First, the owner is awesome. Great guy. You'll want this man to succeed. The spring roll appetizer is awesome. As is the sushi and the bowls. Tried salmon in both and they were fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend. With the stir fry, the chicken was tender. The vegetables were a little stiff. The overall dish lacked flavor. I tried to spruce it up a tad with soy sauce, but to no avail. It was just not salvageable. So, I'll be back. I'll try more sushi and bowls. But I'd avoid the stir fry.

We were seated right away inside. They have patio dining, too, but it was hot! Casual place with nothing much to talk about visually. But, comfortable and the staff were welcoming. Our waiter answered our menu questions and offered suggestions when asked. All three of us ended up choosing the Cuban with Cole Slaw. And, we got a side of Onion Rings for the table. The food was good and the sweet tea was cold and refreshing. I enjoy Cuban and Reuben sandwiches and try them when I find them on menus. Their version of a Cuban comes on a bun, not the traditional pressed and grilled Cuban bread or other soft, airy bread. So, it was messy to eat and didn't offer that dense Cuban treat I enjoy. It was delicious, don't get me wrong, we all liked it. But it isn't a Cuban Sandwich by culinary standards. I've had food from The Brown Barrel at events where their food was brought in and it was all good, too. They also have an attached bottle shop where you can buy good bourbon at heavily inflated prices. Overall, this is a solid place for a meal and I'll go back when in the area.

Someone in Frankfort recommended we stop here for dinner on our way to Lexington, since it's on the…read moreway. The place was busy. Some kind of fairy festival going on in the area? There was no parking in their parking lot, so we had to drive down the hill and try our luck with street parking, then walk back up about 5-7 minutes to get into the restaurant. A bit of a pain, especially since the restaurant was only about 50% full. The host or person at the front desk was hiding - sitting on the floor on his phone. We had to lean over the counter to ask him to get up so we could ask him to seat us. He ended up being our server as well, after he literally argued with a coworker who walked up while we were inquiring about a table. "I just took the last two damn tables, isn't it your turn?" doesn't inspire confidence that you're a welcome guest. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown. When in Rome, right? The menu says you can get it with Mornay sauce or Kentucky Hot Brown sauce. I asked the waiter which was better - he said the Hot Brown sauce. Sounds great! It came out with the mornay sauce. It was still good, but I was a wee bit disappointed. My companions enjoyed their meals. I picked up a reasonably priced bottle of Sazerac Rye on the way out, since they didn't have any left at the distillery when I was there earlier in the visit.

It has a sports bar feel with a family area and a large bar section. There were TV screens with various sports on throughout the place. They specialize in serving their chicken entrees in all kinds of flavours and degrees of heat. They also serve craft beer and offer daily specials. My sister and I split the 6 piece strips. I got mine plain and she got hers hot with sassy garlic. We opted for onion rings over the fries. Our server was friendly, attentive and explained all the flavor options to us. Our food arrived quickly and the strips were so large we ended up taking home the last two. The onion rings were okay, I prefer thinner crispier rings but my sister liked them a lot. The seasoning on her strips was more like a rub than a sauce. I tried a bite but they were too spicy for me. She loved the flavor. Even though mine were considered plain, they were light, crispy and had a nice country fried chicken taste. There are a lot more options to try on the menu so I'm sure we will go back. There are lots of burgers listed as well as a variety of non chicken entrées. The price was about $12 plus our drinks which is a pretty good value for the size of the strips we got. The restaurant was clean and they were playing oldie music which we both enjoyed. They are located in a strip mall with the family dollar and dollar tree with plenty of parking available.

I don't know anywhere else in town that has Spam and it certainly makes this a standout here. Most people won't think of coming here to get a burger but it is incredible and my second favorite sandwich here. I like to get the Kalua Pork Plate with sticky rice and macaroni salad. The pulled pork is always juicy and delicious. Of the course you can't go wrong with the Teriyaki Chicken and the Katsu is excellent. The Katsu is a chicken breast cutlet that is breaded and fried and it is delicious on a sandwich or cut up on a Katsu plate. I haven't tried the Mahi Mahi yet but I hear that it is great as well. My last recommendation is to check out their Daily Specials. They usually have a special shrimp or fish dish or something more out of the ordinary like today's special: Bulgogi Sliders. I highly recommend this place, especially if you are in the mood for something different. The food is always fresh and served quickly.

My wife and I were pretty excited about a new experience and a fun lunch. The place was disappointing to say the least. The servers weren't really friendly or outgoing. The value was severely lacking- a reported 5 ounce burger (looked small) and literally about 10 crinkle cut fries, a 12 ounce drink served in styrofoam and a vanilla malt to go costs us about $50. I tried to say thank you to the server on my way out but she was busy having a loud conversation with another employee and didn't notice me. There is outdoor seating on picnic tables. The menu has a variety of sandwiches like cod fish and a fried bologna plate. But most of the menu was different burgers with cute names. The web said they served breakfast all day, there was no breakfast menu on the table and we didn't ask. All in all I'm glad I went to satisfy my curiosity but I would not seriously recommend this place to people visiting Frankfort. You would get a better deal and probably service at Hardee's.
