I order chicken noodle soup often for my daughter, who absolutely loves it. But 4 out of 5 times the portions are absolutely terrible. It has been 5% noodles, chicken, vegetables and 95% broth. For the amount its costs the portions should be the other way around! When I asked them if they can make sure there was enough noodles and vegetables. They stated that, "Our bowls are portioned out." But I'm always paying for broth?? This is a major problem they have considering the other reviews have also commented on their portions. read more

8:15pm, Wednesday 2/15/23 My boyfriend and I went for supper at what WAS our fave place on Kearney. I wanted the new BBQ Chicken sandwich ...oh sorry we don't have any baguettes. Um ok, so I guess I'll find something else. We both ordered pick 2....Chipotle chicken and cup of soup. Sides? Oh no....ZERO baguettes....ZERO chips. Did not give us any other options..no cookie or treat nothing. We get our food....there's an apple on our plate. What? We didn't ask for an apple. My French onion soup was luke warm at best.... We came to panera bread in Kearney nebraska, the staff was absolutely appalling rudest teen staff ever. Argued with us about food when we said the correct thing, and the person at the front wrote it down in the computer wrong. then proceeded to throw the mac and cheese across the counter at us. Took order-had to review it 4 times with employee. Masks and plexi glass makes it difficult. Gave us a buzzard for when ready-never went off. Food was just sitting there. Had to exchange soup as it was cold. On the plus side, you can sit outside on a nice day. read more

The food is tasty enough. They do their spins on traditional sandwich / soup take out. It's not bad. The prices are high. The air about the place is a bit pretentious but the food isn't thaaatt good! They come off as a bit snooty sometimes. If you want slightly above average food at above average prices, this is your place. I'd rather eat at Culver's just down the street. read more

Doesn't even deserve a star. From the start, it seemed fine. Great employee when I made my order, but this doesn't even outweigh what happened next. After everyone else in my party had gotten their food and I had been sitting for about 15 minutes, I started politely and asked where my food was. After them explaining that I may have not ordered at all, I was wondering where their logic had went; How am I going to be with a party of other people and not order. After explaining this, they changed their story to cover themselves and said that I may have ordered incorrectly. Again, the lack of logic is impeccable. How is telling someone what I want specifically an incorrect way of ordering. This was fine, simple mistake, right? "They can accept their mistake and cover it", I thought. Nope, they are so entitled that they refuse to accept any mistakes, and after all of this argument, it took them the logic of three people to realize that accepting their mistake and making a singular bowl of Mac and cheese isn't that hard. This is your typical Panera, the food is pretty good but it just seems to be too pricey. I used to work at a Panera and I felt the girl at the counter could have been a bit more knowledgeable about the menu but it is what it is. My fave item is the steak panini, sooo good. read more

I was greeted kindly at the door by an associate, I explained it was my first time in. He let me know they roast all of their beans there and including espresso. I ordered a sugar free latte and it was heavenly! The coffee is smooth not bitter. I was greeted by other associates as well. Worst experience I had in a drive through. The wait was long and I saw employees eating through the window. I got the mac and cheese with the baguette and when I went to go eat it, the mac and cheese was still cold and some noodles frozen. The baguettes are normally pretty hard to chew but I don't mind it, this time it was so dark and hard I couldn't even take a bite out of it. Panera's identity is their bread, Ok. But bread is cheap! Especially when massed produced like they do it. Their food is overpriced, and other than bread pretty weak, IMO... I am sad to see "meh" chains like this become the only option in so many places across the country, and increasingly the world. read more

No. Just, no. It's very sad to me, and plenty others I know, that Pane Bello shut down so this crappy place could come in. From what I was told, the Pane owners couldn't pass up what Panera offered them. Fine and dandy for them, hope they enjoy their money. I on the other hand would prefer to enjoy a good meal prepared and served with love. The staff at Panera is not always the best, unfortunately that's what you get with corporate training. They just don't care, they are only there for the paycheck. IF they show up. Was told twice while there that they were understaffed because someone didn't show. I never felt or saw that when I went to Pane Bello. Even the high school kids seemed to care about the business, you can't buy that kind of loyalty, it's earned and taught by management. The food is sub par. The bread is fresh baked daily, but it comes to the store frozen. Don't be fooled into thinking they make the dough on site, they don't. It gets trucked in, pre formed, the same as the bagels. All that is fine, but they try to fool you into thinking it's fresher and healthier than it is. I will not be eating here ever again. Spend your money elsewhere in Kearney. If you happen to go to Skeeter Barnes, be sure to tell them you miss their sister store. The one that is now gone so this place could take the building. Comment: Kearney Panera falls well short of the Panera Bread name and company standards in customer service. Experience: On my way there I called ahead to place my order to pick up and was told they "weren't allowed to do that." So, upon arriving at the store on a Monday morning at 8:35, where there were about 3 customers present, I ordered a regular breakfast menu item, the Bacon, Egg, & Cheese on Asiago Cheese Bagel, to which I was informed they were "out of asiago cheese bagels." As an alternative, I requested an everything bagel, to which I was informed -you guessed it- they were out of those too. (It's 8:35AM). The last time I was there, which was on a Saturday or Sunday, after waiting in line for 5 minutes or so, I attempted to order a breakfast item at 11:01 AM and was told breakfast serving hours were over; "no breakfast for you!" This place sucks. If you can't order food and they don't have the food you want, why bother going there? I love Panera; I just can't get any at this location. Recommendation: FIRE THE MANAGEMENT and get somebody in there that understands the first rule of restauranteering. read more
