The chicken is the perfect combination of juicy on the inside yet crispy on the outside. The sando comes with yummy coleslaw on a fluffy, buttery delicious bun that's super fresh. They also have sides like Chicken Etouffee Creole which is a stew made with a light brown roux, herbs spices and chicken. Served with rice. Instant Classic. It's a super fun environment with a stage and a drum set. They have plenty of drink specials and entertaining events. Both times I've been here the bartenders have been great. Not your average chicken sandwich atmosphere. Will be back!

On my first visit, I had the tender meal (Medium+ spice) with the fries. The tenders were seasoned well, spicy as expected, and were larger than what I remember. I was full after eating two of them. The fries were fresh and hot and were also seasoned well - pair them with ranch and *chef's kiss*. The next day, I had the same meal to-go, but had greens instead of fries. Hands down....the best greens I've had in Indianapolis. These are the greens you want at Thanksgiving! The spice level was great, it had flavor, and I finished my cup wanting more of it! A wonderful surprise for sure. Customer Service: Based on the fraternity event, customer service was pushed to the limit. The staff remained polite and stayed busy. They did their best to find customers that had ordered food while navigating the crowd. Very professional and flexible. They are appreciated for their multitasking and hard work! Ambiance: The ambiance from the graffiti wall to the party light vibes on the inside is top tier. Outside of being s great restaurant, this was a welcoming party place with the food and drinks to match. They have a patio area for smoking and the party filled up the inside and easily spread outside to the patio. This place was perfect for the fraternity event and I can guarantee the vibes would be right for a sports watching night with the fellas, or just wanting a good lunch. And shoutout to the DJ that kept the music going all night. Highly recommend!!

The wings were fine - I probably would've liked another flavor more. Blake mentioned buffalo, but my elderly mother is sensitive to heat. My mother tried the biscuits and gravy and enjoyed it, except the potatoes. I had the shrimp and grits - it was a little runny for my taste and the grits didn't really have any flavor. It would've been nice to have a heartier grits texture with the soupier shrimp mixture. It was like a bowl of soup. My 3 year old had the kids steak with saffron rice and broccoli. She really only ate the rice and really loved it! I would go back during dinner and try some other things.

My other son got the fried chicken and left absolutely nothing on the plate. Ate. It. Up. Same with my husband. Nothing was left behind. I got the mocktail Panoma and it was definitely grapefruit heavy but refreshing. Not overly tart. We ordered three bread puddings and they were all different sizes. He really liked the addition of pickled jalapeño. The convenience store is a bit unkept. There are a couple of tables to dine at, but two needed cleaning and were holding boxes of antifreeze. I will say that I've eaten here at least 3 times before and it's always been top notch. I will be back again. But I did not think it was spectacular last night. My table started by ordering several appetizers and salads. I split the beet salad with my friend. That was a mistake. This is hands down the best beet salad I've ever had. It is delicious. My friend doesn't like beets and loved the salad. It's not very big. I don't recommend splitting it. I'm not a fan of the shrimp corn dog but everyone else loved them. A friend ordered them for the table. Someone ordered the prime rib dumplings and said they were ok. They looked good but I didn't try one. They really enjoyed the bacon wrapped apricots. Another person liked the pesto goat cheese Mac n cheese. The deviled eggs were wasabi this time. The preparation is always different. The table didn't love this preparation as much as others in the past. I thought they were good. I had the Stanley meatloaf. I'm not a fan of the very large broccoli they plate. The meatloaf was very dense. I won't order it again. But I will note that it typically gets rave reviews. It's just not for me. My friend who got the beef short ribs wasn't excited about them. I had those last visit and they were excellent. I was hearing a lot of "ok" when people were asked how their entrees were. But everyone cleaned their plates, except me. I barely ate my meal and the server did ask if there was anything wrong. There wasn't anything wrong with the meal. I just didn't care for it. I boxed it up and brought it home. I will say that everyone really enjoyed the cocktails, appetizers and salads. Our entrees were fine but no one raved about theirs. We always eat at fine dining establishments when we go out. We loved Freeland's see my review for them. So we had high expectations here and left having had a good time together but the food kind of missed the mark. My bill came to $104 for two cocktails, a beet salad and meatloaf, incl 25% tip. I think when I go back I'll definitely get the beet salad again and stick to appetizers rather than an entree. My friends also ordered several desserts. They really liked all of them. The service was very good and the waitress handled our large party very well. It took a long time to get the food. There was a lot of time between our appetizers and the entrees. I think the kitchen was slammed. We were there for 3 hours. There is a 20% tip for tables of our size, but it was not automatically charged. There is no question Oakleys is a great place for fine dining. I recommend going there. It just didn't excite me last night.
