I'd give this Panera about 3.5 stars overall. The food was good and came out warm, which I really appreciated--it definitely hit the spot. Everything tasted fresh and was made pretty well. The only downside was the service. The workers seemed to have a bit of an attitude, which made the experience feel less welcoming than it should've been. We went tonight and every single worker was MEAN and MISERABLE number one. Like, angry that they had customers and refusing to even extend the courtesy of speaking lol. They were OUT OF ALMOST EVERYTHING (without any notification) we ordered and, as a result, decided to just throw my soup in a cup rather than the bread bowl bc they didn't have any left. When I asked about it, I was told - void of any apology or concern - that there "is none" and wasn't even offered any compensation. Horrible service! Overpriced and Dirty! Panera is really going downhill! The floor and tables were filthy, the person working the counter couldn't be less interested in being there or to take our order. Order was for 2 Mac-N-Cheeses, 2 fountain drinks and one cookie. Then we were told they ran out of bread!? It's literally Panera Bread!! How is that possible? We were asked if we wanted a fruit cup or apple chips instead. We picked 2 bags of apple chips and sat down to wait for our name to be called as it was an eat-in order. All the tables were dirty and there was food and debris all over the rug. 15 minutes later we approached to ask about the order only to find out it was sitting there in a to-go bag getting cold. The sides in the bag...one apple and a bag or regular chips? We asked the cooks if there was bread and they respond they "had some" and that they "stop serving it after a certain time". We also asked about the to-go bag for an eat-in-order and they told us they didn't want to dirty any bowls or silverware "at this time of night". Note - we ordered at 7:45 and they close at 9pm! $32 and the nerve to ask for tip on screen! Will never go here again. Panera you need to start training your people better. read more

This is by far the worst location in the area.... This is 5 minutes from my home but I go all the way to the Willow grove location... They send you a notification to say your food is done but when u arrive it really is not. I think they do this so it appears to management the are getting the orders out on time. You receive the message it is ready and when you arrive it is another 35-45 minute wait. This has happened on multiple occasions and the process to report a complaint on their website is too much of a hassle ( this only happens from 4pm- till closing not breakfast) This has turned me off from going to this location at all even thou it seems to always happen on the same shift. Also the quality here is not as good as Willow Grove neither is the service. When I dine in I often have to clean the table off myself before sitting down. Willow Grove is ALWAYS clean. The manager at Willow Grove is always walking around and cleaning speaking to customers. The quality use to be better here I don't know what happened. read more

I had a tennis event out in Jenkintown and following my tennis event, I decided to stop off at this Panera Bread. This Panera is located in Baederwood shopping center in Jenkintown. There were plenty of other options in the same shopping center including Snap pizza and Whole Foods, but I decided to stick with Panera. This Panera is hosts many locals, but it is very large and it didn't seem crowded at all. There were also multiple cashiers and kiosks that allow you to order by yourself. I decided to order with one of the cashiers and Mia was very kind, polite and friendly. I was taken care of very quickly and I ordered a four cheese grilled cheese sandwich, a cup of tomato soup and a brownie. I also got three chocolate chip bagels to go. I got a nice comfortable booth towards the middle of the restaurant. After only about 5 minutes of waiting, my food was all ready. I started off with my tomorrow Soup, which had a nice distinct flavor that was brought out with a hint of pepper. I also had a tasty four cheese grilled cheese with some fresh tomato on top. I also loved my strawberry banana smoothie, which was delicious. Altogether, this is a very nice, large Panera Bread that serves some great, delicious food options. read more

As I am aware this place is a franchise so I can't really criticize too much about the food. I got the get two deal which was a salad and avocado chicken melt sandwich. Both of them were small sizes because of the deal. As well I got bread to go with the deal. I opted out of ordering drinks. I ordered from the screen, and got my food after some time. I also got to take some of the salad home using a to-go salad container. The place was clean and spacious. It was a nice place to dine. The sandwich was delicious - I honestly love avocado and chicken so it was a great combo. The salad was a bit bland but it had some chicken bits to keep it flavorful. It also had some fruit in the salad, which I knew about when I ordered it, but I realized it didn't mesh well with the rest of the salad. I think if I had chosen another type of salad, it would have been better. I am not a huge fan of Panera Bread - in fact I'm usually not much of a devotee to any chain restaurant. Yet somehow Panera Bread squeezed 4 stars out of me but the reason for that comes later in the review and actually doesn't have much to do with my meal there. The Panera Bread on The Fairway in Jenkintown is a large one with several dining rooms. I do like you can avoid the line and order directly on the computer. Your tracking device will let you know when your order is completed. The food is decent. I had a bread bowl of baked potato soup that was flavorful but only luke warm, and tiny. Tip - If you don't order the bread bowl but a regular bowl, you will get much more soup. My sandwich was very tasty. The blend of flavors in a roasted turkey with apple slaw and cheddar on a cranberry walnut bread was excellent .... and expensive. You have a choice of an apple or chips for a side. However what I like about this Panera Bread is that it functions as the neighborhood café in an area where there are very few if any. Nearby Penn State Abington students, businessmen or women on a coffee or late-lunch break, and a couple of groups of older women playing a game that I don't know called Mah Jong were among the customers found here relaxing, working on the computer, or socializing. This Panera Bread is big enough that there was still enough room to accommodate people seeking a table for a quick lunch or afternoon snack. On a Monday we wanted to eat outside at 11:30am, but every table was in the hot bright sun. The tables had umbrella holes, but not a single umbrella on any table. Also tables were dirty. Disappointment continued when we tried to order. They were out of two things, so I asked for a bagel. The only bagels they had were plain and blueberry. We ordered plain. We went to find a table . However all of the tables that were available to sit were dirty----every single one! People were seated at Covid-spaced tables if the chairs were not tied down, so we did that. Would be a better rating if it wasn't for the stuff I witnessed. I have absolutely no beef with the employees or even how they conduct their preps. We are in a pandemic, things are bound to go haywire from here and there. Their food though, at least for me in regards to this location, has been consistent and great! But I just wish that the District Manager or whoever I saw chew out the dang manager for letting people temporarily use a plastic fork would get a dash of realization. I understand policy, but I think they fail to realize that we are in a pandemic. Everything is hard. Panera bread is not bad. It actually has pretty healthy foods. I wouldn't mind eating this food for lunch. However, the prices are just so ridiculous. Even the pick two meal, where you get a tiny half a sandwich and a small bowl of soup was about $10 after taxes. The chicken noodle soup had like two pieces of chicken and tasted pretty watered-down. Wawa isn't very cheap either, but the chicken noodle soup is much better and it costs about the same. They have good juices and a quiet environment to do work. Hi I haven't been to Panera bread, in a while but I do know that they have some delicious and healthy foods that you can choose from. I love their grilled cheese sandwiches, broccoli and cheddar soup, and tomato soup. I would highly recommend anyone to try the tomato soup to anyone who goes there. This place is pretty much consistent, however, my recent visit the chicken and wild rice soup wasn't heated all the way before serving; it was literally hot but cold towards the bottom. So, that was disappointing. I usually get the napa chicken salad sandwich which was good. The pastries are not bad either--I'm a toffee nut cookie kinda sister (lol). I normally LOVE Panera Bread! But not at this location. I've eaten here several times because of its convenience to where I had to be, but I'll never fork over my money to this one again. And the biggest warning I can give you about this place is DON'T TAKE OUT FROM HERE. It's a huge rip off! I've taken out from this location twice, and eaten in a few times. HUGE difference in portion size! I substituted avocado for chicken, and when I took it out, I literally got 3 tiny slices of avocado. The salad in the cardboard container (it was a Pick 2) looked like a side salad. There was only a fraction of the food you get when eating in. I called the manager, who wasn't helpful or nice at all, and said he oversaw the portion and it was fine. I'm a regular at Panera in other places and this one is NOT serving correct portion sizes for take-out. I took out from this location another time and it was the same. . .poor portion size (not enough for dinner), and they left things off the order. I have been to this Panera quite a few times, and usually I am impressed, but today, not quite so much. It was not a bad experience, it was just not the best. I placed an online order and my email stated that my order should be ready around 6:35 PM. I arrived at the store around 6:29 PM and waited in the car until it was 6:35 PM. I walk into the store and do not see my order on the shelf. I notice on the screen that my order is the 4th in line to be prepared (when it already should have been ready at this time). I wait for about ten minutes and finally, someone calls the order (seemed like a manager) and told me that "he believes" everything is in the bag, and then repeated back the order that I had from the receipt. He seemed nice, but he made sure to double check the woman's order ahead of me when she put in her order, yet he did not do that with me. When I got the bag, I noticed that the soup's were laying on their side and I quickly fixed them for the car ride home. My Mom and Nana enjoyed their Napa Almond Chicken Salad sandwiches. The French Onion soup usually comes with croutons, but they unfortunately forgot to give them to us. However, we only asked for three bags of chips, and they gave us five, so I guess that's a plus. :) As for my sandwich, it was okay, I got the turkey, apple, and cheddar sandwich. Usually I like to get it on the asiago cheese focaccia, but it was not available, so I opted for the sour dough bread. It didn't taste bad, but because the bread is much smaller, the amount of chicken and cheese I got was SO minimal. I literally got maybe two or three pieces of chicken and ONE slice of cheese.....
