Post-gym peace, strawberry sips & the dreamiest scone My wife and I have made a bit of a tradition out of coming to the East Hanover Panera after the gym -- part cool-down, part work session, and part treat-yourself moment. We're Sip Club members (highly recommend), and lately we've been obsessed with the new Strawberry Basil Lemonade Fresca. It's bright, crisp, and basically tastes like summer in a cup. Exactly what you want after sweating it out. We also split an orange scone, and wow -- it was everything. Soft and moist inside, with that perfect sweet glaze and a firm, slightly crunchy outside. I do not order salads or soups because I'm on a diet, I actually enjoy them. I especially like Greek salads with feta cheese and black olives. As for soups, I like beef barley, split pea and lentil soup most of all. So the day i went to Panera Bread , first time ever, which is next to the LA Fitness Gym that I belong to, I saw a Green Goddess Salad with chicken on the menu. The salad is made with Romaine lettuce, mixed greens, grilled chicken, grape tomatoes, pickled red onions, eggs and avocados ($7.99). Based on some other reviews, I got the fresh salad. I like the window seating and they have an abundance of that. The WIFI, charging outlets, and a user friendly APP are all additional pluses for me. What's not to like about this place?! I mean, great location, neat interior, greatly friendly staffs, food freshly prepared, free WiFi, comfortable seatings, charging outlets, great welcoming atmosphere, ...etc. You name it! Seriously if I live around this neighborhood, I would love to come here for my cup of Joe everyday! I had a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup with $2 off on one pastry deal. First, I will say the staff at this location are really nice. I ordered a chipotle cheesesteak with a fruit cup, and nothing else. I will say the fruit cup was excellent and I did appreciate it. But for a total of $17, my sandwich had about 1/4 of the meat I would've expected half the cheese and a ton of very sweet red peppers that just made the whole thing taste sweet and sickly. The best thing about Panera for me are the breakfast egg souffles - they don't make a lot of them so you have to get there early in the morning. They have 4 cheese (my favorite) and my wife likes the spinach and artichoke. They are displayed on a heated plate and when I see that they have a selection, I always get more than one. Yum! This shop has friendly people and lots of parking but these days we get take out and eat the goodies at home. My wife loves chocolate croissants and theirs is consistently very good - meaning chocolate-rich. They always have fresh coffee in the morning and when I'm daring, I get a cup of theirs to enjoy on the drive home - especially during the colder months. Overall, I think Panera is doing a good job handling the challenges of COVID and this shop, when I took a look into the kitchen for my souffle pickup, I commented to the manager that the kitchen and the dining area looked spotlessly clean. It's a comfort to me to know that the workers are focused on keeping us, their clients, safe. Coffee, breakfast souffles, croissants and a super clean environment - winner! read more

Horrible customer service! My husband was ordering food for me (I have a dairy allergy). He asked to switch the bread just like we always have. The associate was very nice in naming the bread they have and then said to hold on. She returned back and said that they are unable to change the bread and that the manager said they can not change the sandwiches. This is ridiculous and have been able to change anything he to my allergies. I called myself was hung up on SEVERAL times trying to speak to the manager. We will not ever return to this Panera. Typical Panera review: It's relatively expensive for just a sandwich. But there's actually quite a bit of sandwich there and you can customize it quite a bit. (Order online, not in person, for winning.) And I love the food. I put my order in for 12:20 today, catching a short lunch break at work. Just one sandwich. When I got there, my name was 8 deep in a list of "being made." I am deducting a star for that, but just one, because my fault for trying to come in the thick of lunch rush. My name disappeared from the list just before I got my sandwich at 12:29. Sketchy, but OK. There were bonus chips in there! I didn't order chips. I have no idea if that's a standard throw-in or they felt like being nice, but it felt nice. I don't eat here often but I have no issues coming back anytime. P.S. I tend to be here often as it is a great place to study since I can sit there for long hours. Here is my breakdown after being there so often for long hours. Food: The food is okay. They are simple sandwiches, soups, bagels, and pastries. I am sad that they got rid of some of the usuals that I had liked prior to the pandemic but I guess they weren't popular. This location runs out of things pretty quickly. Not sure if it is an inventory thing, but some of the common things they tend to be low on are bread bowls, cookies, and bagels. I tend to buy coffee/tea. The coffee/tea dispenser is filled at the beginning of the day, but they sometimes run out of hot water and don't refill it for hours. Service: Tony always says "Hi" to me but probably because I'm there very often. The workers are always looking out for each other and trying to work together as a team. During the quiet hours, they are not always at the kiosk because the majority of the customers that come are doing to-go orders through their phone or drive-through. I have seen the workers walk out through down pouring rain and high winds to deliver food outside. They don't have an actual drive-through window. One of the cons is when it is busy and no one is upfront when there are kiosk issues. However, they are always willing to help if you ask. Food Wait: You do sometimes have to wait for your food, as many people come all at once through the drive-through. And since they are near hotels, gyms, supermarkets, and business complexes, it can be understandable that you might wait a long time for your food. However, since I'm there for long hours, I don't mind waiting. It can be aggravating for others who have one-hour lunch or need to be on the run. I do see them running out to the cars a lot from 12pm - 2pm and 5pm - 7pm. Environment: So here are some cons. The internet is not the greatest here, even if you are the only one there the connection is not the best. I can barely get anything done when I need wifi connection. This place is always freezing. I don't know if it is because they are baking but I always need long pants, socks, a sweater, and sometimes a jacket. I sometimes even sadly bring a blanket, but I don't like cold. The tables are dirty and I'm always having to clean my own table. I've seen the same crumbs on the wall for days. There is only one bathroom and they seem to keep it clean but not a lot of people dines in. There are plenty of outlets for those that want to do work. Overall: This is a good place. Can there be an improvement on inventory and just the overall environment, I think there can be. Can I tell they are understaffed, yes but that's only because I'm there often enough to notice it. I don't know the phone situation so I can not put any input on that. I'm not trying to make excuses for them, just stating what I see since I do sit there for long hours studying. Overall it's a good place if you are not in a rush for your food. I'll be back since I'm still studying and it's close. However, I've been slowly going back to Parsippany's location due to the internet connection. read more

After numerous phone calls, text messages and emails, I still never got a callback from their loss prevention department, Or anybody out of the corporate office. It is clear at this point that the loss prevention department ( and corporate) is either extremely lazy, Inept & incompetent, Or covering up from whoever stole my wallet at that store to protect any possible employee suspects. Ordered a Chipotle Chicken Avocado and Steak & White Cheddar sandwiches for drive thru at the Sylvan way location. They really skimped on the meat and ingredients! Shouldn't I taste some avocado or chicken in a sandwich that has that in the name? Steak and cheese tasted like a grilled cheese sandwich minus the steak. Avoid at all costs. Walked in and ordered via Kiosk as you can't order from a human any longer. (Understandable). Asked for a paper receipt which the kiosks cannot print.
