I've been coming to this particular Panera for many years. Usually disappointed. Only go there because it's the only one near me on cape. My order is usually messed up. Today, I placed a to go order hours before I wanted to pick it up, because I know they run out of things. Placed the order at 2:00 for 5:00 pickup. Arrived on time only to be met by a server stating that my order was altered because they ran out of what I ordered. This isn't right. It's the last time I visit this Panera. Kind and helpful service. Several members of staff helped us. They were very helpful in helping us with our order and getting everything to our table. Delicious sandwich and hearty soup. We also both ordered mac and cheese, only gave us one spoon for 2 bowls of Mac and cheese. Normally I like this chain. This location is lacking. I even brave other locations for the excellent bagels at hours of the day that ensure no one in the crowd is yet caffeinated. So don't think I'm shy. Overnight, by the testimony of one cashier, the menu boards have been changed. They no longer list several many items listed on the paper menu and online. Including sandwiches, the mainstay of lunch. WTAF. This makes hangry me click it up just half a notch more on today's annoyance meter. Forced to review the full menu just moments before ordering, I'm still reading when the clerk asks "what will you have?" But she asked in a crass tone that indicated I should have known what I wanted for lunch when I woke up today. Half a click more. Here's your cup soda is down there. Another half click as the Pepsi is decidedly diet. Thank god I'm not allergic to Acesulfame Potassium. Another half notch please. Your food is ready. Joy, the default turkey club I was forced to order under siege. You'd think you can't go wrong with bacon. But yes, you can. So terribly and horribly so. I love this Panera, their food is one of my go-to places on Cape Cod. Curbside pickup is really convenient, and their sandwiches and bread are really good. Sometimes they mix up the side order and give me chips instead of bread as a side, but that rarely happens and all the good experiences I had with them outweighs those mistakes. read more

Every time I go to Panera it's 5 stars, but this one is the first one that was terrible. The food was not the best and the service was terrible. This particular Panera is the very busiest I've ever been to- it's tucked into a strip mall across from the Cape Cod Mall, about a 1/2 mile from the Hyannis rotary. With little or no visibility from Rt 132 you might think fewer people would find it but no, always a crowd, always bustling and noise. With all that going on, the customer service remains high, with cashiers working with smiles all around no matter how difficult ti may be! Summer on cape cod with tourists ganging up in front of you? not a pretty picture! I was there yesterday with an old friend for a late lunch (1:30'ish) and it was crazy, I think partly because it was a rainy day and what do you do on the cape when it rains? movies or out to eat. The cashier was easygoing and friendly-when the woman in front of us suddenly ran away to find her friend to place her order (really? just . . really?) the cashier next to her graciously slid us into her line to take our order so we wouldn't wait even longer- thank you! After all that we only waited 3 minutes for the order- what a crew! Food was dependably good as always. I tried the Chicken Soba Noodle Broth Bowl which was so much better than I even expected, with real soba noodles, a good amount of sliced chicken on top (like Panera adds to a chicken caesar) nice combo of vegetables and a surprisingly deeply flavored broth. It comes with one of their delicious baguettes. We sat for over two hours watching people enjoying their drinks and food that came out quickly - this Panera has the system down! read more

Once again a lovely panera experience in yet another city. Got my usual Thai Chicken Salad with an apple and it was beautiful and delicious as always! It never ceases to impress me how nice-looking their food comes out, even in the lunch or dinner rush hour. This one has buzzers which is nice so they're not yelling out names, and there is outdoor seating! It's pretty large, clean bathrooms, and good food. I will always be a panera lover! read more

We ordered lunch from door dash delivery. Half the order was missing, the Cuban sandwich was NOT what is described and grilled cheese only had 1/2 a piece of cheese on it. I know door dash is responsible for payment, but when I called the store, I talked to a "manager", Tina, who basically told me it was NOT her problem. Seriously... they didn't put food in the bag, it is THEIR problem!!! This is our 2nd attempt to order from them and food was missing on each order. Rude staff, poor food and they just don't care. This Panera is simply the best! My daughter and I stayed in the cape for a week and ate here 4 nights. MIKE was amazing and knew our order the second time we came in! Extremely busy, we were lucky enough to find a table to eat at. Noisy and unorganized. A gaggle of people waiting for their food for 30 min. No room at the drink machines in the very back of the restaurant. The food was actually good, especially the squash soup and side salad. It is expensive, but same price as all paneras. Ordering was another ordeal, people gathered around, not many registers open. A separate bakery register section that also takes sandwiches orders, I think. We ordered a bakery item in the sandwich line and the employee had to go way over to the bakery section to get it and hand it to us over a bunch of people. Just so unorganized. They also do not deliver the items to your table at this one, you have to pick up your order when the pager goes off, not so easy with a few orders and heavy dishes. I was mildly excited to try the quinoa-lentil "bowl", as I imagined and envisioned a bowl full of lentils,quinoa, and greens. With an egg. Unfortunately, this was the saddest, most disappointing excuse for a bowl I have ever seen. What I got was half a bowl full of brown broth that tasted like soy sauce mixed with warm water, and a lemon wedge. There was maybe a tablespoon at most of quinoa and lentils at the bottom. A few sad wilted greens floated on top. The egg seemed to be a leftover hard boiled egg from earlier in the day. I tried not to cry in front of my daughter when I sat down at my table. I went ahead and showed the manager a photo of what a Panera quinoa bowl should look like and she pretty much ignored me. Also, it gave me the worst gas later. Not going back there again. I am a strict vegan, and specifically asked for no meat on one of the sandwiches on their menu. When I was given the sandwich by the young employee who worked there (his nametag said Michael), I noticed it had meat on it. I asked the young man politely if he could remake my sandwich, and he replied by rolling his eyes and taking it away to do the task, I heard him mutter "fuck you" under his breath. Carpet was filthy with food crumbs all over the places, tables not cleaned I spoke to a manager called Jeff and he said they would clean the area. Still no sign of any cleaner nearly 20 minutes later. Apparently, this manager was transferred from another store. Ironically enough, the place has just had a makeover but I would rather have the spotless old Panera as opposed to today's dirty one. Now 10 minutes and no sign of this "Jeff" sending anyone to clean. Only good thing was that Tara is still here and a few of the old time staff. Updated 5/17/14. A much better team now and some great former employees like Winnie and Betsy have returned. So now it's back up to 4 stars. read more

This is by far the worse Panera I've ever been to. I work in the medical field & have a short time to grab lunch & eat. If I choose Panera I always choose rapid pickup before I leave.
