[[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean restaurant with friendly service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Made to order sandwiches come with a pickle and bag of chips. Soup comes with a bread roll. Lots of salad and dessert options are available at the counter. The lobster bisque is good. The Grosse Pointe sandwich was fine but a bit on the plain side. It's just a chicken sandwich with not a lot of flavor with tomato and red onion. I will come back. It's a nice place to have a casual lunch.

The Maeun Chicken sandwich special

Stopped by for lunch today and took a chance on their Maeun Chicken sandwich special. He promised it wasn't too spicy and he was right! So yummy and just the right amount of kick. It was messy, but so worth it.

Shores Caesar

The sandwiches live up to the hype. A must stop for a quick bite to eat if in the shores. The shores Caesar was fantastic.

The Cuban

Came here for lunch one afternoon and went with the Cuban. They have lots of soups and lots of sandwiches available. The service was prompt and I was able to eat and be out within twenty minutes. The sandwich was good, not amazing. Would I come back? For sure!

We shared a couple sandwiches. Nothing bad but nothing impressive either. Quick service and clean place.

Ask the Community - Nautical Deli

Are there any gluten free choices?

They do have gluten free wraps, but not sure about their lunchmeat. If you have celiac and are very sensitive I would ask them about their cross-contamination procedures to avoid getting sick.

They have Dr Browns soft drinks and all the flavors! The matzoball soup is amazing def 9 out of 10. The sandwiches are top notch. The meat is super fresh and the rye bread is fresh and perfect. And you can get them to grill whatever you order right in front of you. To top it all of the atmosphere is an experience. Like walking into a NY deli in the 70s. I highly recommend to anyone in the area. And worth the trip if you are not from the area.

The inside has an old-school diner vibe, which could be charming, but the overall experience didn't quite match. Staff interaction was neutral--not unfriendly, but not particularly welcoming either. My husband ordered the Lynne sandwich and I had the Adele, along with a bowl of matzo ball soup. The soup was definitely the highlight--flavorful and comforting--but at nearly $9 for a bowl, it felt overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately, the sandwiches didn't live up to expectations. The meat was piled in the center of the bread, leaving the ends with little to nothing in each bite, which made them feel poorly constructed and just overall mediocre. We were also surprised by the number of upcharges--extra for toasting the bread, extra for grilling, and even a 3% fee for using a credit card. It all adds up quickly. For two sandwiches and a shared soup, our total came to just over $40, which felt steep given the quality. It's disappointing because we wanted to like this place, but the high prices just didn't align with the food or experience. Unfortunately, we'll likely be crossing Uncle Harry's off our list.

We visited New York Deli for an impromptu family dinner. We hadn't been in years but remembered…read moreenjoying it in the past. It has a cute, classic diner feel--nothing recently updated, but it was clean and comfortable. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. We brought our three young kids and ordered them each a kids meal: chicken tenders with fries, spaghetti, and a cheeseburger with fries. The portions were generous and we even had leftovers, but at $10 per kids meal, the pricing felt pretty steep. We started with the bread basket and pickles, which were both good. My husband ordered the Monterey Jack chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. He first tried the chicken noodle soup but thought it had a sour aftertaste, so he switched to the beef barley, which unfortunately wasn't much better. His chicken entrée had good flavor, but it was just one thin, butterflied chicken breast. I ordered the New Yorker with fries, which I enjoyed--it was solid and satisfying. When the bill came to around $80, it just didn't feel justified for a deli/diner-style meal. Overall, the food was okay, but the pricing felt high for what you get--especially for a family outing. I might stop in again solo for a sandwich, but we likely won't be bringing the whole family back, mainly due to the cost of the kids meals.

Order a Soup and salad with the Midtown salad and chili cabbage, NY style Turkey Rueben and baby Greek with feta on the side and small GF chicken tenders with bbq and honey mustard sauce, bumpy cake. $65.19 The Greek salad is so-so, made with iceberg. It's not special. The chili cabbage was good, good broth for the soup. The midtown is packed and topped with bacon. The turkey Rueben is meh, quite bland. The onion rings are quite good. The batter is light and airy. The Russian dressing is quite bland. The slaw isn't enough to give the turkey Rueben sandwich taste or feel. The GF chicken tender looks like panko, it's crunchy and the meat is tender and not dry at all. The honey mustard sauce is too bad, he's BBQ too. The complimentary pickles are decent, not crunchy though. Service is good. Food quantity is quite generous here. The onion rings and the chili soup are both good. Bumpy cake was cut into row halves, that was thoughtful, it was quite good.

I drove from Sterling Heights excited on trying their Corn Beef sandwich, upon arrival the cook on the grill did not seem to be having a good day, looked me in my eyes with a mud attitude and didn't speak. The lady on the register DJdeli was smiley and very pleasant I ordered a $21.99 Corn beef sandwich along with a whole pickle priced @ $2.50 totaling $25+, surprised receiving it, preparing to eat it in my car. I was very disappointed with both !. The sandwich was one of the worst sandwich I've ever purchased, having better from the Coney Island, especially for the price I paid being it had no slices put together with dry broken pieces, tasteless, No flavor whatsoever with the Swiss cheese on only one half of the sandwich, as I was trying to eat it, it keep breaking apart all over my car and the pickle was old half soggy dented in. I did try to request an exchange or refund for the pickle and he (the cook),Intervening the conversation with the clerk stated at me with an sassy nasty attitude I'm not giving you back a refund, You can get another pickle. I'm like ok thank you, the one he exchanged was smaller in the same condition, turning bad as well. I will take this an experience to not listen to over hyped up commercials and stick with what I know and those who know and miss the bad demeanor and unworthy over price Corn beef with the nasty service provided by their cook and invest in a menu that I won't throw away the remaining of the purchase!. I will not be returning and will share this advice with those I know !!. I gave two stars for the clerk who took my order, thank you for being kind my first and last visit .
