We have been going to Panerq for a long time. I was so disappointed with this drive thru experience. We ordered our favorite....bacon turkey bravado sandwich. It was horrible! They have changed the bread to nothing even close to what they had previously. I ordered a whole sandwich and ended up with two small sandwiches. The gouda was a tiny slice. It was about a 1 1/2" square. Here is the best part . .we ordered a bacon turkey sandwich and there was NOT even a slice of bacon on it. This was such a disappointing visit. Loved everything about my experience today. I've been there several times before, but today was my first time trying the "rapid pick up". And you guessed it... now I'm hooked! I was able to order and pay online.. while specifying my preferred time. My order was ready and waiting when I arrived, and it was hot!! I had a yummy turkey sandwich with steaming hot cheddar broccoli soup...my absolute favorite! Lastly, the food was tasty, the place was clean, and the service was great. I got in, got full, and got out.... with no fuss or stress. I will definitely be using the rapid pick up option for every visit moving forward! Who knew lunch could be so awesome! I often come here or order out with my parents or friends for lunch but this time we were picking up food to take with us to the 4th of July concert and fireworks at Conner Prairie so we did not all go inside. On this day, the service seemed moderately fast (I was in the car with my mom and my dad went inside to pick up the order) but there was still a little bit of a wait. They are usually pretty fast and get our order right, though, so I would definitely give them the benefit of the doubt since it was July 4th week. I decided to try something different instead of get my usual roasted turkey and avocado BLT, bacon turkey bravo or chicken noodle soup (the weather was too hot for soup), so I ordered the new Modern Caprese sandwich, a combination of ripe tomatoes, sliced mozzarella and basil pesto on tomato basil bread. It. Was. Amazing. The basil pesto was perfect, there was just the right amount of tomatoes and huge chunks of flavorful mozzarella. I love the flavor of pesto but sometimes it can be pretty overpowering. This was just right. I definitely have found a new favorite sandwich. Along with that I had the Green Goddess Cobb salad with chicken, one of my other favorites, and it was as yummy as ever. The lettuce was crisp, the tomatoes and onion added a nice crunch and texture, and you can't go wrong with avocado, bacon bits and hard boiled egg. The Green Goddess dressing, along with the avocado, made it really nice and creamy. This is a place that is perfect for healthy, but tasty food choices. So many of Panera's salads, soups and sandwiches can be mixed and matched, although some are just natural pairs, that I can't wait to go back and try the Modern Caprese sandwich with something else. read more

Not happy at all! This is the second time I've had a issue. December 17th and again today. Clearly this Frontega Chicken sandwich should be called bread, tomatoes, red onions not much chicken and not much cheese sandwich. Then I asked for the free bagel that comes daily for the month of January. Needless to say the lady at the register told me to step over and look at the screen when it says completed i could pick my order. When it moved over I went to get my food and there was a Asian lady there that was so rude she said we didn't call you name have a seat. I told her what the lady at the front counter told ms to do and clearly you two have a disconnect so don't take it out on me. She walked to the side and got on her cell phone. Then shortly ther after another lady holding a bag started staring at me but never said my name I said is that for Nikki she said yes. I told her i wanted to look at my food b4 i get all the way back to work and its wrong again. She said that was fine. So I did and I attached a pic of the horribly prepared chicken lacking sandwich that I was given. Then I asked where the bagel was then the Asian lady flew over to me and asked what else I needed. I told her then she told another guy to give me the bagel. I must say the customer service was horrific! The food was sloppily put together and I would give them zero stars if I could. So sad! That two strikes in a row for this location in less than 30 days. read more

I purchased and was charged for an ice tea I never received on a take out order. I tried calling the restaurant twice and no one ever picked up the phone at the 96 St. Location. Been here a few times. The prices seem to have gone up significantly in the past few months. For two, Pick Two and 2 regular size sodas cost $27!!! They offer all of these new services and delivery it to me, it's not worth it. I can go to someplace similar, like McAlisters and have leftover food for later and it costs LESS. Quality seems to have gone down to, once they stared changing everything to 'all natural', which doesn't make sense. You think quality would improve. I usually like Panera, but I loathe this location. The main reasons? Crappy location, bad parking, and they hire anyone who's pretty with a pulse. That usually equals bad customer service. Today I ordered a whole sandwich with a bowl of soup to go and I was in a hurry - mistake number one. I should have made the young inexperienced attendant read me back my order - mistake number two. She works in a bakery and doesn't know how many cookies a half-dozen is - mistake number three - she didn't even know if they had cookies! - whoa. She asked me if I wanted a receipt, hmmm when I'm getting an order to go and I paid with a credit card (uh, yeah) - mistake number four. I should have reviewed it sooner - mistake number five. By the time I got the order and figured out that I'd been horribly overcharged and gotten less food than I wanted, than I was more than pissed. I wound up with half a sandwich and a cup of soup. I had to leave to keep from really going off. In all fairness, I didn't really give them a chance to correct it, but people taking the order should know how a restaurant/bakery works. I can never complain about the quality of the food at Panera Bread. It's always fresh, and I can never turn down a cookie or pastry with lunch. However, I will probably start ordering online before I go because you can just walk in and grab your order from the shelf. I found myself very envious of those people while I was standing in line! I'm docking a star because one employee was walking down the line of customers telling them they could order from a kiosk instead of waiting in line. Interestingly, nobody wanted to do that. (Maybe one person did.) Did she also not realize she's kind of advocating for her job to go away? I get that it's a busy place at lunch on a weekday, but I think people know that going in. Plus, half of us need the time spent in line to decide what we want! (This most especially applies to my indecisive self.) I do like the board with your name on it that lets you know when your order is up. This location is in the corner of a small strip center so parking can be an issue when you realize there is at least one other eatery there. I love Panera but not quite feeling the love for this location. Restaurant was dirty - even with my visit being outside of typical breakfast, lunch, or dinner hours (not okay to be unkept during busy hours, either haha). They had one fruit cup to choose from. Typically this would not be an issue but it was half-full compared to your average Panera fruit cup. My biggest concern, though, was the arrangement of the tea bags. They were stacked on top of one another on top of the microwave. This might not catch your attention while grabbing a tea bag but it made me think: was this wheelchair-accessible? I struggled with it and actually had to ask for help to reach it. Big picture: I would love for this Panera to aim for consistent cleanliness and think big picture when it comes to placement of items. read more

I have to start by saying that this location has by far the worst parking lot of any place I can think of. It is the absolute worst during lunch which is probably why I don't ever go there except for one day last week. I was heading out to lunch to run some errands and had rep at work as me to grab them something to eat. Ok, sure but he wanted to Panara and I immediately dreaded his decision. I arrived and there were at least 20 people in line so I knew I was in for a wait. Between waiting in line to order and then waiting for our food, I was there for 25 minutes. Ugh! Not exactly who I wanted to spend my lunch hour. As far as my food went, it was just ok. I ordered the turkey and avocado BLT and the vegetable soup. The soup lacked flavor and I ended up tossing most of it. I do enjoy their bakery selection and they've got great bagels but it is not my top list of places to eat. read more

I stopped in here to eat as I look for something decent while I'm out on the road. (I travel a lot!). Panera is known for pretty decent food- so, safe bet I thought. I walked in, and stood in line behind 6 other guests. There was one guy attempting to take orders at one open register, one guy playing with a dish towel, dust cloth, or something of the like around the pastries, and 2 girls doing pretty much nothing but standing behind the order guy. The four of them appeared to have the combined work ethic equal to one lifelong welfare recipient. On top of that, they were all arguing, out loud in front of the guests, about what goes into a cup of flavored coffee. No discipline, no work ethic, no appearance of wanting to serve a customer. Shameful. If I were the owner of this franchise, I would fire every one of them, including the manager. I don't know about the others that were in there, but I promptly walked out and found something else to eat. I'll still go to Panera, but this place needs to get its act together. I hope the owner reads this and fixes it. These guys are costing you money. read more

I ordered some breakfast here to-go. Let me just say, it was really hard to even get into the parking lot. I knew there was a Panera near (thanks, Yelp phone app!); however, I wasn't aware that I'd have to turn before getting there. So of course after I had passed it (can't turn left over the median ; ) , I drove through the strip mall behind it and passed it yet again. Then I ended up on the other side of yet another median going perpindicular to 96th street, so I'd have to make that left hand turn, which would take me, again, beyond Panera. Frustrating. This time around, I was able to turn on the right side of Panera, but the parking lot was still jam-packed. So if you have anxiety- stay away! I made this stop post- doctor appointment, and I knew I probably wouldn't be taking a lunch break. I was at that awkward time between breakfast and lunch (eh, 10:30/ 10:45), so I figured I'd get breakfast and try to get something for later since I probably wouldn't take a lunch. For breakfast, I had the Asiago Bagel sandwich- I think it had bacon, egg and cheese. I remember it being pretty tasty, kinda salty-ish. Cheesy. I asked if there was soup made yet, as it might be a nice thing to heat up later and eat with a sesame bagel, but no.. No soup yet. So I went for the sesame bagel and cream cheese. The bagel was not all that impressive later on. Although it was littered with sesame seeds, it didn't have much of a sesame bagel flavor. It tasted more just like plain bread. I did leave the cream cheese sitting out for a long time, though, and still ate it. And I was fine. So that's good! read more

So, it was my first time eating at Panera. So I had the Tomato soup, and 1/2 of a grilled cheese (4 cheese). My food was brought out, and the soup looked really good.......then I picked up the sandwich, opened it up, and it looked like worse than the grilled cheese @ school, many moons ago! I took the sandwich up to the counter where they are making the food, and I told the lady that this was my first time there, and I can't believe that for $12.00, I get a sandwich that looks like some shredded cheese was just toss on it. That's what it was, she said they just switched to the shredded. Well, she made me a grilled cheese with sliced cheese, 4 different kinds, and I thanked her for doing that, and they should go back to the slice cheese. Absolutely horrible location - parking is a freaking nightmare. If you go anytime in between 10:30 and 1:30 be prepared to deal with horrendous congestion that will just sap your desire to eat here. I eat at Panera a lot. The food is never a problem. The Rapid Pick up option is very convenient. This location is right by my new work office, so I came here 3 times in 1 week for both breakfast and dinner, and 2 out of the 3 times my orders were wrong. One time all i got was a bagel with cream cheese and a coffee and they gave me the wrong cream cheese flavor. The other time they forgot an item on my Rapid Pick up order-- I called and they said they'd send me a voucher, took my address, and I never received it. read more

I used to be a Starbucks coffee drinker but this summer I "discovered" Panera. I love this place. I'm retired and have lots of time so I go and read and drink coffee for a couple of hours at a time -- with FREE refills! Hear that, Starbucks? This place is very disappointing. We were here well before closing first no broccoli cheddar soup was available. Then I ordered a Mediterranean bowl. It came with no arugula no greens with all ingredients just thrown in on the grain. My friend ordered the same bowl and got all kinds of greens items were separated neatly. The staff tried to tell me the bowl came with no greens. When I showed them their own pic of the bowl with arugula he said so I guess you want me to make it over?? Hell no. I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service from management at this specific Panera location. Today, my sister, who is working from home while recovering from surgery stopped by on her lunch break to get food. She went through the drive thru only to realize she had left her wallet at home. Obviously embarrassed and apologetic, she explained the situation to the guy at the window who was very sweet and understanding. She went home to get her wallet to come back, only to realize she could use her Apple Pay. She went inside, spoke to the same guy and tried to once again pay for her food. The Apple Pay was not working, so my sister who was already embarrassed became more uncomfortable and ashamed as she would now have to go home to get her wallet and come back. At this point a male manager came up front to ask what was going on. Instead of being understanding of the mix-up he belittled and berated her. He yelled at her and asked if she knew that "people had to actually make that food, and it would now go to waste," and made her feel guilty for "overworking" these employees during this "difficult time." My sister even offered to come back and purchase the already prepared food, even if it was cold, because this was her mistake. The manager scoffed at her before saying they "couldn't serve her cold food, just for her to turn around and leave them a bad review." My sister then called me in tears and went home without getting her lunch today, as she was too embarrassed and insulted to return to this store. Well buddy, you got your wish. Here is your bad review, not due to cold food, but due to a lack of empathy and professionalism. The audacity that you had to blame a negative morale for your "overworked" staff on one customer is simply asinine and idiotic, and I hope, for the sake of the people who work beneath you, that you are fired. read more

About 15 minutes later received a call from the manager that they could not do the order....they were too busy...Then why did it allow it to be placed in the first place. It took 15 to 20 minutes to place the order to begin with. After contacting the manager was told that they do not control the online ordering system.
