Went in while my wife is in the hospital. I love firehouse subs. This location has serious issues! To start there were a grand total of 7 people in the lobby my sandwich took 20 minutes to make! Then to top it off I get to the hospital and my sandwich was completely wrong! They asked if I wanted it loaded I said no and started listing off what I wanted on it. Once I see what is on my sandwich it has 3 additional items 2 of which make me sick when I eat them. I called and they said they would refund me tomorrow morning. I have gone to this location for years but there has been a definite downturn in service. Last visit they made my wife's sandwich incorrectly and my wife asked for it to be fixed. The attitude of the sandwich maker was unreal. She acted like it was my wife's fault for wanting it her way. We decided she was having a bad day and let it pass. Today I walked in and the place was empty. Went up to order a sandwich and was told it would be a long time before they could serve me because they were making a big order. I asked how long and they had no idea. I dont know how hard it is to fix a single sandwich in the middle of a large large order that no one was even waiting for. I may be wrong but you think they could fix a sandwich for a person that was actually there waiting for it. Very very disappointed in the service and staff attitude the last 2 visits. Probably will go elsewhere from now on. If you manage or own this you need to get a handle on the situation or your staff will ruin your business. I wish you luck. read more

$4.98 for a glass of water is outrageous I was passing through the area and placed an order online. I purchased two bottles of water. Once I went in to pick up my order, they had no bottles of water. They would not refund my money and only gave me a glass to get water out of the tap. read more

Compared to other sub shops, Firehouse is tastier, a tiny bit more expensive, and a tiny bit slower. On this visit, the counter person guided me to the Sweet & Spicy Meatball sub... fantastic advice, and I'll be eating it regularly if the Firehouse closer to home makes it half as good as this one did. read more

The restaurant was incredibly dirty, I did watch an employee go in to clean a bathroom but I'm not sure they do much other than fill paper products, it was gross. The dining area was filthy and no one in the building, perhaps the girl wearing headphones while working could go wipe tables? The young man who took our order seemed like he'd rather do anything else. When he handed us our change he wadded it up and just handed to me, didn't say thank you...not "here's your change" nothing. It was so bizarre. I will say when the other employee wasn't watching TV he was really nice and our sandwiches tasted good. Grumpiest staff of any place I've been too. Food was average at best. We tried to call in our order for pickup, but the mumble-mouth that answered the phone just said "wait a sec" and put the phone down, and then walked away. We gave it 5 minutes and he never came back, could here him BS'ing in the background with a girl. So we drove there, and there were 4 people working and the place was empty! The cashier was a grouchy younger lady, who never made eye contact or said " thanks" or " enjoy", or any of the other NORMAL responses to customers. We won't return here. I've been to Firehouse plenty of times before and I hardly ever leave reviews but my experience tonight was the weirdest experience I've had there thus far. My bf and I walk up to the counter to order just for this kid, (probably not any older than 11 years old, who was initially on the same side of the counter of us talking to friends or siblings), to walk behind the counter, put on a Firehouse hat (he wasn't in a uniform) and act like he was gonna take our order. He didn't say anything and I didn't give him my order because I highly doubt he actually works there based on how old he looks. After a while he goes to the back to let someone else know that we're up front wanting to order, and another younger girl (no uniform) walks out and takes our order very quickly. The food came out in a decent time after ordering but I just felt the need to write a review stating there weren't any adults/anyone even over the age of 18 working there that I could see and it made the experience very odd. read more

i haven't wrote a review for anything on yelp, i only post photos, but coming here and being treated as nicely as i was, i felt like i should make one. i took a drive down from ord, mainly for food, since im tired of everything to eat in this town. i ordered a large italian, subbed turkey for ham, and i told them how i had previously stopped at taco bell so i could get some steak for my doggo since i wanted to treat him a little. (yeah i get it, but we love junk food) after i had ordered i asked for a couple of slices of turkey, and i'd gladly pay, and the lady who rang me up, can't recall any names, said don't worry about it. they gave me a small cup with at least 6-7 slices of turkey. there was three people working, and they were all so nice i figured i'd share my experience. the sandwich is , i'm eating it as i type lol. i'll 100% be back next time i'm in town. read more

Visiting from Omaha and happy Kearney has a Firehouse as I love their subs. My 2 star rating does not include the food so this is a service rating only. Isaac, you need to pick up your game young man. Attitude and common courtesy is something only you control. Im not a huge fan of cold sandwiches... I would even say that I highly dislike them except italian sub. The firehouse elevated the italian to my exact taste and bonus point it was also warm The best italian sandwich I have ever eaten in my life. The subs are good and it's fun to try the different sauces. Staff is usually very nice and they make you feel welcomed. The last time I was in there was a staff member there that was talking to us about his favorite sauces and watching my brother eat one that was a little too spicy for him lol Overall, good food and nice staff. read more

Firehouse subs is not in a fire house. I didn't see any ghostbuster merchandise either. I wish i did cause as tasty as the sandwich was, i got it to watch Halloween Kills which has fire fighers. Great to have a Firehouse Sub in Kearney. The only reason this is not 5 stars is the soup. Love the sandwiches which are always loaded and very tasty. Had some broccoli cheese soup that was good tasting but a little thin with not much broccoli chunks or potato chunks. Will still go back again. We ordered two medium subs to go. After at least 30 minutes my name was called so I went to the counter. There was a sack there so I looked inside and I could see two subs so I assumed that this must be my order. Since no one was around I took the sack and left. When I got home we both thought that our turkey and steak subs were terrible. The bread was not toasted but soggy. We thought the lettuce and meat tasted bad so we threw them out. Food is amazing but the service is definitely not there. A coworker and I ordered online to speed up the process when I got in. After waiting 30 minutes I informed them again that I'm waiting on an order (2 sandwiches) because I was noticing walk-in customers getting their food way quicker than me. After they spoke about it they realized it was just sitting on the top of the toasting machine. They handed me the food with no apology. Next, I went in last night with my family and dealt with a kid who was coming off as an unprofessional smart ass at the register. Got my orders wrong and asked me if my sandwich was the correct sandwich when he delivered it to me. I said yes because I did not want to have to deal with another long wait. Went in today and got my usual steak and cheese and my little brother a turkey only sandwich. They messed up and gave our order to the wrong table.. no big deal they made us new ones. I got home and realized my little brothers turkey only sandwich had the works on it. Kids are picky and there was no way in hell he was going to eat it.
