The pasta I got for my kid was cold and we tried the grilled cheese once and it was nothing but two pieces of plain bread slapped with half melted cheddar cheese on a sandwich grill with burn marks. This is apparently a newly opened Panera, as it is a newer strip mall, and my rating is more based on appearance rather than the food itself. The food was great, as it usually is at any Panera. The problem is with the cleanliness. It is TERRIBLE!!! For a newer store one would expect it to be immaculate, but it is far from that. I am visiting Frankfort, KY and so was in here yesterday for late lunch early dinner and the dishes at ALL receptacles were overflowing, no one had picked them up and this was between busy times. The floor was dirty; no one had vacuumed it or swept up from the lunch crowd, and table / chairs were dirty. Today I am here again (hoping for better) after the lunch rush and it is still the same. This doesn't bode well for those who like a cleaner tidier place to dine. Enjoyed my food very much and it was especially fast being made, though I was here at an odd time. 3 stars because staff seemed overly lax with personal conversations interfering with helping customers/orders. The lemons for water were also about 50 minutes past when they should be consumed (had a label saying to not consume them after a certain time). I have used the drive through at this place about 6 times and of 3 of those times my food wasn't right. 2 of the times I ordered a hot panini and it's was cold. The chicken was as cold as if it just came out of the fridge. Also I had order a brownie with one of those orders it was flipped upside down and the icing came off. We stopped for lunch, ordered and paid for salads and iced coffee. Then discovered they had no iced coffee. So the manager made us the 3 iced coffees we had ordered and not by pouring hot coffee over ice which makes dilute, watery grey coffee. It took a few minutes and he apologized profusely, delivered the beverages to our table himself and reimbursed us for the coffees. He then came by our table with clean to go cups so we could have refills for the road. At that time he even cleared our table while again offering his apology for the original lack of product. This is customer service above and beyond; something some table service restaurants could learn from. We were impressed and gratified. Just wish we'd gotten the fellow's name to write the company. At the time I was here the staff was not very attentive. We walked in and the girl behind the register grabbed the tablet and walked away, then had the man who was clearly busy washing dishes come take our order. Waited in the Drive Thru for 30 minutes for a bagel pack, didn't even get to order as there were 4 cars and not one moved. I backed out before I got trapped by the next car. I think this is their plan, Poor service and trapping people in a Drive Thru you can't escape after a car pulls behind you. No thanks Panera. Not worth it. read more

Food was good however service was poor. There was personal conversations going on that I'd rather not have heard. Especially when the conversation pertained to needing a check up and sleeping with someone...... that made me almost walk out. Please save that conversation for private places. Not behind a restaurant counter. If I hadn't already ordered I would have left. I saw several labels for items that were well past due to be changed. Past an hour over due that is. The store general manager was very rude to employees. Very disrespectful. She didn't acknowledge any customers just screamed loudly for an employee. This store needs a clean up with its employees and managers. There were 2 employees that my hats off too. They were hard at work. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. read more

When I approached the counter to order, there was a manager standing there on her iPad. She wouldn't acknowledge my family although we were directly across the counter from her. She grabbed her iPad and walked to the side to begin to BS with a male coworker (I say BS because she was giggling and flirting). Several workers looked at us, and did not take out order. Finally, the young man that was on dishes, stopped and took our order (I wish he had washed and dried his hands first though). He wants the only person that payed any attention to my family. Located next to the Holiday Inn Express & Long Horn Restaurant, this Panera is conveniently situated less than a mile from the highway exit. The interior is tastefully decorated and the various sitting areas are clean and relatively free of debris. The free WiFi is available but painfully slow. I did a speed test and it only had a download speed of 0.5 Mbps !!! The food service however was prompt and pleasant. My Autumn squash soup and Ancient grains salad was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The ice tea was also fresh. Even though it was not a busy time when I went, the pastry section was a bit sparse. Several items were sold out and I got the very last short bread cookie. The manager on duty was very friendly and helpful as he personally answered a question I had regarding a particular item. Overall a fine dinning experience with a slight negative mark for the dismal WiFi service. read more
