in the pastries made. I prefer seeing more choices and higher up, not just a few spattered along a counter behind glass but maybe that's just me. One other thing I wonder about and actually asked the cashier about was WHY the baguette you receive with the meal is ice cold and could it be heated up please. She actually told me there was a microwave available for me to use if I'd like it heated (not in a rude way or anything). Wow. Ok. I prefer warm bread, again maybe that's just me. Luckily I have enjoyed many different meals here and customer service is usually pretty good. I am now a part of the SIP CLUB and find that to be very useful as long as I visit more than 3 times for large drinks, anything after that is basically FREE. Staying at the Courtyard next door (literally walked right over) so super convenient location. It's right off of i-14/Texas expressway and across from the Killeen Mall. I chose to eat at the comfort of my own home so I went through the drive-thru. There is always a bit of a wait when ordering items at the panera bread drive-thru. I must say that price, is moderate. Similar to Starbucks they are on par with price. I ordered their mac and cheese as well as their iced green tea. The mac and cheese was to die for. It tasted very good, the cheese tasted home made and not processed, the pasta was evenly cooked I enjoyed it. The bread is just extra, it didn't bother me much, it wasn't stale. Their iced green tea was also very good. However, I just wish it was a bit more sugary. Just a tiny pinch. I will be coming to Panera more often as the mac and cheese and their iced drinks always hits the spot. read more

Meh, we ordered curbside. But, ultimately had to go in. Was it because of the rain? I don't know. We waited and waited for at least 15 minutes before going inside to pickup our mediocre warm food. The soup was hot, everything else was borderline warm. The food was decent though, but the cheese didn't come on top of my French onion soup. That was disappointing. I never had Panera Bread in my life and today I decided to try it for the first time. I went with something simple and easy with the flat bread pepperoni pizza in curbside pickup. When picking it up it came in cold.. like the box was cold and the pizza was cold. Now thinking about it I don't even think it was cooked to begin with because the cheeses and pepperoni was falling off and eating the thing had no warmth to it. I will not return to this Panera bread after my experience here this weekend. As we were walking up to the enterance an employee that was smoking outside flicked his cigarette into the middle of the street. This should have been a sign to leave but we stayed out of desperation because we were very hungry. The service was terrible. We made eye contact with several employees after standing and waiting at the register and ALL of them either ignored us or just walked away from the register to the back. A few appeared to be busy, but some sort of acknowledgment would have been appreciated. We had already ordered and paid for our food at the kiosk, otherwise we would have just left. Finally, after about 5 minutes, an employee asked if we needed help after noticing we were getting frustrated. All we needed were a few water cups. So disappointed in this location, I drove by today and got two breakfast sandwiches, a cup of fruit and four juice boxes.. the sandwiches were mediocre, but the fruit cup was so disappointing! I enjoy the coffee and pastry they have to offer at Panera. Unfortunately for this particular location, the overall cleanliness seems to be lacking. I have seen on more than one occasion fly's on top of the pastry. I had brought it to the attention of the cashier and she looked at me and absolutely nothing about it, didn't even acknowledge what I had said. In addition for some strange reason they seem to run out of hazelnut almost every-time I go there? I've been there at various times of the day, and it is pretty consistent. The team here is really nice and hard working. They make the Baja salad from scratch and there was a small line, so there was a little wait. It is worth the price and filling. The flavor isn't bold, but it is fresh. I would have liked the quinoa to have been cooked a little bit more. The Greek yogurt gives the salad a punch. It comes with a slice of ciabatta, and plenty of napkins. The Raspberry Almond Fingerprint cookie tasted sweet and tart with a good texture. The music was loud enough to hear the lyrics, but not too loud. They are indeed seating during Lockdown, and they have landscaped outdoor seating as well. I've been to a lot of panera restaurants and this is by far the worst that I have stopped by for lunch. I ordered the turkey chilli and a salad, which is my usual. However, there was some brown lettuce in the salad and the quinoa was stuck together in lumps...which leads me to believe that the salad was not fresh. The chilli was ok but it had too many beans and not much of anything else. I also ordered a pecan twist and instead they brought out the pecan roll. I am totally blown away by the poor quality of food and will opt to dine some where else the next time I go to lunch in Killeen. read more

Unlike other panera bread's, the mood seems so morbid. Barely any smiles from the employers and limited conversation with them. I thought it was a one time thing, but have noticed this on two separate occasions at two different times. I try to crack jokes to make the mood light, but no response. However, I do enjoy my panini's, sandwiches, soups, etc. They all taste fresh and delicious. I will still visit and eat here. Do not eat here, very rude staff, was in the drive through line at 10:38, by the time it got to me it was 10:59 am on Saturday I ordered the breakfast sandwich and the said they were sorry but breakfast ends at 11. The girl then put me on silent (was at the drive through) and then another lady came on and said in a very rude tone, "I know you've been in line before 11, but I'm sorry we've sold all our eggs, and breakfast ends at 11". What happened to customer service, I live in austin, and the Panera there goes above and beyond for their customers. Very disappointed and they've lost my business. I hope the higher up management read this, as they really need to work on their customer service. Update: the assistant manager Chante greeted me at the drive through as I was stuck in line and apologized and said it should not have been handled that way told them to make the eggs and fulfilled my order.
