Butternut squash soup and Mediterranean veggie sandwich
Aubrey J.

I used to come here almost everyday during my lunch break! With an hour off, I always had enough time to drive over, order, and eat without feeling rushed (and still had time to stop by Whole Foods a few stores down). The food at this location was always fresh, and the service was always polite and fast. I liked to sit down to eat because the eating area was always clean and quiet.

Food under and on tables

This was my 2nd visit in the past year, and conditions were worse this time. Nice, helpful employees is the only reason it doesn't get 1 star. 4:00pm, so between lunch and dinner rush. Everything was super dirty. Ugh. From outside the store, to the vestibule, to the bakery/register area to every. stinking. table. and my flatware. Ummm . . . I think I'm done here.

Fuji apple chicken salad

Panera is a staple, always the same, nothing too crazy. This was no exception, the staff was polite and moved quickly. The food tastes the same, which is perfect for a quick bread-filled lunch on the go.

Horrible service! Overpriced and Dirty! Panera is really going downhill! The floor and tables were filthy, the person working the counter couldn't be less interested in being there or to take our order. Order was for 2 Mac-N-Cheeses, 2 fountain drinks and one cookie. Then we were told they ran out of bread!? It's literally Panera Bread!! How is that possible? We were asked if we wanted a fruit cup or apple chips instead. We picked 2 bags of apple chips and sat down to wait for our name to be called as it was an eat-in order. All the tables were dirty and there was food and debris all over the rug. 15 minutes later we approached to ask about the order only to find out it was sitting there in a to-go bag getting cold. The sides in the bag...one apple and a bag or regular chips? We asked the cooks if there was bread and they respond they "had some" and that they "stop serving it after a certain time". We also asked about the to-go bag for an eat-in-order and they told us they didn't want to dirty any bowls or silverware "at this time of night". Note - we ordered at 7:45 and they close at 9pm! $32 and the nerve to ask for tip on screen! Will never go here again. Panera you need to start training your people better.

Salad and sandwich

As I am aware this place is a franchise so I can't really criticize too much about the food. I got the get two deal which was a salad and avocado chicken melt sandwich. Both of them were small sizes because of the deal. As well I got bread to go with the deal. I opted out of ordering drinks. I ordered from the screen, and got my food after some time. I also got to take some of the salad home using a to-go salad container. The place was clean and spacious. It was a nice place to dine. The sandwich was delicious - I honestly love avocado and chicken so it was a great combo. The salad was a bit bland but it had some chicken bits to keep it flavorful. It also had some fruit in the salad, which I knew about when I ordered it, but I realized it didn't mesh well with the rest of the salad. I think if I had chosen another type of salad, it would have been better. Fyi, even though the cups are easily accessible for everyone to use along with free refills, unless it is just water, you aren't suppose to use the cups if you didn't pay for drinks.

String

Ordered soup on Door dash for me and my 8 month old baby. My soup came with a piece of string in it. I'm so disgusted and I can only imagine where it came from or had my baby swallowed it. Like come on people, you need to be more careful when handling the food others have to ingest.

As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by one of the owners. It's a husband-and-wife team, which always earns bonus points in my book. I was promptly seated, given a menu, and immediately overwhelmed--in the best way--because everything sounded amazing. I ended up asking the owner for help deciding, and I'm so glad I did. I chose the chicken and dumpling soup (they rotate specialty soups weekly) and a loaded sweet potato. The soup was incredibly flavorful--slightly saltier than my personal preference, but thankfully I tasted it before adding anything. The thyme flavor really stood out and made the dish comforting and delicious. I'd absolutely recommend it if it's available when you visit. The loaded sweet potato was topped with jerk chicken, one of my favorite seasonings. You can adjust the heat, and I went with how it comes--very hot! I loved it. Spicy, bold, and full of flavor, with the sweet potato cooked to perfection. They also offer unsweetened, fresh-brewed iced tea with free refills, which is always a huge plus for me. The café itself is small, but while I was there, there was a steady flow of people coming and going--it's clearly a popular hometown spot. Everything on the menu looked fantastic, so I'll definitely be making a return trip to try something new. They serve both breakfast and lunch, and they also offer catering, which makes this spot even more appealing whether you're stopping in for a quick meal or looking to feed a group. If you're in Jenkintown, I highly recommend stopping by Welcome Home Café. You won't regret it.

However, many of you might not know that Mister Ricks also makes great cheesesteaks. They have one of the best cheesesteaks I've eaten in Philly. The sliced ribeye is tender, juicy, and flavorful and stuffed into a giant seeded roll. A bargain for $14.99. Get it with fried onions and your choice of American, Provolone, or Cooper Sharp Cheese (hint: get Cooper Sharp!). It was so good I didn't even need to add any flavorings like ketchup or mayo to it (some cheesesteaks in South Philly are so dry they need ketchup and mayo to make them palatable). Mister Ricks cheesesteak is also physically larger than a lot of cheesesteaks I've eaten, so not only do you get a great cheesesteak, but it's also a great BIG cheesesteak that can be shared, especially if you get a couple of bags of chips. Oh, yes, they also have a vast array of chips and Coca Cola soda products to choose from. My son pointed out that this cheesesteak rivals and even beats any of the fancy, famous cheesesteak shops I've taken him to all around Philly. Totally true. I can name some of them, but then those shops might not like me anymore! Service is always quick and efficient. They serve a lot of folks on days with sporting events so if you're in a hurry, call ahead to place your order. There's no dining tables inside, but there's plenty of seats at the park right across the street.

Came here today and ordered a stacked Italian, and wow--I was not disappointed. The balance of…read moremeat, cheese, and toppings was spot on. The onions were sliced perfectly thin, the lettuce was shredded just right and spread evenly across the roll. Speaking of the roll--let's talk about it. The sesame seed roll had great texture and flavor, easily a standout on its own. Sure, their hours are a little unusual, but I get it--they probably don't need to stay open all day because the local crowd keeps them busy, and honestly, the hoagies are just that damn good. I'd happily come back for another one anytime.

Everyone orders this. Most establishments prepare and double, maybe triple, maybe even quadruple up on their stock order in anticipation that every household within a 5 mile radius will be calling in for these items. But not Pizza Wheel. Out of wings and chicken fingers by 4:00PM. Really?? Maybe every household in 50 mile radius called Pizza Wheel first thing in the morning and wiped out the whole supply?? Anyway, we wound up with a pizza, onion rings and a cutlet. Yes, one cutlet. Pizza was forgettable, onion rings were good but the cutlet, I could have ordered a bunch of those had I known how tasty it was going to be. Very crispy and the buffalo sauce was on the side which was nice because it kept the cutlet crispy. However, crispy cutlet or not, it could not save my review because another negative was we tried to do delivery so as not to miss any part of the game but 9.00 delivery fee + 9.00 driver tip??? Again, really??? Yeah, we decided to pick up instead to save almost 20.00 wtf!!! And you ain't got no damn wings. No.

I met up with a friend for dinner (parking was slim on this particular evening so I parked in a paid lot). We were seated immediately upon arrival. Ample seating with big booths! We lucked out with all large pizzas being 50% off!!! The price of a large pie was the same price as a personal so I had pizza for dayyyys! My Trifekta pizza hit each and every mark. Crispy crust, delicious pesto and vodka sauces and a great flop. It was perfect and I've never had anything like it. Very artsy, very classy, very demure with the swirl design. Zucchini fries were fantastic, too. They were chunky! I'm so used to zucchini fries being thinner. The chili aioli sauce paired very nicely with them. I had a wonderful experience and have zero complaints about the service. Can't wait to enjoy many more pizzas here!

A few people in our group didn't receive their food until we brought it to the waitress's attention, but the issue was handled quickly.
