I like Red Lobster but this location in Kearney Nebraska can't wait to get closed every night. My work territory stretches from Denver Colorado to the Indiana/Iowa border but even then it's 80% in Nebraska so I stay in Kearney a 30+ nights every year. They say they close at 9:00 and delivery orders stop at 8:45 but if you walk in or call after 8 it's coin flip if they'll take your order and after 8:30 their kitchen's closed so what's the point of saying you're open till 9: 00. My work requires a lot of driving and late nights so I never get to eat dinner before 7:00. I get tired of late night fast food but unfortunately Red Lobster in Kearney is not the solution to that problem. read more

Apparently was here 7 years ago. And we don't frequent chains anyway. Lunch sharing a Shrimp Bowl with plain cheesecake for app, just arrived. Is beautiful and really good. Corn fritters are also excellent. Those are surprise comp. We are very happy here! read more

Pick up shrimp dinner was okay. Trying to order via their website wasn't easy nor friendly. We ended up calling it in. They didn't have coconut shrimp, so we ordered fried. Shrimp was a bit soggy. My baked potato was good & the roasted Brussels sprouts were as well. Too big of portion but it was an up charge. Sister's shrimp dinner came with tasty bacon Mac & cheese and rice pilaf, an up charge. She loved it. I realize take out can be a challenge. Would we order again? Sure. read more

Food was good. For appetizers we got the lobster dip and the new calamari they had which were a 10/10. Entrees we got one all you can eat shrimp and a surf and turf which were 8/10 lobster was bad but everything else was great. For drinks we got the espresso martini, the watermelon martini and a lobster punch, every single one of those drinks were two strong and not very tasty which I would give a 1/10. Order online from this location, was a hotel guest in town. Food was hot, fresh and fast! I have not had a better meal from take out then here. There were empty tables everywhere yet it was a 10 minute wait. Or server was excellent! The cheddar bay biscuits were delicious. We had the trout, my wife said it was fishy tasting. I had the fish fry, the coleslaw was very warm, the batter on the fish was tasteless. Not very good. read more

Food quality has gone down. Biscuits used to be a favorite of mine but now they are bland. Fried mozzarella sticks are skinny and fell apart in my hand. Service was fine. The Kearney red lobster is a pretty good store! Located right off interstate 80 you can't go wrong! The location is easy to get to, super casual, nice and prompt wait staff and surprisingly fresh seafood for being smack-dab in the middle of the country! A classic Red Lobster, with dishes prepared as you would hope and expect. Servers are quite competent. Me: I'm doing the shrimp pick 2, and don't want to make a bad life choice. So to go with my scampi, do you suggest the fried or popcorn shrimp? Server: "a second scampi." Brilliant suggestion! She also made sure we knew about the seasonal fresh vegetables, which were delicious. It's such a shame, we haven't been here for a while and things taste so different! I ordered the cajun chicken linguine. Not a homemade taste at all. Tastes like it came out of a jar. And the chicken tasted preseasoned, cooked, and already sliced up. Nothing was really hot, served on cold plates, restaurant was cold. Its January. Amazing service and food. You must try the stuffed mushrooms, they are the best I have ever tasted. The jumbo coconut shrimp and Pina colada sauce is off the hook. I've eaten a several Red Lobster's during my life, but I can honestly say that last night, I had my best Red Lobster meal in Kearney, NE. I had the Mixed Grill with salmon, and it was to die for. Good service, but the food is hit-or-miss at the best. The sirloin with shrimp and lobster butter was a real treat, but the crab and lobster are very off-tasting and apparently shipped frozen. Drop in to this location 2-3 times a year. Every time we're there it seem like the staff is trying to push us through like a school cafeteria! Not what I would expect for what they charge $$$. We ordered an appetizer and it came with our meal. This has happen several times before. When it was brought to the servers attention she had nothing to say and walked off. Came in an hour before closing. Service was good. Food was pretty slow for an almost empty dining room. Rice was chewy and dry, salad was wilty, and Alfredo sauce had been microwaved (cream and butter had separated so the noodles and shrimp were swimming in a butter pool) but it so tasted okay. Great service. From the manager who seated us to Gunner our server they were excellent. Food was prompt, hot and delicious. Soup was piping hot and hit the spot even though it was 80 degrees outside. Calamari and vegetables are my favorite at another location but here they were somewhat soggy and the vegetables a little mushy. Our table smelled uncomfortably of cleaning solution when we arrived but the smell was gone before we finished our meal. Our waitress was great. I haven't had a good meal here and I've been here at least 10 times. Hubby likes formula food and I have a different perspective. If you love Red Lobster you will be happy here. Arrive before 5 on weekends or you will wait. Expect issues with food temperature and quality. High priced drinks and crappy salads, but the biscuits are yummy. Tonight I had lobster walking tacos for 13.99 and they were terrible. Minimal amount of thawed frozen lobster on icky slaw on a tortilla. Nasty. The food was worth the price. The service was mediocre. Other than the fact that it is seafood place the experience, service and staff was likened to a typical chain restaurant. Very nice staff. Clean bathrooms! Food was good- actually my first time at Red Lobster. I was able to get the lunch special even though it was after 3:00 pm ( about 15 minutes later). I had grilled chicken with grilled shrimp. We shared the shrimp potstickers appetizer and the shrimp Yucatán app ( both small plates). My husband had the grilled Trio with lobster, shrimp, and salmon; he said it was a bit too buttery- though pretty good. read more
