I give up entirely on their delivery. EVERY time my order is never correct. Then I call and they apologize with assurance they will send back the correct items but by the time it gets to me, I've already eaten. One time a delivery guy gave me double my order of bagels, double cookies, two drinks that weren't mine and forgot my two sandwiches. Then came back after I called and complained and brought ONE sandwich which was wrong. Now today was the last straw. They messed up my order again and now I'm just done. The restaurant has been newly renovated, but they should have focused their efforts on management and customer service. We have been going to this Panera for many years. It has always been one of our favorite places to eat. However, within the past year or so, things have really gone downhill. If you're looking for good customer service, you will not find it here. You are greeted by flies around your table, not by employees. Staff lacks work ethic and enthusiasm which is alienating to customers. Today, we waited 20 minutes to receive our food. We went up to the counter to ask why our order had not been completed yet. We were not given an explanation but had to wait about 10 more minutes for our food to come out because the lady said she had to warm it up. When we finally received our food, the mac and cheese was the consistency of soup. They have made this mistake before, but from past experience, I know that asking for it to be fixed will get you nowhere, and you might as well take what you get. Which brings me to one of my main concerns: the fact that they never seem to get our order correct. I don't think they've gotten our order fully correct ONCE in the past year. There is always something wrong. Whether it be the incorrect bread on a sandwich, the wrong side, soupy mac and cheese, or forgotten items. The newly renovated interior is really nice, but I don't see myself going to this Panera very much anymore unless they are able to get their act together. It's a Panera Bread, for crying out loud! I doubt I can tell you anything that you probably don't already know about the menu, the décor, the ambiance, etc. This one is clean (sometimes these restaurants are not), it's on the main drag in Grosse Pointe, so easy to walk to or bike to if you're a local, and the staff here are pretty nice and helpful. Outdoor seating in a small area on the side of the building. I don't believe I've ever had anything except a salad here. They're good at that, as are most Panera Bread locations. Been waiting here for our food for an hour and we still have not yet received it. This location has a ton of lazy workers in the back just talking to each about stealing things and not making food. The manager was oblivious to the performance of his workers and the amount of time to make a meal. Everyone on the staff should be fired and this location should be sold. I would not recommend coming here. The service is very poor. We ordered a cheese sandwich and macaroni and cheese. When I went to get the food at the counter they said the the Mac and cheese was not ready and that I should come back. After several minutes I went back up too see if it's done. Ordered delivery from here as I have a horrible cold and am very pregnant. The order was placed at 3:48pm and I was told it would arrive between 4:19 and 4:29pm. I received a text message at 4:19 that my order was on its way and now it is 4:48 and it still had not arrived. The store is not far from me, and when I tried to call the store to speak someone there was a very condescending message about calling back during non-meal times. I am not impressed whatsoever. Spacious and the waitresses here are very friendly. I was just standing there not close to the register and this young lady asked me if I needed any help. Very polite! The girl who ended up helping me at the register was also very helpful. I ordered a demi-bread and she asked if I wanted it sliced! YES PLEASE! She gave me a plastic bag for the bread and another bag for my entire order. I do have one problem with this store. I would like to start by saying that I love Panera! I love their bread, their sandwiches, their salads, their double chocolate cookies...basically everything. Unfortunately, I haven't had the best experiences at this location. Yesterday I picked up an order and went to a friend's house. She ordered a salad with a fruit cup through rapid pickup (and paid extra for the fruit cup) but didn't get it. I ordered the Green Goddess Cobb and they forgot the avocado slices, which are basically my favorite part. Yes, maybe I should've checked instead of grabbing the bags and going, but the beauty of rapid pickup is that you can pick it up and go! I'll make sure to check my order closely next time. This is a great Panera location, centered in Grosse Pointe. My wife and I always get the breakfast soufflés, which are always tasty, and I tend to lean towards the Pumpkin Muffins. Coffee is always fresh and always great! This location does accept Apple / Android Pay. And no, I don't give a damn about PokéStop craze. read more

Excellent service and always a nice environment to eat at. I love coming here and grabbing breakfast or lunch with my two little baby boys before or after our tot lot visit. My favorite things to get: French onion soup, adult grilled cheese, the coffee cake (amazing!!!!) and the breakfast sandwiches. I gave it four stars though because I've always been let down by some of their creations of sandwiches or salads. So I like the location of this Panera in the Village. In the summer, I think it will be a really nice place to go for a morning coffee in the morning. Just with where the patio is on the side of the building and with the trees, it seems relaxing. I enjoy the toasted bagels with cream cheese...or one of the awesome pastries-like a bear claw to go with my coffee. Now I gave it 4 stars this time for 2 reasons: 1. The womens bathroom was dirty and had sticky stuff on the floor(like there was a spill or something else). 2. It was 10 am and they were out of 3 of my bagel choices. I will return. I am not giving up on the place. So hopefully they will get to cleaning the bathroom and have a faster turn around for bagels. read more

We've been to Panera twice in the past week or so and neither order was correct. Both were take out: one picked up and one delivered. The first time, which was delivered, did not include three bags of chips and two kids milks. There was no redress for the error. The second time we returned the store and were treated like it was our fault that Panera got the order wrong. Instead of apologizing or asking what we needed, we were told to go two separate places to get the chips and milks that were once again missing. Of course people make mistakes but the frequency and the lack of any acceptance of responsibility makes me not want to return. read more

I visited with my girlfriend last night around 8:15PM. The menu changed since stood against the wall looking at the menu. The night team led by a male worker said to us "are you going to order?" In a rude tone. We ordered our food and had to wait 10-15 minutes for our food to be prepared. The female worker that was preparing the food was kind and apologized for the wait. Meanwhile we saw three workers just standing around. The Mac and cheese I ordered was cold and the broth bowl tasted like plastic. To make a better night the same male worker who was taking our order started to sweep the floor and carpet around the table we were sitting at. Hadn't been on the east side in awhile. It was summer warm and muggy last week. I'm not a big fan of the high heat and muggy weather, but I go crazy sitting in air conditioning all day. Needed to find a place in the shade with some decent grub and finishing reading Elijah Anderson's book, "Code of the Street: Decency, Violence, and the Moral Life of the Inner City" (shameless plug, but an excellent book). So I headed to Panera Bread. I got my bottled water, the 1/2 salad/1/2 soup combination, and yes the shortbread cookie! I went out the door and to the side patio and found GREAT SHADE!! I ate the food, drank the water, and finished the book. The patio was nice and quiet with modest food traffic on Kercheval. All in all, a nice quiet Wednesday afternoon. With a few more hot days approaching, if you're in Grosse Pointe, make sure to visit this place and enjoy the food and shade. read more

I'm a delivery driver for UberEats and DoorDash. The service here is absolutely absurd and extremely slow. I stood off to the side patiently waiting for my delivery to come up so I could get the order to the customer. After 8 minutes i politely asked the cashier if the order was being prepared and if she could just ask how much longer it was going to be. She then looked at me and said that DoorDash is not her priority that all the people walking in come first. Is it that hard too turn your head and ask a simple question? I'd also like too add that every customer that came up to order was being informed it was a 30 minute wait for food. One customer even asked "does that include a bowl of soup?" and the girl replied yes. At that point several people turned around and walked out. Also lets remember there were a bunch of people already waiting inside, a bunch of orders on the screen, and they were literally bringing 1 order out at a time every10 minutes or so. These were not large orders by any means. I'm not the only reviewer on Yelp and Google who have been saying these things. Nit really sure if these stores are franchises or corporate owned, but someone should really get involvef unless this is how Panera wants their establishments ran and reviewed... Not really sure what has happenEd with customer service out there, but it's actually pretty pathetic. I've decided I'm not going to keep my mouth shut anymore, and I will be reviewing restaurants and their service on a regular basis from now on. If third party delivery is the least of their concerns, then just stop doing them. Let's not forget, people ordering delivery are customers as well!! read more

Panera has really matured as a company well. I find myself going here more and more. Half a chicken, strawberry mixed green salad and half a Mediterranean Flatbread. Or any of the flatbreads for that matter. That was probably the best addition in the last couple years. The coffee isn't anything special but the sandwiches are good and consistently so. I could see they hated their jobs hate waiting on these people in Grosse Pointe I told one lady in the baking section there was no toilet paper in 1 of the stalls she was really put out. Tables were not wiped down it's a mess in there. The owners should be in there at all times so this doesn't go on and his business doesn't go under because of employees bad attitudes.
