What a wonderful bakery! The breads are amazing - as are the patisseries and sandwiches. Top notch addition to the East Side!

Great selection of breads. The Italian bread is awesome. They also have a nice selection of pastries, sandwiches and soups.

I agree with another reviewer that I was expecting more of a lowkey, jazzy vibe in the inside, but I don't mind much. I chose to sit outside to read for a bit and I'm glad I did because the downtown area was very calm and relaxing - not loud at all. I ordered the mixed berry croissant with cheesecake and it was delicious. I will say it was VERY flaky (which was delicious) but admittedly I felt the croissant was a little overdone (my preference is just for softer croissants so maybe next time I'll try a different pastry warmed up). It was still delicious, though. I also ordered an iced dirty chai with whole milk. Overall, I think this was a disappointing drink. It was honestly kind of tasteless to me (maybe it's because I got it iced?). This isn't enough to knock a review to 4 but I was surprised about it. It was still refreshing to have on a weekday morning reading sesh, though. Overall, great vibes and delicious pastries. Definitely give this spot a try if you're in town!

My mother and I went here once a while back, she was hoping to get a breakfast (she favors any kind of Benedicts), she wasn't feeling any of the sandwiches or menu options, so we ended up only getting their butter croissants and pain au chocolate. Both were decent. They have an extensive variety of breads for whatever occasion. Definitely a go to spot for breads and pastries.

I got a sub, a pizza roll, sub buns and cookies. They have muffuletta sandwiches with authentic muffuletta bread they bake there. Looked perfect, and need to go back to try it. I was a bit annoyed by the people standing in front of the counter as if that was going to get them called faster. I had to go down the aisle to talk to the lady when my number was called because some dude wouldn't budge. (Not the fault of the business of course). The staff was so nice and gave me suggestions on what to try. The service was excellent. For sandwiches, we tried the Italian and prosciutto. The meats were really good. Unfortunately, the oil and herbs wasn't on my husband's sub, and I think they accidentally put mild peppers instead of hot. 3/5 I learned you come here for the baked goods!!!! I tried the tiramisu, cannoli, and got an old fashioned donut for my hubs. I had a harm time choosing what delectable sweet to take home. The tiramisu was stellar. 5/5 I wish the front had a little less wine and a seating area to have a donut and coffee. It's not that kind of place to sit down and have an espresso, but still a very cool spot. They have an online order option which I'll try next time.

I ordered 4 different cake slices - OMG the best German Chocolate cake I've ever had - really moist and a great Chocalate flavor. I didn't get to try the others but I'll Be back to get more. The owners were really kind and as I was talking to other people in line they stated they go there often- that made me happy. I think a slice was $7 ish dollars but they were dense and big enough to share. I like these big squares came in individual containers- perfect for snagging a few bites at a time and putting back in the fridge. My boyfriend loved the carrot cake.

Staff is always amazing. Best hidden gem around. If you have to take a long ride go for it ,you won't be disappointed. A while ago I had read a post on Facebook regarding the Grand Opening of a new bakery. Finding myself in the area I decided to stop in and give them a try. Do not let the storefront which looks small fool you! There is a grand selection of many different types of deserts and pre-prepared meals. There are pies that come in a regular, small and different flavors. You may purchase a full cake or a generous piece of layered cake that is about 4X4. I would rather buy different flavors by the piece so that I or my guests can enjoy a smorgasbord of desserts ! There were also a variety of small cheesecakes that could feed 2 maybe 3. I brought a piece of chocolate chocolate cake, lemon, carrot cake and key lime cheesecake. Each and every flavor was just fabulous. I HAVE TO SAY THE CARROT CAKE WAS THE BEST I HAVE HAD IN A VERY LONG TIME! The lemon too... everything. We enjoyed everything. SURPRISE, they also offer gluten free cupcakes too. On this particular day I purchased the carrot cake flavor. If you did not say anything you would not have known this was gluten free. The cake had the same yummy flavor and was very moist. The location is very easy to find. Take the time to check them out. You will not be dissatisfied!Oh, you can pre-order a variety of what looks like 2X2 inch pieces of cake as well.

It is very sweet as it should be, but the perfect amount. We also like the sea salt shortbread and of course the cinnamon rolls. The cashier was very friendly and patient as I made up my mind on what treats I wanted. I even added some cookies as a last min gift to give for the holidays. The bakery is small with a few indoor seats but there's some cute outside seating as well. There is parking on both Kerchaval and Parker. We will be back as we live dangerously close. Definitely stop in and try what all the hype is about. You won't regret it.

We didn't get there until the afternoon, but they luckily still had some available. We took two slices to go. It wasn't what I expected, especially in texture, kind of like a gummy chess pie. The flavor was okay, nice maple, and not as sweet as I was expecting. Service - we were the only ones there. It took a few minutes to get someone to say hello, and finally get us our slices. But then, we waited for the staff to finish their goodbye conversation, as one person was leaving for the day, until we could check out and pay. Overall, between the pie and service, it was disappointing and not somewhere I'd be recommending as a must have while visiting Detroit.
